I own an adult foster home. And we deserve better pay for the care we provide. We dedicate our lives and our homes to make sure our elderly are taken care of and provided a home like environment.

It is time for a raise to be able to better care for the elderly!!

I'm signing because Foster Homes provide excellent care and are not appreciated.
I am also a US Army veteran and also provide care for other veterans.

I am an adult care home operator and we work 2 times as hard as nursing homes but they get a 10% increase and we don’t, that’s a discrepancy that should not be allowed.

I am signing this because it is the right thing to do

I love my job and I care for my residents and employers. I’m the struggling time we all need to work together and help everybody out in any kind of job

I totally agree with the petition

Care homes work incredibly hard. They must be available to residents 24/7. They provide some of the best care in the entire senior housing system.

Medicaid rates are disrespectfully low for the excellent care we provide our lost vulnerable population

I own and operate three Adult Care Homes. I absolutely agree that we are entitled to the same 10% increase that the big facilities are receiving. I am spending lots of additional money on food, supplies, technology for my residents to communicate with their families and staffing during these difficult times.

Cindy Shoffitt (Happy Valley, 2020-04-03)

I am signing this because I am also a AFH provider.

Foster home providers dedicate their life and household to serving and protecting some of societies most vulnerable. We're front line heroes just as much as any others.

We are all in this crisis together. All LTC facilities are all taking care of the same residents. We need to have the same increase as other LTC facilities. We need the Legislature to know that Adult Care Homes are also a part of the LTC community.

I am an adult care home provider as well. Our job is not easy but we do what we do because we love the elderly and feel that they deserve the best for the time they have left here on earth.
I agree that we are discriminated against as care providers even tho our care is just as good and even better than the care they would receive in other care facilities.
In our care they get to have a closer relationship with the person providing care and we get to know their needs better than anyone sometimes better than their own families.
We ask that you take a closer look at what we do and allow the pay increase. Thank you!

I believe Adult Care Home Owners deserve this increase. Unlike Assisted Living Facility employees, ACH owners cannot call in sick, or take a personal day, if this all becomes "too much." They are basically quarantined to their homes with their residents; whom now, likely have increased anxiety, because they cannot have visits from family/loved ones, etc. So the ACH owners are managing the anxiety of their residents and the increasing frustration of the residents' families. If I had more time I could give many more reasons. Please support our ACH owners and increase the monthly pay rate during this time of crisis.
Thank you.

My mother is in foster care and she can barely afford to live where she's at now what happens if they continue to keep raising it $10 at a time every other month when she doesn't have the money to pay the rent where will she go

As a healthcare provider out in the community I see the extraordinary difference our adult care home providers make in the lives of our elders. The quality of care, attention to detail, intimate family atmosphere, and support they provide, is priceless. As a hospice nurse I recently needed to assist a patient with moving from Assisted Living to an Adult Care Home (as the Assisted Living was unable to provide feeding assistance to our patient). I was saddened and shocked to find that Medicaid will not even pay the SAME amount to the care home as they did to the Assisted Living...when we were moving the patient because of a HIGHER care need! How does that even make sense? Moving them to receive a HIGHER LEVEL of care-yet the care home would be receiving LESS from Medicaid for those services? It's time to show AT LEAST a level of equality... Thank you to ALL providers everywhere who care for our elders.

I work at foster homes and the hospital and we need better pay all around

I have dear friends working and running adult foster homes. My own grandmother spent the last year of her life in a very nice adult foster home. These folks work hard to take care of their residents, they are like family. Foster residents and care providers are at extreme risk with the covid-19 virus. Even on a normal day this is a very high risk population. Please take care of our adult foster homes and residents. They are worthy of it❤

My mom lives in an adult foster home and receives excellent care. I trust her care there more than at a nursing facility. Adult foster care homes should be entitled to the same funding as nursing homes. They are vital institutions to the care of our elderly population.

I’m signing because it’s outrageous for AFH not to get this increase when our costs doubled at least because of this pandemic trying to keep the residents safe and healthy with no state help . We had to purchase our own gowns and mask and sanitizer and etc.

Cristina Szabo (Salem, 2020-04-15)

We are signing this petition because we have had to bring in more staffing and our residents have list their day support program due to closing over the virus. We have 4 residents in our home

Due to the Coronavirus Adult Foster Homes have incurred mores costs, sterilation, PPE, Food Delivery .
We need the financial help to keep our business operating safely and efficiently

I’m signing because care providers are way underpaid by Medicaid residents besides the fact that they work so hard to protect their residents

Rodrigo Morales (Happy Valley, 2020-04-15)

I’m signing this because I am a foster care provider. The work that we do is exceptional and our residents would not be well with our 24 hour care support.

Sandra Green (Springfield , 2020-04-15)

The costs for the care and management of residents have gone up tremendously. The medicaid increase should be across the board and not privileged to specific facilities. This increase should be done no matter what the size or structure. This will increase the type of care for the elderly in smaller care facilities as well.

Jude Olivas (Bend, 2020-04-15)

My daughter has been an in home assistant for developmentally and physically disabled adults. The amount of time and care needed for the people is a lot and it varies for each individual. These patients deserve to have good quality care, especially now during this time of uncertainty. These providers have to be even more cautious than many other, just like ALL healthcare workers, to ensure their patients dont become compromised.

Do what's right and acknowledge the amazing work these providers are doing and compensate them as other workers.

It's only fair that all care facilities be treated the same.

Please do the right thing for ALL caregivers. They are the some of the super heroes during this crisis.
