The uncertainty of lockdowns being put on is on short notice and going in and out of lock down ruins the ability to have a routine.

I’m signing because the Year 12’s 2021 have endured 2 years of interrupted study. My year 12 also caught COVID last year and he’s been through hell. It’s only fair…please consider the petition

We haven’t had a proper year 11 and now we keep going into snap lockdowns that last weeks and it has really affected how we do in year 12 this year, we should get the same if not more consideration then the year 12s last year considering we have not had a proper year 11 and missed important topics in the curriculum

Jamie Toussaint (Melbourne , 2021-07-17)

I’m signing because I have been significantly effected by the lockdowns this year during my final year in Vce. I believe the distribution of the majority of my year 11 also contributes to the negative effect of COVID to my schooling.

Katrina Ratzlaff (Melbourne , 2021-07-17)

#630

I’m signing because last year as well as this year has disrupted my study and affected me in multiple ways that has had a negative impact on my schooling.

i’m signing this because i’m currently in year 12 and when i was in year 11, i struggled in units 1 and 2 because it was all over lockdown and i could say the same about unit 3 and 4. it’s been in and out of snap lockdown and it’s been nothing but stress on a lot of individuals mental health. i think the work requirements should definitely be reconsidered to be lessen for the next future generations such as next years year 12’s.

because the class of 2021 has at one lockdown every single term of y12, one day we’re at school normally and the next we need to be in online, we’ve literally learnt to adapt in just a few hours

Jasmine Lees (Melbourne , 2021-07-18)

#669

It feels like we’ve been constant uncertainty and never being able to adjust to a home or school routine
What we need is not for exams to be pushed back but for the study design to be amended
Thanks for making this Mia:)

I’m signing this petition as the disrespect and favouritism from VCAA is showing. Two lockdowns last year and they remove countless criteria from study designs for last years students. WE lived through those lockdowns during our 1&2 studies. We’ve had it just as bad as 2021 and refuse to believe that VCAA will not alter our study designs. Our 1&2 Subjects were impacted extensively throughout last years 2020 lockdown and now, 3 lockdowns into the “year that matters the most” and the year of our last schooling; Nothing has been done to benefit our wellbeing and study load. We were in lockdown 2020 as well, and where are the class of 2020 now? Graduated. Their results don’t matter anymore. Ours do. 3 Lockdowns into 2021 it is inevitable that lockdown 6&7 are approaching us. You must act VCAA as your students are struggling.

This years lockdowns due to COVID have deeply affected me

Domi Kaczmarek (Melbourne , 2021-07-18)

Last year we were also locked up, and although it wasn’t our year 12 we still were learning essential ground work for what this year holds. So not only have we been set back from last years riggers, but now we’re too being locked up this year. In my opinion we have struggled more than last years class of whom did actually get allowances, whereas we have not received any for both years.

Georgia Lang (Melbourne, 2021-07-18)

#702

I’m signing because our class has not only been impacted by COVID in year 12 but also year 11, we have not has ONE full term of VCE

COVID 19 has impacted the 2021 year 12s harder than that of the previous year through constant stoppages

Oskar Taylor (Mildura , 2021-07-18)

This year is more unpredictable than last year and dude to covid have fallen behind schedule with many subjects due to changing covid and the lockdowns not only us but many teachers are also stressed about teaching all the content in the time we have

Amy Hallett (Melbourne, 2021-07-18)

I am a 2021 VCE student and I truly believe that we should get some form of special consideration

lockdown has really affected my year 12 experience and ability to do well

#728

Year 12s are already under immense stress, which Covid has made worse. But schools and VCAA have done little to support students

Joshua Leslie (Melbourne , 2021-07-19)

#730

Our VCE has been affected overall more than 202's cohort and we should receive some consideration for that

Seb Poole (Melbourne, 2021-07-19)

#738

I fully agree with what’s been said, it’s been rough on my mental health with lockdowns to begin with, stress about the exams combined with the uncertainty is just boosting that so much.

Austin Schaap (Lilydale, 2021-07-19)

I am signing this because I am a student in year 12 and am finding it ridiculous that we have not had our study design reconsidered when we have been forced in and out of several lockdowns not only this year, but last year too. VCE is extremely difficult to undergo through remote learning and even more arduous when we must complete year 12 with a compromised year 11 learning, and constantly oscillating between immediate lockdowns and onsite learning.

Sona Hariharan (Melbourne, 2021-07-19)

#743

I'm signing because I have noticed in myself and in all of my peers a significant decrease in productivity and level of understanding across all subjects following these constant lockdowns and disruptions

Last years yr 12 students get it modified yet we go through all of VCE during the lockdown.. we deserve to have it altered

Grace Fraser (Grovedale, 2021-07-20)

#767

I'm also completing Year 12 during these difficult and challenging times this year. I believe, alongside many of my peers that we should be provided with an adjusted study design that will take the stress of the Class of 2021, and let them enjoy the final few months they have on their schooling.

Demi L (Melbourne, 2021-07-20)

#768

year 12 is a struggle in itself and yet we have had 2 years affected by covid

There is no doubt that the class of 2020 faced difficult circumstances whilst completing Year 12 which has been acknowledged by many and by vcaa. However, as a Year 12 of the Class of 2021 I feel as though we deserve the same, not only did we face lockdown and online learning in 2020 we are still facing it this year. We are now on lockdown number five, and what makes it worse is this year it hasn’t been a constant period of time in lockdown or a constant period of time at school there has been so many disruptions causing anxiety for many and the fear of possible lockdown looming is creating some unease amongst this years graduating class. Is there going to be a point where it is recognised that the Class of 2021 is facing the same hardship possibly more and yet you don’t see special circumstances being bought in for us. What are we meant to do? We are all trying and giving it our best but seriously, just take a minute to think about it. I recognise that we can sign as many petitions as we want and complain but we deserve to be heard and listened to and our opinions need to be taken into consideration. Thankyou

Chloe Rees (Willow Grove, 2021-07-20)

As a year 12 student who has not had one full term of vce, our foundational learning of units 1/2 being hindered in a way that previous cohorts have not had to endure and a final year of school full of restrictions and inconsistency in terms of education, I believe some action needs to be taken to ensure that the 2021 cohort has the best opportunity to achieve and succeed in what we have dedicated at least 13 years and countless hours studying of our lives to do. Also to further develop the skills and knowledge to succeed in our futures wherever they may lead us. Whether this be in a altered study design, a couple of extra preparation or some consideration in our atar scores something needs to be done by vcca, the education department and those in political power to make a change and consider the quality of education recieved by all students from foundation to year 12 and future cohorts throughout this pandemic.
