We need more park space. It's not about a little revenue, it's about quality of life. This district, and the entire west side region is severely lacking green and recreational areas. Cause or effect?

This has been an open space that I have enjoyed as a green space with my family (the golfing green). Even after the golfing shut down we would still see rabbits hopping through. The dirt hills right next to the river area are great for outdoor sport biking too! Please keep this area open with greenery and not cement for parking or storage!

Significantly concerned over potential toxins from this site, and the industrialization of one of the last bits of potential green space for west Long Beach.

I am signing because what happens in the lower reaches of the river affects the entire watershed. As a resident of Los Angeles, I am alarmed by the idea that the 3701 Pacific Place Project could proceed without a full EIR, and that the developer seems to have commenced various dangerous activities that show a flagrant disregard for both environmental safety and community wellbeing.

Further, I strongly object to the City allowing industrial zoning and use for this property when it had been committed as open space and parkland in City plans from 2007 through 2015, as well as being earmarked as necessary and valuable public parkland in both the Lower Los Angeles River Revitalization Plan and the Long Beach River Link .

The use of the land parcel as a storage, car wash, RV parking, office, and warehouse facility would be a lost opportunity to the West Long Beach community as well as the Los Angeles River watershed more broadly, and I add my voice in insisting that a full Environmental Impact Report is required before any further work proceeds.

This river-adjacent land is too important and too precious to be squandered in this way, not to mention that there are a plethora of related detriments including stirring up of contaminated soils, loss of amenity for users of Los Cerritos Park and the community in general, and declining property values because of the industrial land use. This is the wrong project in the wrong place, and makes a mockery of the extensive efforts to revitalize the Los Angeles River and take care of the wellbeing of river-proximate residents and ecologies.

The City of Long Beach can and must do better than this.

More park space in Long Beach benefits residents and visitors alike. Additional green space allowing for safe, outdoor recreation is much needed on this side of the community. This site should be reviewed (with an EIR) and not further developed as commercial property. A paved lot and parking for a storage facility - without full review and opportunity for public comment - should not be permitted to continue. Public funds should be earmarked for preserving or adding green spaces, and this site and the community would benefit from transforming it into a park rather than a concrete lot.

People before profits. A parking structure inherently is making money for vested interests. Parks can be enjoyed by everyone

Ivan Miranda (Long Beach , 2021-03-24)

build more parks instead. The zip codes by the freeway in East Long Beach have lower life expectancy (5 years) compared to residents of west Long Beach and more green space could improve health outcomes in the zip codes.

Raquel Miranda (Long Beach, 2021-03-24)

I do not want storage built. This should be used for a park or homeless center.

I am signing because this needs to be stopped. I am a Tribal member of the Esselen Tribe of Monterey County. We work hard to stop developers from doing what they are trying to do to your tribe and property. There had to be a full Environmental Impact report done.

Help with purifying the air. Always very good. . Ol Mother earth will thank us as well. Stop overs for migrating birds of all kinds.

I oppose a parking lot built at this site. A River park would be better suited at this location to provide west Long Beach with another green space that it is severely lacking.

I believe open space and trees are needed to sequester nearby freeway pollution. I believe developed spaces should not be in or adjacent to floodplains. Parks are what make Long Beach better than other LA County cities.

Regina Lugani (Long Beach, 2021-05-07)

Like most cities in USA, Long Beach has too little park and open space. And the west side of town is worst.

I support a long term transition of the major rivers to open space, with broad riverbeds that can handle floods intermittently, and provide green space in dry weather.
