This establishment is one of the only food options in our neighbourhood and has become a neighbourhood institution.

Eryn MacKenzie (North Vnacouver, 2021-11-11)

I support this business

#5

I support Invacanza pasta to stay on the north shore!

Leana Huberts (North Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#6

I travelled all the way to Canada just to try this.

Breanne Hanna (Aurora, 2021-11-11)

In Cavanza has been a great addition to our block, as a neighbouring business we have nothing but positive things to say. As a female owned and operated small business I would think the District of North Vancouver would want to ensure she can continue to run her business successfully. I am horrified she is facing these injustices.

Renee Erdman (North Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#13

This is ridiculous. Three small businesses will be negatively impacted by the illogical and asinine complaint of the some NIMBY landlords (who clearly ignore the fact most of us are unwelcomed guests on stolen land). In Vacanza is a wondering addition to the community and has made meaningful contributions since it opened. Please reconsider destroying people's livelihoods during a pandemic. It's kind of a jerk move.

Roanne G. (North Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#18

I’m signing because we need to support more local small businesses in the area. The operating hours clearly don’t conflict with one another so the argument makes no sense.

Karen Martens (North Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#24

Businesses like these help build community and contribute to the vitality of their neighborhood.

Frederique Lafontaine (Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#25

Pasta is delicious and the pasta truck is quite literally not blocking any access for any businesses.

Richard Klaus (North Vancouver , 2021-11-11)

#28

Because I love this small business and there is absolutely no reason why they should be forced to leave.

Jordan Hamilton (North Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#33

I'm signing because the joy that this pasta food truck brings to mine and my friends' lives is unmeasurable and their current spot is prime for that! The community they have created is so positive and they deserve to continue serving as they have been! ❤️

Samantha Matute (Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#36

I like the food truck where it is

Peter Pare (Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#38

In Vacanza is a cherished part of my neighbourhood, and I hate that this is happening to them. We need to encourage more businesses like this, not chase them away! Come on DNV, do better.

Brandy Bernard (North Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#39

I love this business they have huge potential and a very small foot print! Let them stay

Kirsten Walker (North Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#40

This is ridiculous. There is no rational argument that this little truck impedes the business of the neighbours. Landlord, you are putting 3 local small businesses in jeopardy with no legitimate basis for doing so.

Michael Urbani (North Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#41

I’m signing because the complaint makes no sense given the mentioned context which makes it an attack on the business for no reason other than to bully them. It is hard enough to find success in small business without owners needing to worry about baseless complaints and harassment. In Vacanza has an amazing owner and staff and is loved by so many in the community, so much so that they just won an award.

It is extremely disappointing that, seemingly, so little consideration would be given to the consequences of what is being asked here. A business may be forced to shut down, and people will lose their jobs. All of this with two weeks notice and no opportunity for the owner of the business to defend or even state her case.

I would ask that you please reconsider your request and allow In Vacanza to continue serving and enriching the community.

Chris Sefel (Vancouver, 2021-11-11)

#43

I love what this food truck brings in the way of much needed fun and community to North Vancouver. It is a treasure!!!

Luanne Svetelj (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#45

This is a wonderful business operated by a wonderful person. They live and work in North Vancouver. It sounds like there’s a conflict of policies at the DNV that needs to resolved. It also sounds like enforcing this may not satisfy the neighbours unless they can encroach on the Woods space also. Enforce the rules by all means, but it’s up to the DNV to ensure the rules are self-consistent. I would expect no enforcement until the responsible DNV departments come to a resolution.

Michael Procter (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#47

This is a wonderful neighbourhood establishment that adds such joy to the community. I live at Crown and Mountain Hwy just a block away and it is a very welcome business in our neighbourhood that everyone loves.

Additionally, this is a light industrial designated area and this is a very appropriate use for this space from a city planning perspective.

Annie Martin (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#48

Just because one business might be resentful of another’s success, that shouldn’t mean that they bring it down.

Marie-Josee Dube (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#50

I’m signing in support of small businesses!

Andrew Smith (Seattle, 2021-11-12)

#57

My husband and I recently moved back to the District of North Vancouver after living in Vancouver for 12 years. The District is lacking in food options and cultural experiences east of Lonsdale and this wonderful pasta truck has been a highlight for us. Would be sad to see it go so soon!!!!

Marianne MacLean (Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#59

We need great local business to thrive on the North Shore. It adds to our community!

Ainsley Ericksen (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#60

I support invacanzapasta and associated businesses and staff and their need to operate for three businesses and livelihoods.

Maxwell Smith (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#61

I support small businesses and I’ve seen first hand how InVacanza has grown to be a successful and beloved food truck in the North Shore.

Daniela Ugarte (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#65

I love the pasta truck!!

Morgan Olson (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#70

Love this neighbourhood spot and hope a solution can be found where everyone can coexist. We should be encouraging small businesses not making it impossible for them to thrive.

Alexandra Lyde-Stad (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#71

I am signing because there is no good reason to force In Vacanza to move. The owners of this establishment (which is a parked trailer!) are merely trying to make a living and it’s frustrating that they even have to deal with this stress for an “issue” that really isn’t one.

Alex Grammatikos (Langley , 2021-11-12)

#72

I love the food from this place and it complements the Woods distillery perfectly. It would be ridiculous to shut this business down.

Aleksandar Jovanovic (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#74

This is a grown residential neighborhood with few good food options. The business is closed when the truck is open so cannot be impeding customers of a business that is not open this sounds like a very petty excuse to close down a worthwhile addition to this neighborhood.

Sandra Moody (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#78

I support small business’ and this food truck is not hurting anyone.

Kasha Butler (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#80

People should stop being dicks. Small businesses have it hard enough as at is. These folks work hard and aren’t hurting anyone.

Jess Townshend (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#83

The food truck and its people are amazing

Jane Taylor (North vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#86

In Vacanza makes delicious and they are so nice! We love coming to Woods or Sons and having a drink and pasta. I hope you can stay!!! Such a great small business.

Joce Lyne (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#90

We need to encourage businesses like this to be in our neighbourhoods, they bring so much to nearby residents. It would be a shame to see them go for such a petty reason when locals enjoy their quality product so much.

Laura Benitez (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#92

Great pasta and ridiculous decisions from DNV!

Jackie Nelson (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#96

In Vacanza has abided by the regulations imposed upon them by the business licence under which they are legally allowed to operate. Should a neighbouring business take issue with the increase in foot traffic and exposure afforded to them, at no cost, by a legally operating business, there are multiple avenues of civil and reasonable compromise open- if, in fact, the operations of this neighbouring business have been unreasonably impacted. Private discourse should precede unlawful removal of a business from the premises.

Matt Budd (Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#98

In Vancanza is a unique and one of a kind food truck. I work down the alleyway and can’t tell you how amazing it is having someone like them providing the top notch pasta they serve to the area. Their collaboration with the woods and sons of vancouver has made it a frequent dinner and drinks date night hit for my partner and I, something very few in the spots in the neighbourhood have been able to do successfully. Demanding they move with this short notice is not only ridiculous but inhibiting the growth of a neighbourhood and an awesome local business we’ve come to love.

Gordie Rogers (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#100

Frick that. Pasta!!!

Rebecca Van Alten (Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#102

This is incredibly unfair. In Vacanza offers great food, has built a great following and a community and whoever complained should be ashamed!!

Claire Di Salle (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#103

I’m signing because this food truck has brought me such great joy and I know for a fact it does to others as well, let alone supports local businesses, gives back to the community and when I lived in North Van it was the one place I would tell anyone visiting as well as other locals that they must support this truck. Now I wasn’t to support them as best I can.

Shaun Huberts (Victoria , 2021-11-12)

#104

Lower Lynn is a growing residential neighbourhood that is already underserved with local restaurant/food options. In vacanza provides high quality food and excellent service at a great price and is an asset to the community. They service other local businesses (distilleries) that rely on their food service to increase business. This will have a negative impact on multiple local businesses and local residents.

Steve Mousseau (NORTH VANCOUVER, 2021-11-12)

#111

I love this place and I don't want it to go anywhere

Tyson Yurkewich (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#113

We need more small businesses & entrepreneurs like this around our home. It will only prove to bring a cool vibe to this area that is starting to be created by breweries & small business like this.

Dale Roadhouse (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#115

This is a great neighborhood addition. We need to support each other and create dialogue when there is an issue and find compromise. Why not look for a solution instead of a loss?

Sarah Reimer (Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#116

My family and I love the food here. If they are forced to move it may set a bad precedent for the future of food trucks in North Vancouver

Thomas Stewart (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#117

I'm signing because the food truck policy of north van is ridiculous. This business churns out great food, and I can't see how their business can possibly impact their neighbour when they literally operate at opposing times of day.

Tha area barely has any restaurants of any decent quality so making them leave is a blow to the community.

Graeme Baker (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#119

This business is a vital part of our community. A small business that kept many of us fed through the pandemic. Please ensure this local company remain in business.

Kitty Minions (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

I am a regular customer because I love the delicious homemade pasta, but I also love the sense of community this little truck has created.

Jeff Green (New Westminster, 2021-11-12)

#132

The food truck and the cocktail bars they serve are essential to this neighborhood. With the construction and industrial areas, they add charm and community feel which is needed to make this area live able.

Alicia Ditty (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#133

Invacanza has done nothing but positive things in that neighborhood. This is truly an outrage. Please fix this! Invacanza deserves to stay.

Jeffrey Norgren (Surrey, 2021-11-12)

I’m signing because this business is needed in our community.

Melanie Primeau (Burnaby, 2021-11-12)

#137

I love small business

Mark Kirsop (Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#139

This is the best pasta in North Vancouver! The pasta truck does not negatively impact, nor harm their neighbours and brings significant value to the area! (Where density is being added like crazy, but no new amenities)

Modernize the districts policy on food trucks so they have more flexibility in areas where they aren't impacting existing restaurants. The city is looking at modernizing theirs for brewers row. Breweries and distilleries should be able to offer food but can't afford the sqft to do so, making food trucks a great option

Evan F (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#141

The pasta is too bomb! It has to stay in north Vancouver!!!!!!!

Melanie Webb (Surrey, 2021-11-12)

#142

InVancanza is an amazing small business run by an amazing group of people. It has been a favourite spot of ours on the North Shore and it has been great to see this small business grow.

Kristie Taylor (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#143

This local business came from humble beginnings into a flourishing and successful one that has values local customers. The impact In Vacanza has has created a community of pasta lovers alike, creating and filling the gap of lack of great pasta in North Vancouver. Eryn has worked tirelessly and incredibly hard to get this business to where it is today - this is heartbreaking and unjust.

Kai Lee (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#146

I support this business and want to fight together for their right!

Eduardo De Souza (Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

Community is what its about. Small businesses is the keystone to the local immediate economy!!!

Nilo Du Plessis (Port Alberni, 2021-11-12)

#157

The two distilleries are some of my favourite spots in North Van. They would be incomplete with out In Vacanza. Their pasta is the best!

Jayne Mackinnon (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#158

This is a lovey local business with hardworking individuals who craft amazing pasta. The north shore would truly lose an amazing company if they let this happen.

Jonathan Austin (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

Local small businesses are the HEART of our community.

Crystal Cahill (North Vancouver , 2021-11-12)

#171

I have had In Vacanza’s pasta many times, it was delicious everytime, the owners are the nicest people on planet! North Van needs more street food vibe and they should be allowed to stay parked where they are and bring communities together!

Stepanka Sustrova (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#182

I’m signing because this is a excellent option of affordable and prime food… I can’t see why this food truck will have to move being in a non residential area and operating in normal business hours.
I feel we are privileged to have this option within a few min drive.

Hector Solis (West Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#183

My friend loves this place and it's really imporant to support small businesses like this!

Jazz Groden-Gilchrist (Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#185

I’m appalled at the request from the neighbours putting this small business at risk of closure, especially during this time we need to support each other and our local businesses. To the district of N.Van we need to make it easier and welcome businesses like this to open and thrive. It is essential and what makes a great community.

Leah Holloway (North Vancouver, 2021-11-12)

#198

The In Vacanza food truck is one of the pilar businesses within the Lower Lynn neighborhood. It provides a unique dining option in an area that is extremely limited and where there is a growing density of people living in the area. The business owner is a community leader who has provided stable jobs for people during a turbulent time, people who will be without this job, should the business be forced to close. It would be a mistake for this vibrant community to let such an amazing gem of a business be forced out of the neighbourhood.

Heather Van Balkom (North Vancouver District, 2021-11-12)
