I love the shooting range. I need to know how to defend myself in any situation that threatens my life or my children. I need to know how to handle a firearm. Because I believe everyone has a right to make a living. Besides which, in South Africa gun shots are the order of the day, so rather in a controlled environment

This range is the closest to my house i enjoy safe sport shootin i am a active sport and hunt shooter. I can personally say that there is more shooting of illigal firearms in these "residential" areas than shooting on guns@work's premises.

Watson Rutherford (Centurion , 2020-09-22)

#47

I have frequented the shooting range several times in the more than 15 years I stayed in Gauteng. It is the epitome of professionalism and quality. Never did I feel unsafe or did I fear for any person that lives close to the facility. Enough precautions have been implemented at great cost to ensure thhe safety of the surrounding area, the people that live close and the properties around. The noise levels are contained and not a hinderence to anyone within a 3km radius.

Attie Botes (George , 2020-09-22)

I'm a tactical officer so I train there quite often, this range allows us to train to defend our lives and that of others so we need this range to stay open because the security and police train here to do our jobs ti the best of our ability

Michael du plessis (germiston , 2020-09-22)

#103

I am signing this because those who complain about firearms in the hands of citizens do not realise the seriousnes of taking away guns from legal and law abiding citizens and leaving guns only to criminals, of which laws do not apply to as they obtain firearms illegally and do not register their firearms, and to Police who cannot be everywhere at once to prevent bodily harm to innocent citizens.

Secondly, I am signing this as firearms in the hands of legal and lawful citizens can only benefit hugely from having a safe and secure place to train and become proficient in the use of firearms, not meaning they train to kill but meaning they train to be able to defend their own lives and the lives of those they are able to protect around them when the time arises.

It is tremendously stupid to say that firearm owners can have a firearm without having a place to become proficient in its uses... It makes no sense, imagine getting a vehicle driving license and never being able to use the vehicle untill the day a family member needs urgent medical care and you need to rush them to hospital but you have never been allowed to drive your vehicle and now under stress you have to for the first time drive.. best of luck not killing yourself or your passenger in the process.

Please use a serious thought process before trying to disarm lawful citizens or trying to remove a safe location for them to become proficient with said firearms.

Guns@Work is a fine establishment that I have personally made use of a would proudly recommend to any firearm owner and non fiream owners alike.

Nathan Coetzee (Boksburg, 2020-09-22)

#109

we need it to stay open and a great place to shoot

Ross Benigno (Germiston, 2020-09-22)

#113

Guns@Work is the home of the EAST RAND SHOOTING CLUB, it is the best facility available in gauteng and they have met all statutory requirements required. This facility promotes the safe usage of firearms, in a safe environment. It is run by some of the most professional and experienced people in the industry and does not deserve the reputation that it is having to hear is being spread by locals.

Lindzey Van aswegen (Benoni, 2020-09-22)

#117

We do training there often. It's safe and very secure

Ravyn Siccardi (Johannesburg , 2020-09-22)

This range has been around for ages - it is the safest range I have been to and operates within the hours set out by the law. People must get a life.

Francesco Coda (Johannesburg, 2020-09-22)

#130

All citizens of the republic have a right to own and operate firearms.
To do so safely requires active use and practice at designated ranges. Closing these down out of fears of firearm crimes is like closing down drivers testing centers out of fear of car related crimes.
The criminal elements of our society don't own legal firearms just as they don't own cars legally. It's completely pointless targeting gun ranges as they aren't the problem.
People have the right to own firearms, and it's societies job to make it sufficiently safe so that people don't want to.

Shaun Kristiansen (Germiston, 2020-09-22)

#131

I enjoy shooting as a sport and as a means to defend myself and my family.

JJ Siebert (Kempton Park, 2020-09-22)

#133

We need more ranges

Keegan Koch (Midrand, 2020-09-22)

#138

This is a professionally-run shooting range which provides a vital training venue for legal firearm owners. As a vibrant business, it also provides increased security to the area - if this business was closed the area would rapidly become a no-go wasteland which would be a haven for gangs and criminals.

Michael Brown (Johannesburg, 2020-09-22)

#140

The range is safe according to all its registrations and visits by the authorities....the noice levels spread to the surrounding areas falls within the barriers of their respective By-Laws.

I've been a member of the shooting club based there and where it was previously for almost 10 years. This is the most convenient location to shoot open air events in our vicinity. I believe a practiced shooter is a safe shooter, please don't remove our ability to practice our sport

William Buist (Kempton park , 2020-09-22)

#153

There are very few shooting ranges in Gauteng. Closing a shooting range deprives many citizens of the opportunity to use their firearms in a safe controlled environment.

Charles Marais (Pretoria, 2020-09-22)

#154

I love to shoot at proper managed shooting ranges.

Gert Brits (BOKSBURG, 2020-09-22)

#156

I'm signing because we live in a dangerous world and the only people you can trust 100% to protect your loved ones, is yourself. We learn how to swim so that we don't drown, the same can be said for firearms; we train so that when we need to use a firearm in defense of our own lives or the lives of others, we can use the firearm properly. Therefore we need places where we can learn to properly and safely handle firearms, places that are calm and safe to train.

Timothy Clark (Kempton Park, 2020-09-22)
