I do not believe NYC should FORCE Retirees into the Medical Advantage plan. I had problems with such plan in the past, and prefer to stay with Original Medicare with GHI Senior Care as Secondary.

Albert Trojanowicz (Middle Village NY, 2022-03-15)

#3008

I earned my benefits they should not be taken away by a union sell off for a pay raise that does not benefit a retired former worker

Thomas Vitola (Brooklyn, 2022-03-15)

#3009

I like my existing medical plan, I’ve had it since 1982, with no complaint.

Robert Zuffi (Staten Island, 2022-03-15)

#3013

The MAP is not being accepted by our doctors and our hospitals. I just had a stroke this past Wednesday and I would have no coverage

Luigi Scagnelli (Clemmons, NC, 2022-03-15)

I was promised free health care forever

Jan Sheldon (New York, 2022-03-15)

As a healthcare executive, and child of city workers, I am appalled by the lies deceptions and greed of individuals in government, the OLR and MLC who are trying to rob city retirees of their promised retiree health insurance.

Mitchell Fried (New York, 2022-03-15)

#3021

When I joined up in 1966 I signed an agreement , and now you change it after I retired ,after the game you change the rules , not nice, I'm 79 now , and I don't need this MEDICARE ADVANTAGE CIVILIAN RUN PROFIT MAKING ON MY BACK.

Bernard Eldredge (STATEN ISLAND, 2022-03-15)

#3029

I worked for and earned my benefits. The court has ruled that fees cannot be imposed to keep the health care benefits I earned. MAP is not equivalent to the benefits I earned. Do not waste taxpayer dolllars fighting the court decision for a bad deal. City retirees had the court’s respect, we need yours, Mr. Mayor. Withdraw the appeal.

I was an Assistant District Attorney for a total of 29 years. We were not unionized. We were never notified of these massive changes until August of 2021. But for my friends who are retired teachers, I would have had no idea what was going on. I retired in 2017 and was led to believe (as I was during my 29 years) that we would have supplemental coverage free for the basic plan for life. I do not want to be stripped of my right to have Medicare. There are other ways to reduce the expenditures. In addition, the process was not transparent at all to those of us who were managerial employees but not unionized. There is a concept of induced reliance. Many of us relied on what we were promised. Moreover I am troubled by the potential conflicts of interest in the methods used to fund the new plan and the methods by which the companies were chosen. Finally, to have commenced this roll out during a Pandemic and which also impacted so many who defended this city during 9 1 1 was immoral and cruel.

Susan Kane (Albertson, 2022-03-15)

#3033

I’m signing this petition because I, paid into Medicare for a very long time, and as part of my benefits I’m like many other city workers am entitled to the Medicare Benefits which we are entitled to and was promised to us as part of our contribution to Medicare for over 30 years , by the City Of New York.

William Melendez (Rockaway Park , 2022-03-15)

#3043

I can't afford to pay for health care.

Patricia Barbato (Jackson, N.J., 2022-03-15)

#3048

Do not want to be in any Advantage plan. I am disgusted with my union and Mulgrew. The UFT leadership no longer supports the best interest of its members. The city should save money elsewhere not on the backs of its retirees

Carol McEvoy (New York City, 2022-03-15)

My healthcare is the most important issue for me.

Lenore Layng (East Rockaway, 2022-03-15)

I need to keep my health care free as promised by New York City years ago. My Union isn't supporting this and need to make my voice heard

Stephanie Kavasansky (Rockaway Beach, 2022-03-15)

#3068

I am terribly disappointed in my union and the city. We gave our entire careers to serve the citizens of this city and then we are abandoned.

Glenda Lawrence (New York, 2022-03-15)

#3069

I worked until retirement providing the best service possible to the city.
To change to a diminished health plan that I have had for years is a breech of faith.

Michael Giovinazzo (Carmel Hamlet, 2022-03-15)

I live in Fl.my doctors told me they do not accept ANYAdvantage plans and not interested in NYC”s In addition, because of the complexity of Medicare programs and unfair compensation, they are leaving medicare period, SO, Im sure ALL THE PLANS, in this country, doctors do not want to spend more arguing for PRE APPROVAL, they. ARE THE DOCTORS, not a clerck with a pen and power

Michael Cullen (Tavernier, 2022-03-15)

#3082

We were guaranteed this health plan when we retired.

Terrence Hofler (New York City, 2022-03-15)

#3083

I am happy with my current health insurance . I have a dependent child who is only 21 and health insurance was going to cost over 600 per month . None of my MDs take Medicare advantage

Beth Torin (Ny , 2022-03-15)

#3085

I’m signing this petition because I am a retired nyc worker. I worked hard for the department of education, paid my dues and retired thinking that at the very least my health benefits concern was taken care of. I was wrong and everyone involved should be ashamed for what the unions and city tried to do to nyc retirees.

Robert Gerbino (Frankford, 2022-03-15)

#3087

No appeal

Roland Gorton (New York , 2022-03-15)

#3089

This is so unfair for city employees when we get lower salaries than private…
It is discouraging to stay and serve all your life only to be gutted on your retirement years…

Mary Peralta (Westbury , 2022-03-15)

#3090

You ought to be on the right side in this issue................that of retirees keeping the insurance we are entitled to.

I was promised free healthcare the day that I was sworn into the NYPD , all I want is what was promised to me and agreed upon when I signed on to this career. I am disabled due to a line of duty injury and on a fixed income . Please do not take away my free healthcare.

Michael Mazzella (Bradenton , 2022-03-15)

#3110

I do not want the NYC Medicare Advantage Plus Plan.

George Poventud (Selden , 2022-03-15)

#3113

I feel our new Mayor should support the retirees effort to maintain our current healthcare plan and not force this so-called Advantage Plan Plus upon us. Please Mayor Adam's, do not go forward with the appeal of the Judge's decision.

Cynthia Gilliam (New York, 2022-03-15)

#3116

I'm signing because it is unconscionable the way this has been handled. No transparency, no choice. If this MAPP goes through, we will have to pay almost $5,000 a year for my husband and me, PLUS copays. I understand the city must save money, but why on the backs of those who worked for less to serve the city we love? Shame on you all.

Carmela Dee (Roslyn, 2022-03-15)

Stephen wall (Sarasota, 2022-03-15)

I was shot in the line of duty saving the lives of people in Bedford Stuyvesant and am badly disabled. Have diabetes and heart condition and my wife has MS and has been through ovarian cancer. We are on a fixed income.

Donald Hudec (Jackson, 2022-03-15)

#3153

I'm a retiree who is happy with my current benefits and can't afford to pay $400 a month to keep it!

Clare Savage (STATEN ISLAND, 2022-03-15)

#3155

Medicare Advantage is profit making health insurance which is not in behalf of people, for the bottom line which means corners will be cut and our health care will be compromised.

Barbara Kestenbaum (New York , 2022-03-15)

#3156

The city never had premium healthcare for their employees and Obamacare only further reduced benefits. Managed care was never what I agreed to nor will I accept less than what was promised in my 20 years of service.

Jean E. Flynn (PEARL RIVER, 2022-03-15)

#3158

I'm signing because I am a retiree on a fixed income and this is not the deal I agreed to when I worked over 30 years for the City

Richard Siemer (Glendale, NY, 2022-03-15)

#3163

If you switch to the new program I will have no medical coverage

Gutleizer Shaya (Hollywood, 2022-03-15)

#3164

When I decided to become a civil servant and to receive much less pay for over 33 years of service, I did it based on the contract that stipulated that I will carry my health insurance into retirement. To force us now to pay for that insurance or to accept a lesser insurance that is much worse, the City breaks its contract to me after benefiting from our work at a cheaper price. This is not only unfair it should be illegal.

#3180

I want to keep benefits promised to me.

Susan Damiani (New York, 2022-03-15)

#3182

I’m signing because my husband worked as an assistant district attorney for 40 years. He kept his promise to protect and serve the people of Queens County, and now it is time for the City to keep its promise to him. We deserve to keep traditional Medicare and supplemental GHI Senior Care.

Susan Quinn (Richmond Hill , 2022-03-15)

#3186

Unable to continue cancer treatments if I have to go out of Medicare and cannot afford additional 200$ a month to stay with Medicare.

Pete Rivelli (Palm Harbor , 2022-03-15)

#3190

I’m signing because I trust that you will not burden seniors any more than we are already burdened.

Lorraine Faughnan (Newton, 2022-03-15)

#3191

This affects me and family

Richard Donovan (Jamaica , 2022-03-15)

#3193

The city wants to charge $190+ each per month per person plus $125 for per month per person for prescription coverage about 8 times total of existing costs
Retirees can’t afford that

Stephen O’Connell (New York , 2022-03-15)

#3195

I took a pay cut when I was sworn in as a Police officer in July of 1981. One of the reasons why I took a NYC job was because of the benefits that were available during my 20 year career and the retirement benefits that included lifetime medical benefits. NYC and the NYC unions are reneging on their agreement.

Frances DeBenedictis (Lindenhurst, NY, 2022-03-15)

#3196

I don’t want a Medicare advantage plan. I’m retired and was promised free health care.

Gaetano Bruno (N Y, 2022-03-15)

#3198

I’m concerned that the new plan offered by the City will not meet the same standards as my current plan. I have confidence in my current physicians and do not want to loose the ability to continue with them. I’m also concerned that pre authorization for every little procedure or test could impact my health if this process delayed medical care.
