I’m signing because the study design needs to be cut down to take away some content, the class of 2021 has arguably had a worse VCE experience than the class of 2020 despite the length of this years lockdowns

I am in year 12 and I feel that we deserve the right to an altered study design due to our disadvantages from COVID-19 lockdown.

Amelie Marshall (Ballarat, 2021-07-20)

I am signing because I am apart of the graduating class of ‘21.

It’s bullshit how we don’t have a change to our school work but we have had more lockdowns during our vce schooling, my school hasn’t done any practice exams this year and they didn’t do them last year I already know I’m going to struggle on my exam with out any practice if u remove just one thing then I might have a chance to practice

I’m in class of 2021, and I think I can say on behalf of all of us, we all need a little boost up, we have all been affected by covid and these lockdowns, and it’s really affecting not only mine but my classmates motivation during year 12.

I am a year 12 student of 2021 who’s schooling has been negatively affected by COVID-19

The damn lockdown has happened during both my years of VCE and its time that y'all recognise the hardships us VCE students are experiencing during this time. Year 12 is a struggle itself and you people expect us to adapt to the on and off lockdowns because we've experienced it last year and should be fine now.

Makayla Bernard (Melbourne, 2021-07-20)

It’s unfair for us as we have to adjust to online learning and get put back to on site learning and adjust to that, then get thrown back into online and having to adjust to that again and so on. Yes class of 2020 was in lockdown for longer but at least they got to adjust to their learning and not have it change randomly every much

As a 2021 VCE student I must say that corona virus has disadvantaged year 12 students. It has affected the mental health of students as well as created a lack of motivation along with frustration as it feels like we are constantly going into lockdowns. This means we must do online learning which disadvantages us as we do not have the same classroom environment as we do through face to face learning and the process just makes it much more difficult for students as well as teachers. I believe that class of 2021 should get consideration in changes to the study design to be able to support VCE year 12 students such as myself.

I’m signing because I am a year 12 at the moment and I recognise all of the struggles my fellow peers and I are going through

because class of 2021 deserves to be considered too

I am a year 12 student that is struggling to continually adapt to sudden switching from face to face, to remote learning. This is a major disruption that should be taken into greater consideration and thought surrounding the adaption of year 12 students.

I’m signing because it’s been so harsh on the class of 2021. We’ve gone through all the lockdowns, sudden changes and unpredictable events that 2020 did, yet VCAA isn’t considering giving us special considerations? Honestly, how is that fair? And for everyone saying it’s fine because we’re ranked against each other, well, it most certainly is not. Not all of us have places in our homes where we can study thoroughly. For some, like myself, school is the only place where we could thrive and learn to the best of our ability. Now that it’s been taken away from us, how can we be expected to do our best in our final year of schooling? Do the right thing, VCAA.

Having lockdowns throughout our whole VCE journey has seriously impacted the mental health of a lot of students.

Jack Costanzo (Melbourne, 2021-07-20)

#1256

I believe altering the study design not only removes stress for students but the teachers who are struggling to teach their students to their full potential.

I’m signing because I am in year 12 and have struggled majorly with online remote learning during the lockdowns. The facts are that online learning is just not as effective as being in a classroom. Communication is extremely difficult online, misinterpretation of words occur, phrases are lost in translation and therefore key concepts are not sufficiently obtained. My ability to learn as well as my sac scores have suffered due to these lock downs. In between covid outbreaks I had felt like I was getting back on track, and starting to achieve the best scores possible then another lockdown occurs, taking us back to square one. This cycle has been occurring during my entire VCE journey, it has been nothing but draining and stressful.

I believe the class 9f 2021 should have compensation for the current happenings that are occurring in our current world.

Zac Bockting (Roxbugh park, 2021-07-20)

#1273

Because as a fellow Year 12 student and member of the Class of 2021, it's beyond a joke that the current state government is pressuring us into remote learning for the fifth time in the past 18 months. And the lack of reassurance they and VCAA, in particular, have given to the Class of 2021 of completing their last year of high school!!!

Jack Norris (Kyabram , 2021-07-21)

#1279

I am signing because the continuous in and out of lockdowns has greatly affected by ability to achieve my full capability, and the VCE study design should be adjusted to reflect all of the struggles and interruptions us VCE students have experienced over the past 2 years

Emily O'Neill (Melbourne , 2021-07-21)

#1281

It is absolutely ludicrous if last year gets special consideration for suffering solely one hundred days of online school when we are up around 174 and have now got huge gaps in our learning as well as under extreme mental strain due to the majority of schools not seeming to notice that just because kids are at home doesn't mean they should get ******* homework.
Maybe my lack of motivation is inspired by my own laziness? It's a possibility but***** me I have never ever felt this unmotivated, frustrated and angry about the disgusting nature of this year level's treatment.
Rant over. This sucks.

William Griffin (Woodend, 2021-07-21)

I feel as though we have not received enough support by VCAA. The class of 2021 have been affected by this pandemic has been both mentally and physically draining and therefore our education has been affected through both years of VCE.

Deanna Karamoshos (Melbourne, 2021-07-21)

#1286

I’m signing because i believe in what the petition is trying to achieve. the current year 12s have not only had to deal with the many interruptions this year due to covid but the lead up to year with the many days we had in lockdown last year

Rueben Pitt (Woodend, 2021-07-21)

the effects on year 12 students in 2021 have been compounded by lockdowns (and subsequent mental health issues) in 2020. Their year 11 studies were interrupted and for those in Victoria their year 12 studies also impacted

Im signing because as a year 12 who has never done a full uninterrupted year of vce due to covid its only fair if this is changed

#1320

I sign this as a year 12 in VCE who thinks the graduates of this year needs a consideration from VCAA I believe that due to the pandemic last year which is still occurring the year 12s of this year and last year had it rough, having to learn online was not easy and the fact that we are still doing online learning which is causing many students to stress and feel anxious about exams and assignments. I have seen many students having a meltdown in class due to not understanding work, since exams, atars and ect have been made to be a BIG DEAL to students for our future why not help us and give us some considerations than causing stress, anxiety which can lead to depression

Anet Ford (St Albans, 2021-07-21)

#1321

Year 12’s have to deal with stress of lock down and because they don’t have that face to face interaction that they need

Caleb Mitchell (Melbourne , 2021-07-21)

#1322

Year 11 was already stressful with our introduction to VCE being in lockdown but now constant random lockdowns disturbing our last year is added stress

Charlotte Edgington (Ballarat, 2021-07-21)

#1323

As a year 12 student I ah e been extremely disadvantaged with 2020 and 2021 lockdowns

Connor Lester (Thornbury, 2021-07-21)

#1325

disrupted studying puts vce students at a disadvantage, and is likely that our atars will suffer due to our second year of vce experiencing multiple lockdowns

Piper H (Melbourne, 2021-07-21)

This year and last has been ridiculous and we haven’t had a full term of school yet.

Various people haven’t developed the right study skills for this year, after having last years lockdowns.

Tahlia Watts (Melbourne , 2021-07-21)

#1351

Covid has caused significant disruption and negatively impacted my studies throughout Year 11 and 12. In Year 11, we were denied the ability to form solid foundations for Year 12 with the amount of time spent remotely learning. Learning face to face is so much more conducive to learning effectively and offers an experience that cannot be replaced by learning from a computer screen, particularly during these defining years of study.
Year 12 has proven to be equally challenging with 3 lockdowns that have again caused uncertainty, upheaval and mental stress and high anxiety. It has been an extremely challenging and unsettling 2 years.

I'm signing because as a year 12 student, I know the struggle and detriment last year's lockdown and this year's disruptions have caused year 12 students.

I have a daughter in year 12 - she's had 2 years of interrupted studies due to Covid and has had significant mental health challenges as a result - please help these kids out!

Samantha Fisher (Carlsruhe, 2021-07-21)

#1376

My son is in his final year of VCE, so second year of remote learning of the 2 most important years of his education. I fully support an adjustment for their curriculum this year, as last years Year 12 students had. Many, many students are struggling, and I’m fearful and anxious for their results this year if we don’t have a change.

Fiona Dorrity (Melbourne, 2021-07-21)

#1378

Because I am a year 12 student struggling with the constent switching between normal learning and online learning, I've been struggling to keep up everytime we have entered lockdown and know I could be doing much better then what I am, but have been struggling with the interruptions

Matthew Rodda (Melbourne , 2021-07-21)

#1384

2021 Year 12 students must be provided the same support as last year's VCE students. Coming out of lockdown to sit a GAT three days later is outrageous.

Kirsty Rosman (Geelong, 2021-07-21)

#1392

I’m signing because this year has taken a toll on many students and with the interruptions of lockdowns, it is affecting the wellbeing and mental state of students. So by altering the study design, will offer further relief for Year 12 going into exams.

Lydia Tompa (Melbourne, 2021-07-21)

#1398

I'm signing this petition because the students are at a disadvantage due to the constant lockdowns. My eldest finished Yr 12 in 2020 and my youngest starts Yr 11 in 2022. The quality of these kids education is being compromised and the toll on their mental health is too much. Please make some changes
