Do not rezone the land in the corner of I-69 and Lower Huntington to commercial and/or medical.

We need this agricultural land. Animals need their habitats, and we do not need another hospital so close to another one! If we must have another, put it on the east side, where there isn’t one at all! This city is nothing but hospitals, churches, and strip clubs.
Bad decisions, bad placements, and bad environmental impacts.
Do better!!!

This would be an irresponsible use of this space, another hospital is unnecessary in this area, and would cause massive ecological issues for this area.

Bethany Curtis (Fort Wayne, 2022-02-04)

Keep rural areas rural need farm land nature reserves kept away from city

Sherri Miller (Ossian, 2022-02-04)

We do not need a hospital on the Southwest side of Fort Wayne . We already have Lutheran Hospital, please build southeast where it’s needed. Protect the wetlands and trees.

Alisha Furlong (Roanoke , 2022-02-04)

I don't believe in this project! Taking away more agriculture from Farmer's. Along with I don't belive we need any more Medical Facilities so close together. Please re evaluate this project!

Diane Radke (Columbia City, Indiana , 2022-02-05)

We have enough hospitals in that area and have a hard enough time filling positions at current hospitals.

Joshua Voirol (Auburn , 2022-02-05)

I do not feel that farm ground needs to be developed

Stacha Gochenour (Bourbon, 2022-02-05)

#237

I'm tired of seeing money grubbing hospitals , ran by big pharma ripping off the middle class with their ridiculous healthcare prices, and I'm tired of seeing beloved farm ground developed into hospitals and subdivisions

Stanley Cripps (Bourbon, 2022-02-06)

#243

Fort Wayne doesn’t need another hospital and that’s a great rural area that we need to maintain.

Trisha Scheible (Fort Wayne, 2022-02-10)

#248

These critical habitats must be preserved. We cannot continue to lose these spaces for other wildlife species.

Julie Roahrig (Bourbon, 2022-02-10)

I feel the land should remain as is. To destroy nature is another day deducted from human existence.

Christina Stone (New Haven, 2022-02-12)

I’m signing because the quiet area will be destroyed by a mega hospital being built on farmland!

Jen Reeb (Fort Wayne, 2022-02-13)

#258

I am signing because I want the area to stay rural-semi rural. We do not need a health facility in this neighborhood.

Ajay Gupta (Roanoke, 2022-02-14)

I’m signing because I’m against destroying an essential part of nature for yet another hospital.

I'm a resident in close vicinity to the potential project site; this would adversely effect quality of life, traffic, and safety for all those in the area.

Nicholas Gilman (Fort Wayne, 2022-03-02)

#272

I'm signing because I support local agriculture and because the Lutheran Health campus is only a couple of miles from the proposed IU site.

Bryan Gibson (Fort Wayne, 2022-03-05)

#276

Keep this area as farmland & single home residents like it is stated in sw4. We moved out here away from everyone for quiet rural living. Traffic is already bad & roads are not able to hold more & more traffic. There WILL be lots of accidents at the road of the proposed IU entrance. I will not feel safe driving that area anymore like I do everyday sometimes multiple times a day. Do not put in IU or any other business by our sw4 homes.

Kimberly Ladig (Roanoke, 2022-03-08)

#282

I'm signing because I believe it is critical to maintain this critical habitat. It is past time to value our environment over the interests of business.

Our wet lands are an important part part of the eco system.

Betty Wallace (Huntington, 2022-03-09)

I believe wildlife and nature deserves protection, as we are the ones coming and disturbing their space, they are not the ones disturbing ours!

Courtney Simms (Marion, 2022-03-09)

I don't agree with this project at this location. This area should stay rural as much as possible. Smaller buildings are understandable but I don't agree with a 5 story hospital.

The Little River Valley and the wildlife need to be protected.

How much more urban sprawl will we have? Wasn’t IU planning to build at Electric Works?
Is this a real need, or just completion on the market place?

Cornelia Schulz (Fort Wayne , 2022-03-12)

#302

I don’t our wetlands to be destroyed further

Christian Darmochwal (Fort wayne, 2022-03-13)

#303

I value the wetlands and open spaces. Please be sensible. We do not need another hospital there, it is too close to Lutheran. We do not need industry there. We need to care about the natural world and its value to our environment.

Sally Swihart (Fort Wayne, 2022-03-15)

#305

I am signing this petition because the protection of land use and protection of water quality is an issue that does not end in one spot affected, it spreads everywhere the water runs and touches.

Lauren Conklin (Fort Wayne, 2022-03-17)

#307

The development is already flooding nearby properties and destroying nearby wetlands and farm fields.

Jain Young (Fort Wayne, 2022-03-18)

#308

We desperately need medical facilities southeast and instead you want to build one next to another one that already exists?! Are you crazy?!

Mary Holbrock (Fort Wayne, 2022-03-21)

#309

This is an unnecessary addition of commerce to an area that should never have been considered a TIF district. This is intended for areas that need development…not more tax dollars out of the local residents’ pockets.

I oppose it for the unethical procurement of land, the development that has already taken place on what Native Americans lay claim to that has now been disturbed by IU Health’s preemptive actions, and the methods of getting variances approved via corruption involving the airport authority board and the seller of the land suddenly having an alignment with each other.

Patrick Borton (Fort Wayne, 2022-03-25)

#310

Their plans for continued building do not co-inside with the Airport fly zones and the landowners in the area will be responsible for the IU taxes since IU is a not-for-profit organization. There are plenty of medical structures already operating in the nearby areas.

I’m conscious

Lisa Reeves (Pendleton, 2022-04-12)

I see this as an unnecessary resining and building of this hospital. The hospital is a non-profit (meaning the entity is intended to not seek high profit margins, rather exists to serve a community with high quality service) . Building a hospital, within walking distance of another, does not fit the model of serving people with high quality services without incentive for a return or to overtake a competitor’s market share. As a citizen of this community I propose that the building of this hospital would not promote the wellness of the entire community but the wellness of the organization and I stand against it.

Jake Parsons (Fort Wayne, 2022-04-13)

#316

I'm opposed to the rezoning

Pat Lovellette (ROANOKE, 2022-04-13)

#319

This is a terrible location for this facility, both for the wetlands and the people of Fort Wayne.

Esperanca Camara (Fort Wayne, 2022-04-14)

#323

We do not need another hospital. We have two giant ones already. What’s going to happen, is they are going to develop a new hospital and put one of the other ones out of business and then we’re going to have an eyesore and A blight on the city for an indefinite period of time. I think it’s known that Lutheran is probably not doing well and they need to purchase that property. Fort Wayne needs to stop allowing all this expansion when there are all these older not fully or an occupied building throughout the city that we leave in developments wake. It’s wasteful and it doesn’t make the city look good.

Jennifer Jenson (Fort wayne, 2022-04-14)

#325

This area is best served to remain residential and agricultural, and top protect against environmental impacts. Furthermore, there is already a major hospital in the area. Other locations in Fort Wayne or the greater Allen county area would be better benefited by a local hospital (i see you, SE fort Wayne!)

Charlotte Marie Neeley (Fort Wayne, 2022-04-15)

#330

No need at that location - I69 has several hospitals of significance within minutes. Eastern or south eastern Allen county location would be much more responsive to community needs

Eugene Doctor (Fort Wayne, 2022-05-09)

#331

There appear to be enough medical facilities for residents to use within the proximity of this location. So, why are we destroying land that doesn't need to be destroyed? Follow the money. Who benefits from these profits?
