That the municipalities, counties, and regions create a Inter-municipal Transit Working Group to Link the Watershed

While the area has decent transit connections with Toronto, the links between destinations that are not Toronto are lacking. This is a serious accessibility issue. I'd further suggest finding ways to link Cambridge, Guelph and Brampton to Hamilton, either at West Harbour GO Station or at Aldershot.

Its a fantastic idea to have an inter municipal transit system so that people who work can find their way around these cities and also students can have much better connections between these cities. We can also look into having a common fare system in the future.

I am signing because this initiative is something that is long overdue for all Transit riders that need to be able to travel between all three areas.

Angelo Neziri (Kitchener , 2021-10-30)

The more transit offered now at the onset of growth the more it will become the standard use of the public in the future .

Aaron Rolson (WATERLOO, 2021-10-30)

#6

It's important to develop transit.

Greaves Teresa (Kitchener, 2021-10-30)

This is a great idea!

I'm signing because I think this is a great initiative! The TTC has been linking to its neighbours for as long as I can remember. It's about time for the Guelph, Brantford and Grand River transit systems to provide this service to each other. It will spur growth in all our cities and will open up the borders of these communities to easier access to what each of them have to offer the public.

Pamela Simmonds (Kitchener, 2021-10-30)

Better inter-city transit is long overdue. The need is there, the resources are there. Now it's time for the politicians to do their part!

Ken Vogelpohl (Kitchener, 2021-10-30)

It's long overdue that efficient and convenient local transit links be established between the cities in the Grand River Watershed.

I'm a transit rider in Waterloo Region. I would love to be able to travel more widely in the region without driving.

Alex Latta (Kitchener, Ontario, 2021-11-02)

#29

I support this as I am a regular transit customer

Barry Green (Cambridge, 2021-11-04)

As a Kitchener native, having proper public transportation between the Region of Waterloo, City of Guelph and City of Brantford (and other rural communities) would boost our already currently robust and diverse economy. Additionally, although they are all different CMAs, all of the communities are close enough and connected enough economically to be a metropolitan area similar to the GTA

Anthony Trinh (Kitchener, 2021-11-04)

We need transit to and from Guelph!

Esther Wheaton (Kitchener, 2021-11-07)

I live in Waterloo, and would like to attend numerous events in Guelph, but it's almost impossible because I don't have a car. This transit service would be life-changing.

Lauren Weinberg (Waterloo, 2021-11-09)

I’m signing because it’s important to increase the ability to travel between these regions without 5 hour transit rides!

I would love to visit Guelph and Brantford more, but there's no easy way to get there, especially on weekends

These connections between Guelph, Waterloo Region, Brantford and Cambridge are desperately needed - not only as a way to provide people with the agency to move more freely between the cities these routes propose to connect, but also as a crucial remedy to help manage congestion on existing infrastructure. (Infrastructure which was not built to sustain the increased traffic we will be experiencing between these regions in the years to come. )
This would also be a wise direction to take with respect to environmental concerns (GHG, etc).
Frequency of service would be pivotal in creating a successful system which individuals would feel confident in using.
If other bus/train systems (Go, Greyhound, Megabus) cannot or will not create these frequent connections, we must support this proposal.

I'm signing because we need more viable options to reduce the number of cars on our roads, and because I know that I would use a service like this.

Neal Thomas (Kitchener, 2021-11-29)

We need better links between Guelph and KW.

I think it would be awesome if something happens due to this! As someone unemployed in Kitchener it would give transit options to job search in other cities such as Guelph & Stratford, and depending on routing maybe have a regular scheduled route stop at the airport in Breslau. I was thinking for a while now maybe GRT & Guelph Transit could work together regarding transfers & maybe have a transfer station somewhere between the cities, looking at google maps perhaps at Victoria & Shantz Station where people could transfer between GRT & GT, and maybe to help people from Cambridge get there along with having a bus link to Breslau & the airport, have a route use Fountain on past the Loblaw - Maple Grove Distribution Center & go on past the Airport then get on Woolwich to go through Breslau to Victoria, busses from Kitchener could also use that routing to get to the Airport by getting on Fountain at Fairway.

It's long past time that we had reliable public transit between Guelph/KW/Cambridge/Brantford. I'm in Guelph and my (adult) child is in a supported living group home in Cambridge. We don't drive due to health issues, so being able to just hop on a bus and see him whenever I want would be a personal life-changer for us.

And we have to move towards reliable public transit if we're ever going to get away from an automobile society with every adult needing a driveway to park in, to be able to access provincial services that are not available in every city, and as a step away from personal vehicles and towards community vehicles as a move towards a healthier climate.

I am a transit user and having a link between these cities would be amazing for more job opportunities, visiting friends/family, and shopping. It would be beneficial for a lot of people and businesses.

Strong belief that mass transit empowers modern economies.

this project would benefit many of those in our communities, especially the least privileged

I agree with this

Vandit Mehta (Cambridge, 2021-11-29)

I'm signing because not everyone drives. Due to my low vision condition I'm not able to drive, so accessible transit would be ideal

As a student attending the University of Waterloo from Brantford, there is no legitimate way to commute to Waterloo without a car. This transit line would assist myself, and many other students, in commuting to the KW area using public transportation.

Sajid Bashar (Brantford, 2021-11-30)

#87

Please, better transit, please! I would visit me so much more of driving was not the only option. Please make this happen

Rebecca Stuart (Guelph, 2021-11-30)

We need better public transportation to facilitate community. We need to support each other, and transport is an essential!

Hannah McPherson (Kitchener, 2021-11-30)

#96

Given the fact that Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge and Guelph economy is so strongly integrated and the large amount of traffic between these cities there is a strong case for having public transit to the Waterloo Region.

Ibrar Sa (guelph, 2021-12-01)

#98

We need better mass transit options.

Matthew Ingraham (Kitchener, 2021-12-01)

Sounds like a wonderful idea to facilitate inclusivity amongst the communities.

Nastasia Hyam (Brantford, 2021-12-01)

Commuting along highway 7 is expensive and wasteful, but our transit system offers no alternative. We need better transit connectivity to reduce congestion.

Gregory Wolgemuth (Guelph, 2021-12-02)

Brantford desperately needs more transit options!

Emma Eu (Brantford, 2021-12-02)

I would absolutely use such a service and believe it could help many people.

Michael Stewart (Waterloo, 2021-12-06)

#114

We need more intercity bus services.

Chloe France (Waterloo , 2021-12-07)

#115

I have for gone career because there was no viable transit options. 2 hours each way to Kitchener is ridiculous. If those whom drive experienced this type of commute times changes would have been sought decades ago.

Blake Lymburner (Guelph, 2021-12-07)

I’m signing because I support transit over car culture. We need people out of cars to meet our climate goals.

Samara Carrier (Kitchener, 2021-12-19)

It's ridiculous that these cities have no viable public transport between them. The benefits will be immense.

I'm signing because public transportation should be more widely available.

Caterina Lindman (Waterloo, 2022-01-11)

I believe in city to city transport.

#128

We live in Brantford. My daughter is starting a 4 year program at the University of Guelph. As it is, she has to spend 6 hours a day on the current transit system. Linking the Watershed regions would change her life as well as open the world up for thousands of people who would integrate their work/education/living possibilities. A healthy growth for all regions concerned.
