my 2 boys attend this school, the traffic is poorly managed in this area, parking is a nightmare and there are up to 8 blue buses and multiple taxis at drop off and pick up

I think it is well over due & needs to be done before there is a serious injury or death. Thank you.

There's an accident waiting to happen. With the traffic, speeding cars and the buses that park one the road to collect school children, there is absolutely no view round the cars and buses to see that u are crossing safely. Equally it is just as dangerous for all the drivers who can't see the parents and children starting through the cars due to no real crossing across the road.

Stephanie Richards (Newport, 2020-07-01)

Children need to be kept safe and a crossing is necessary to facilitate this.

Im signing because i have a family member go to medina house.... all the children are so scared to cross over or go near their busses as people drive up and down that road like maneacks!! its not on, them being a school that caters for children with complex and additional mental and physical needs need some sort of protection when coming too and from the school. They go to school to learn and need too look forward too their days and not worry about what may happen if a car is stupid enough to overtake and not being able to see the students and their families. This sinareo has happened before, luckily no one was hurt but there is still this agonising fear it could because people are so careless and non acknowledgeable of the school

Vulnerable young people and their parents and carers have to cross this road at least twice a day during term time. Buses and cars have to park on the road and crossing it with limited visibility is a lottery.

The safety of children attending school is very important. I am a lollipop lady so I know.exactly how.inconsiderate road.users can be.

My daughter attends this school. It is so dangerous for the children at the school. My daughter has been at this school for 8years. I have seen lots of near misses with children and parents who try to cross the road but the school buses block the view of oncoming cars Who drive fast down the road, unaware of the vulnerable children at risk. There isn’t a safe way to cross the road during busy times like drop off and pick up time.

Georgina Furneaux (Isle of wight, 2020-07-01)

I believe there needs to a crossing put in place urgently to ensure everyone's safety.

I believe it is a very basic requirement to want to cross a road safely outside of a school. I can't believe the providion isn't already in place.

Corrina Fawcett (Iow, 2020-07-01)

this road can be a nightmare to cross during school hours, I live on this street and people don't drive up it doing 20mph so it would be alot safer for everyone if there was a proper crossing

Lucy white (Newport , 2020-07-01)

I agree with the creator of this petition. The road is dangerous, cars drive too fast along there and it is used as a rat run when traffic is mounting up along staplers. The school on this road is for children with special educational needs, their safety is paramount.

Rebecca Hunter (Isle of Wight , 2020-07-02)

Why should petitions have to be done before idiots listen. Seems kiddies have to fie or be badly injured before you act. Get of you backsides and protect our children . All lives matter.

Precious children with additional needs should not be required to take avoidable risks just to get to school. This crossing should have been put in place decades ago.
