My year 11 and 12 was affected by COVID and I think VCAA should give us some consideration (and remove exams🤪)

Year 12 is hard enough without us being screwed around with 101 lockdowns this is ridiculous

not only were we affected by this years lockdowns, we were also constantly disrupted during units 1&2

I’m signing because the amount of things we didn’t have the foundations for last year because of lockdown that we’re expected to know this year is not helpful and causing a lot of stress to current year 12 students, and we’re struggling yet again because of having been in and out of lockdown with restrictions even when we aren’t in lockdown.

I haven't had a full term of school in the past two years. my motivation is at an all time low and constantly changing from online to physical school is a big disruption to my learning.

i am a year 12 student (class of 2021) and i believe that VCAA needs to alter the study design as we have now had 2 years of VCE in lockdown. we need as much consideration as last years yr 12’s did, if not more

My mental health has been affected significantly the past two years and I want VCAA to help assist us in our last year. The stress and impact lockdowns have had cannot be overlooked. We deserve attention, care and lenience. How is it fair that only last year's year 12 students get special consideration towards there ATAR. We have also been impacted in many different ways and yet we still have to act like our vce experience is the same as any other year.

I do not believe the way we have been treated is fair. Last year's class received a lot of sympathy & got an altered study design when they had to deal with being in constant lockdown. We, however, have had a poor VCE foundation, and just as much stress from COVID (if not more, since we keep going in and out of lockdown) as the class of 2020. Due to the current lockdown, I can now say that I have not had a single term of VCE that hasn't been disrupted by COVID. Not good enough from VCAA!

I am signing this as a current year 12 student as I believe last year as a year 11 I was affected by the Covid lockdown and I am now affected again. It's not only the content but it's also being at home and learning at home in an environment that isn't the best to learn in. Not having access to teachers is also not present

I am signing this Petition as I feel as though the class of 2021 is being disregarded by VCAA. I believe that it is unfair, to not grant year twelve students some form consideration nor assistance throughout their last year of study, especially because these students (including myself) have endured constant repetitive lockdown periods, which have negatively impacted our studies, knowledge, motivation and morale, for the past two years - To not give any consideration to year twelve students is not only inconsiderate, but wrong. I believe most if not all VCE students will agree when I say, that these constant lockdowns have made VCE a harder hurdle to tackle, jeopardising our scores and taking a toll on our mental health. To not consider these aspects when calculating our scores (subject scores, ATAR, ranking and other forms of internal and external assessments), will not only lead to miscalculations, but inaccurate results. Furthermore, I am sure that whoever is reading this, has found that COVID-19 has made work and or school very difficult to undertake, especially due to the fact that most of us cannot seem to adapt to the constant change of regulations, which permit whether we conduct our daily processes in a physical or digital environment. Given this, it has become very stressful for students to keep up with school, work and their social lives, as it is unrealistic to expect students to adapt to this situation and environment which is forever changing without warning - Thus, to relieve students of this stress, VCAA should do the right thing by us students, and provide us with consideration and assistance throughout our studies - whether that be through shortened study designs and or extra points towards the ATAR- VCAA should acknowledge that we deserve such considerations. You understand that COVID has negatively impacted all of us, it’s become a stressful time for all, including yourself. However, it is important to note, that not only are year twelve students stressed about the corona virus, loved ones, work, social lives, wellbeing and mental health, we are also stressed about VCE; a course which occupies us for most of our days, and places more stress onto us, especially because all of our assessments have been delayed; where they have been moved onto the same week, due to constant lockdown periods. For the past two years, the only thing constant that we year twelves seem to endure is stress, stress, STRESS. At least relieve us of this – give us SOME form of consideration, you know how stressful VCE is, despite the pandemic, now imagine what year twelves for the past two years have to deal with.. However, unlike last year’s group of year twelves, we have experienced this pandemic throughout ALL of our VCE studies, and we have yet to be given any form of consideration – Yet, the class of 2020 was granted consideration, delayed exam periods and extra ATAR points. All we ask is more the same accommodation, kindness, and generosity you have expressed to the class of 2020, for we are experiencing the same difficulties they have faced; over this two year period.

I’m signing this because I’m currently studying yr 12 in Victoria and we’ve all had enough of the lock downs and VCAA isn’t doing anything to help us

It is unfair for us to be learning the expected amount without the usual time, resources and facilities. These factors make it hard to learn

i’m signing because we are a bunch of stressed out teenage kids. last years year 12s had year11 to prepare them, we didn’t. for not of us we lack study tips, keeping up to date with work and handling stress/anxiety. now we are year 12 students lacking important aspects, and dealing with crazy amounts of stressed whether lockdown will be lifted the amount of sacs now being pushed back and the amount of content that has to be leaned in a short amount of time.

Lockdowns have greatly affected my ability to succeed in year 12

Ella Bingham (Melbourne , 2021-07-20)

Me along with many other victorians have struggled not only this year but last year aswell. We have had 5 lockdowns in the time of year 12 and just because they have been separated doesn’t mean they haven’t had the same effect on our mental health. Personally, I have been admitted to a psych ward this year due to mental health issues. I believe vcaa should adjust the curriculum to decrease our stress
