Removal of the funding will see women that have taken a huge leap of faith to join the industry Left in limbo and at high risk of dropping back out of the Industry. The funding will help complete the project and ensure this sets a precedent for diversity within construction to continue.

Lawrence Beach (Treorchy, 2020-07-08)

This is a much needed project with real and tangible benefits. For a sector struggling to recruit women, this project should be a priority.

Kathryn Foot (Pontypridd , 2020-07-08)

I’m signing because this project was creating a future for women in the construction industry With support to allow them to thrive and learn.

Melanie Francis (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

To cut funding for a project half way through that has already achieved some amazing outcomes, puts at risk the career changer apprentices and takes away the opportunity to further change the culture of the industry, to one which is a more diverse industry.

I find the decision incomprehensible given that this project aligns with the aims the CEO Sarah Beale stated recently.

Antonia John (Porthcawl, 2020-07-09)

We need a more diverse workforce and now more than ever a dedicated route to facilitate changing career and boosting the Construction Industry is extremely important.

WILLIAM BEATTIE (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

There's a critical lack of diversity in the construction industry, particularly in Wales. This hinders the attraction of talented people and the development of new ways of working and thinking. The skills shortage is also not going away it's getting worse! The social benefits to this project are immense.

Darren Jenkins (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

#16

Because I strongly believe the project is essential to attract women into construction and to support existing woman in this industry

Juliet Winter (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

I was funded to undertake civils training many years ago, today training budgets have been cut and we need to encourage more women and diversity into the construction industry. this is a great career for anyone who can get access to it.

Juliet Gamlin (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

#22

I passionately believe that we as an industry should be much more proactively encouraging women into all roles in construction

John Durkan (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

My partner has made the best move of her career in doing her apprenticeship! And to lose it all now would be a massive shame and a massive loss for our family.

Kristien Stuckey (Port talbot, 2020-07-09)

I'm part of the scheme

Sarah Williams (CARDIFF, 2020-07-09)

#38

I’m signing this petition because woman in the trade is exactly what I need.. I’d be more than happy to take on a woman as part of my workforce.

Gary O'Brien (Cardiff , 2020-07-09)

My daughter is currently doing her apprenticeship through this scheme.

Bonita Williams (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

#41

Seems to me that CITB is using this covid-19 pandemic to save money and not move with the tide to employ more diversity within the construction industry as we all know industry is 85% dominated by men!

I'm guessing they will say they will do it in-house knowing they have no intentions to do the work to the same level as Career Changers!

I've been following this program and the work done is second to none!

Lee Brace (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

My daughter is on this course.

David Williams (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

Sarah Meah (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

#57

I am signing this petition because this is an important scheme which supports many people who will potentially lose their jobs and the opportunity to work in an area that they love if this funding is not maintained.

Isla Edwards (Cardiff, 2020-07-09)

#58

I have friends that would be affected by terminating this funding.

Mark Thomas (Cardiff , 2020-07-09)

#59

The loss of this funding will only have a detrimental impact on woman and will lead to reinforcing the issue as to why it was set up in the first place.

Ruth Arnold (Bristol, 2020-07-09)

Because we have a lady training on sit with us at the moment

to cease something life changing, career shaping, which also tackles inequality, limited career development opportunities for adults at this time is impoverished in thinking. We need to grow a resilient workforce which will develop our country and build our future on strong foundations. Short sighted - please change your mind..

Mandy Appleby (Hereford, 2020-07-09)

Charlie Hargreaves (Newport , 2020-07-10)

#113

This shouldn't even be a petition, it should just be a given!!

Elisabeth Nevele (Chorley, 2020-07-10)

#114

We desperately need more women in construction and this is an excellent scheme to do just that, what do you gain from scrapping it other than money, there will be less skills, diversity and above all its peoples lives you are playing with

Natasha Humphries (Scunthorpe, 2020-07-10)

#120

I work in construction in Cornwall where we are a very poor county. CITB need to ensure people with protected characi, in this case are women, can access the industry or it will be a man's arena for decades to come. CITB should be ashamed of themselves.

Allison George (Saltash, 2020-07-10)

#124

I really wish this was available to me when I started in my career and I definitely think had it been other females I know would have chosen this option too!

Rachel Owen (Doncaster , 2020-07-10)

Sexist why can't they work if have correct training .I know this is possible as I know a female worker

Sarah Aston (Cardiff, 2020-07-10)

#164

I know someone who is on this project, and without this she could struggle to find work and pay her bills, this course is a life line for alot of women and to be so close to finishing the qualification losing it now would be heart breaking

Luke Porch (Cardiff, 2020-07-10)

#166

I think a stronger female influence in the building industry will significantly improve it with more collaboration and joint problem solving that goes on at the moment.

Peter Dickinson (WIGAN, 2020-07-10)

#167

It's a succesful project that needs to have continuity of funding. We tend to have 'initiativeitis' - this is one that is working so deserves continued support and encouragement.

David Hedges (Llanelli, 2020-07-10)

#169

It's an amazing organisation!

Katy Shanahan (Lancing, 2020-07-10)
