I agree with this petition.

I’m signing this because I feel like it’s a parents choice to make the best decision for their child. Also the mask makes my child who has asthma cough more when he wears one and feels his breathing is restricted while wearing it.

I believe it hinders learning and it's unsanitary for a child to wear a mask for over a certain amount of time.

Sue Nelson (Adrian, 2021-08-14)

#10

I should be able to decide if my child needs a mask or not

I’m signing because there is no evidence to show that masks are stopping the spread of the virus and by mandating such they are impeding on both parental & student’s rights. Our freedoms don’t end where other people’s fears begin. Stop the political crap and UNMASK OUR CHILDREN!

I DO NOT want my young granddaughter to HAVE to wear a mask at school. How cruel that would b! It is my understanding the infection rate of 4 and 5 year olds is very low.

Parent's should have the right to choose what's best for there kids. Mask should not be forced!!!

Randelle Osborne (Adrian, 2021-08-14)

I’m signing because I am a graduate of Adrian R3 that has experienced a masked mandate. I can personally say that the attempt to keep the community safe has lessened the quality of life and education of the children. The masks simply interfere with the learning process. For example, a child learning to annunciate words is unable to see the teacher pronounce said word.

It should be at your own risk no matter what. Optional is the way to go.

As a tax payer I support parents right to determine the health & safety measures for their own child.

The Board is not being fair and giving the parents a chance to vote in any decisions. As a parent, I have been uninformed of huge decision votes for the whole 3 years since i lived here. This board needs to show more transparency. It seems like only a few are speaking for a whole lot more people. If you are reading this comment, don't just sign this, but start calling and writing directly to them until they hear us loud and clear. Never give up, Blackhawk Pride!!

I am against mandatory masking at Adrian school.

I believe as a parent, I alongside my spouse, should make health decisions for our children.

Gretchen Thurau (Adrian, 2021-08-14)

It’s should be our choice!! If bigger districts aren’t doing it then why are we ??? If you are scared stay home and use the program. It’s that simple.

Jessica Pemberton (Adrian, 2021-08-14)

There’s no real threat to children and if masks work so well you should be fine if you would like to wear one as a highschool student I’ve become less active and grumpier and not as alive because I spend a lot of my day at school masked up give your students a right to choose even if you don’t agree make this year one for the students

Micah Link (Amsterdam , 2021-08-14)

Because I don’t want my son to have to wear a mask at school and I think that I should be able to make that choice for him

I’m signing this petition so that the parents and kids have there own rights to choose not to wear a mask or to wear one

Joshua Howell (Adrian mo, 2021-08-14)

They should be the parents choice not the school

Thomas Wiles (Adrian, 2021-08-14)

#64

I believe the children and parents should be able to make this decision regarding the child’s health.

Tim Self (Adrian, 2021-08-15)

#65

I think it should be left up to the parents

Steve Lewis (Butler , 2021-08-15)

#68

I believe that given an option kids are more than likely to wear them, then being told they have to do something

Krissi Piveral (Adrian, 2021-08-15)

I feel that until the State of Missouri or Bates County Health Department make masking mandatory it should be up to the parents.

Dale VanSlyke (Adrian , 2021-08-15)

#73

The parents should have the right to decide for their child. I believe with the information that is becoming available about potential problems of continuous wearing. A choice is the best way to go.

Robert Krogsdale (Adrian, 2021-08-15)

I believe it is unsafe for our kids to wear mask all day. There are many studies that prove this. Wearing a mask all day can cause lung cancer and lung problems. It is also a distraction to younger children.
I think it should be left up to the parents to decide if their kids should wear a mask.

Reanna Krogsdale (Adrian, 2021-08-15)

I have siblings that go there and nephews and I believe that they should have the right to choose if they want to wear masks or not. Because the facts of the matter are,. You can get covid with or without a mask on, and whether or not you are vaccinated. That's a fact. So a mask will not stop anyone from getting infected and they're not good for the immune system either.. maybe you should split the school half up (one side with those who wish to wear masks & the other those who don't want to wear them). We live in America. Land of the free. Our constitution gave us rights to our bodies and no one shall infringe upon that.

Kali Krogsdale (Adrian, 2021-08-15)

#78

I believe requiring children to wear masks is cruel and unnecessary. I live in America for a reason not to be subjected by fear and tyranny. If you truly love the kids then don't be a part of taking their childhood away.

Greg Smith (Adrian, 2021-08-15)

I have family who strongly support the AMERICAN RIGHT TO CHOICE in this and all issues!

Susan James (Maywood , 2021-08-15)

I’m signing this petition because I think it’s parents choice they can decide to bring their school kids to school or not or they can bring them with a mask or not

Casey Keyton (Adrian, 2021-08-15)

I feel strongly that parents/guardians should be the only people making the decision to put a mask on the faces of their children. As a parent, I’ve had a year now to see the negative effects of mask wearing on the mental health of my children. Nobody knows the children like their parents. The decision should come from the parents.

Ben Russell (Adrian , 2021-08-16)

I am signing this petition because I strongly feel the freedom to choose to if our children should mask up or not should be up to the parents. I have seen masked, unmasked, vaccinated and unvaccinated people still get COVID with and without complications. Per the American Academy of Pediatrics, Among 43 states reporting, children were 0.00%-0.26% of all COVID-19 deaths, and 7 states reported zero child death. In states reporting, 0.00%-0.03% of all child COVID-19 cases resulted in death.

Let the parents decide based upon the needs of their children to keep them safe!!

Not Mandatory but by choice

James Osborne (Adrian, 2021-08-16)

What's right for you may not be what's right for me.
And what's right for me may not be right for you.
But what's NOT right for both of us, is to be stripped of our right to choose what's right for ourselves.

Anna Whitaker (Adrian, 2021-08-18)

#111

I am signing because I believe giving a option is get a better outcome than mandatory.

Jennifer Fly (Adrian, 2021-08-18)

#112

I'm signing because my wife and I are responsible for making health decisions for our children. Making masks optional or "recommnded" would be better received than a mandate.

Jeremiah Patterson (Adrian, 2021-08-18)

#116

I am against mandatory masking for several reasons but first that we live in a free country which is being jeopardized.I don’t believe that a cloth mask will do anything to stop the spread of the virus and I believe it is physically and mentally unhealthy. It is a burden to teachers and staff and education has become secondary. I feel I should have the right to choose wether or not my son wears a mask and that the school is overstepping it boundaries, especially by enforcing a stricter policy than last year. What’s next

Daniel Trickey (Adrian , 2021-08-18)

#118

It should be left up to the parents to decide if their children should be subjected to a mask.

Ruth Chauvin (Adrian, 2021-08-18)

#119

it’s parents/guardians job to decide anything medical for our kids. It’s not the school boards job to decide what is best for my child’s health.

Jennifer Wilkin (Adrian, 2021-08-19)

#120

It should be the parents choice if their kid wears a mask or not. My kiddo is in preschool and it’s absolutely ridiculous to me that my 4 year old will be required to wear a mask.

Amanda Rowland (Adrian, 2021-08-19)

#126

These mandatory mask mandates are a joke. There is nothing even close in factual proof to say that kids need this. Check the percentages yourself. If your worried, then your kid can stay home. Wake up!!

Marques Nisely (Adrian, 2021-08-20)

I am a sub at Adrian, have a problem subbing if Mask are required.
