As a Class of 2017 Stuyvesant alumini, I heard fond stories of Mr. Tamosaitis from my friends as a well-liked teacher. Hearing the disrespect, sadness of loss wife, I believe he deserves all the verbal love possible, and his career at Stuyvesant will be a stable constant.

His age should not be ridiculed, and lighthearted insults especially during a sensitive time for all is a shame on the offenders. If his teaching is questionable, then try to HELP in anyway possible through communication and advice, not by insulting behind his back. Much respect to teachers and people helping out.

I am part of the Class of 2019. I had Tamosaitis for AP Music Theory about 4 years ago and I really enjoyed his class! He probably does not remember me but he is a wonderful teacher.

If Mr. T does leave, I hope it's because he's decided he wants to retire, not because he feels unloved by his students. That would just be a really unfortunate situation for everyone.

He was my homeroom teacher and honestly one of the nicest teachers in Stuy. Hes a true gem and shame on the students who would even think about making fun of a sweet educator. I never had him as a teacher for any of my subjects but he never once raised his voice at us. If he doesnt want to be a teacher anymore i can respect that. He should be where he is appreciated and not ridiculed and taken advantaged of.

Class of '21. Had Mr. Tamosaitis for Orchestra and AP Theory. Beneath the doddery facade is a man of passion and care. He showed unwavering support for his wife until the very end and used his creative talents to pay tribute to his treasured dog. He took great efforts to give us singular opportunities for group ensembles and master classes. During the pandemic, he made sure we could still make music from home, and he revamped the orchestra's YouTube channel. That channel tells the story of our orchestra, his orchestra. If you have any doubts about his ability, give them a watch.

Mr. T really cares. It hurts to see him wanting to leave because of our disrespect. I feel ashamed that I could not have shown him more love during my time at Stuy. It was an honor to be a part of that orchestra. Mr. T deserves to leave when he feels like it, and on his own terms.

Mr. Tamosaitis is not only an amazing person, but is also a mentor to me, not only in the Double Bass but in the general musical state of mind. His persistence through his hardships as well have been a lesson to me and I believe, countless others- the future generations at stuy need him.

I’ve really enjoyed being in Mr. Tamosaitis’s classes and it would be a shame if other students couldn’t have the pleasure of being in his class.

I’m signing this because Mr. Tamosaitis is an amazing teacher, musician, and person that many aspiring musicians from Stuy genuinely connect to and look up to. His passion for music has influenced me along with many others I know (even including the fact I never had a class with him and talked to him mainly during the end of the day). I really hope he stays as with every negative comment he receives, I’m sure there are many more positive comments that were not emphasized or clearly shown until now.

I've actually never had Tamosaitis as a teacher but I remember greeting him often in the halls or on the bridge back when I was in high school. It was always nice bumping into him during the day.

Although I've never had Mr. Tamosaitis as a teacher, I had him for homeroom (Class of 2020). He is so sweet and caring towards everyone, and he is an amazing person in general. It's sad to hear that the current students make fun of him. He deserves all the love and support in the world.

I really like having Mr. Tomasitis around and I always talk to him if I get a chance! I'm usually very busy so I can't just stop by & chat with him but if I ever had an actual lunch where I didn't have to work I totally would! I really like him.
