My kids need School! We should have had a choice to send our kids to school or stay home but we were never given a choice!

Rachel Ohrmundt (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

#410

I agree with all of the above provided. The children deserve a chance to be in school for optimal learning, socialization, safety, and mental health. Thank you for your efforts in supporting the kids during this time.

My children need a full education with their peers and their teachers.

Jolene Kulas (Wausau , 2020-07-30)

#416

I believe it is urgent that we open up the Wausau schools. With estimates over 50% of these children are in homes that children/students are either ignored emotionally, or high risk for abuse, sexual and or physical. A lot of them are also nutritionally ignored.

Tonda Nicholson (Schofield, 2020-07-30)

#419

My child needs the social engagement of in-class learning.

Taylor Breyer (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

Erin Oestreich (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

#431

I believe that my children need to be in school to be successful at learning. I have one who requires extra help and one who is a high acheiver. Both need the classroom setting for different reasons.

Sharon Jagodzinski (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

My son stuggled alot with the vurtual learning. Also some of the assignments he had submitted wouldn't submit correctly so those assignments were considered not handed in

Melissa Soczka (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

#440

My son deserves to get the full education he deserves. He is 6 and doesn’t understand fully why he cannot go to school.

Leslie Meyer (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

I am a single parent with an only child and do not have the time nor knowledge of how to teach properly. Kids need socialization and face to face teaching. A split week would have been better than completely virtual.

Lisa Heil (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

#446

Our children need face to face education for proper education to occur. Virtual does not work, and the c.d.c. even says that open schools for in person is vital

Tom Hensel (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

#449

Virtual schooling is ridiculous and is depriving students of necessary peer interaction and proper educational skills and training.

Jessica Hensel (Wausau , 2020-07-30)

#451

Simply put, if it is safe enough for people to have children in childcare, schools should be open. Kids need in person schooling, and if that option doesn’t work for some, WAVE is their online option.

Suzie Blum (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

#453

I am the grandparent of a Wausau school student. The CDC and the AAP both recommend physical school for all students this fall. To not open schools would do great academic and social damage to children! With correct precautions this is completely doable. Have Courage!

Susan Vandertie (Green Bay, 2020-07-30)

#454

Kids need to be back in school!

Dawn Rohde (Wausau , 2020-07-30)

School board is not qualified to make a medical decision with this great of impact to the children and family

Todd Wunsch (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

#470

Schools should be opened, the risk of covid spreading via opening school is the same risk as sending all of the children to daycare.

Sam Lemay (Wausau, 2020-07-30)

#473

My children were left behind. My son has an IEP and his case handler had no idea how poorly he was doing and even forgot to attend the Hangouts meeting she suggested! I am thoroughly disgusted with the lack of education provided!!!

Jennifer Ferlitsch-Radtke (Wausau , 2020-07-30)

I have young kids that need a real education. Online spring and summer was a joke for Pre K so not expecting any better for kindergarten. My 4th grader (going into 5th this fall) did not excel online like he did in a classroom setting. My kids are suffering and it’s not right!!

Jamie Hoover (Wausau , 2020-07-31)

#517

I believe the CDC said it’s safer to have our children in school for their well being. I believe face to face learning is the gold standard. I believe virtual learning leaves kids behind.

Loni Korpita (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#522

I want my senior year ik there is parents that want there kids safe but online learning isnt teaching any of us students anything and the kids in special education are the ones hurting the most

Travis Peterson (WAUSAU, 2020-07-31)

#524

I believe students should be allowed back in school with ZERO adjustments to how life was "before COVID."

Tars Schneider (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#533

This is the right thing to do for children.

Joanne Leonard (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#535

Kids need to go to school

Jami Lex (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#548

It’s important for my child to learn face to face and get good instruction instead of being let down by teachers who haven’t been properly trained to virtually instruct them. Additionally, continuation of a lack of contact isn’t good emotionally. They need to have social interactions including sports like cross country, tennis, swimming, etc.

Kelly Seils (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#549

My kids need in person schooling, peer stimulation and other school activities. These 3 things removed from their lives has had a more dangerous impact than COVID.

Dan Schneider (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#553

My little granddaughter wants to start Kindergarten so badly.

Shelly Hoppe (Aniwa, 2020-07-31)

#554

I feel that as a parent we should have the right for my children to get a facecto face education like all the other schools around us our doing. Also for the special education studdnts to get a proper education nog be left behind like I feel they are not being thought of.

Cathy Richmond (wausau , 2020-07-31)

#555

Because our kids need to be back in a controlled learning environment. I also believe this will do irreversible damage and many children will slip through the cracks and be lost in the system.

Don Streeter (Wausau , 2020-07-31)

#556

Virtual learning did not work for my daughter. All her grades slipped. She said she cried every night. Even two days a week would help. We have been wearing masks, and she has no problem wearing one at school.

Marne' Bruner (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#560

My children need in person learning with there teachers as they feel they have even fallen behind from staying at home.
Not to mention they need social interaction with there peers. Depression is real and it is affecting our children

Christina Streeter (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#562

Kids need to be in school. Not only for their school education but to learn how to interact with peers.

Brian Sell (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

It is important for many families to have schools open.

My Grandson wants to go back to school and needs to be back in school. He needs to be with other kids .

Michelle Nowaczyk (green bay, 2020-07-31)

#572

My daughter is a sr at West and she deserves to get her final year of high school education in person. Our teenagers need the peer to peer interactions and face to face with teachers. It is impossible to do fully virtual with 4 AP classes.

Corrina Merkkein (Weston , 2020-07-31)

#573

I'm signing because my 3 step kids want and need to go back to school. My 7 year year old wants to be with his friends and teachers and not be home all the time. My 13 year old loves school and does not want her grades to slip because of having virtual learning. Then there is my 14 year old who will be a freshman in high school and he also has IEP classes and for him starting at a whole new school and not knowing the teachers or the lessons him because at home will not work at all. He needs that structure and the face to face with teachers in order for him to try and do his best. Are kids need the interaction with other kids and there teachers for there mental health and socialization skills. Also does the school board realize that they are putting a lot of family in a financial situation because of this. I know for my family it has added a lot more stress and worry to are days. Trying to figure out what we are going to do as a household where both mom and dad need to work. Because of there decision of virtual learning I as a mom now have to leave my job to stay home and school my kids. They have put all working parents and single parents in a corner. Also them saying that they will take it on a month to month basis is ridiculous because they want to start the school year off with virtual learning and what a month or 2 months in they will say the kids can now go back to school for face to face well that is great for them but yet again what are parents to do at that point when one parent has left there job to stay home and then all of a sudden they can go back that parent or even single parent cant just get there job back now can they. Before the school board even made there decision I had told all 3 of my kids that if they would go back to school they would have to wear a mask all the time and they were ok with it. So why cant kids go back and just wear masks?

#583

My kids need to attend open school to get their education and be able to function as they get older in life.

Tracy Allen (Wausau, 2020-07-31)

#584

I am signing as we come from a household that has 2 full time working parents. Last spring when schools closed my 1st grader was bounced around between family members and trying to do virtual schools. It was very hard on her and was not beneficial to her learning. My child does not learn well virtually and needs the structure of classroom setting and interaction with staff and other students. The reality of the situation is my 2nd grader will not get proper education and will be behind and possibly taking the 2nd grade over. This is not a fair situation to my child or us as her parents. I support 100% opening school.

Danielle Synol Bergeson (WAUSAU, 2020-07-31)
