Because I am totally against the MA Plan! I feel the traditional Medicare is best with no hidden costs. I think its unfair that the c City is forcing one or other & make them pay for the Senior care plan which was guaranteed free when we retired.

I’m a spouse of a NYC Retiree who has had major medical issues revolving cancer. She is doing well now but I want to be sure she will always have freedom of choice in selecting doctors and always getting necessary tests and treatments recommended by her team of doctors, and not decided by a for profit insurance company who has never met her.

Not happy with the mayors decision to fight or appeal this decision.

Vincent Sinnott (Queens NY, 2022-03-15)

Managed Care Health Programs limit their doctors and patients from obtaining full medical care when necessary. Original Medicare allows patients to use the service and we agree to pay deductibles because it gives us freedom of choice in selecting medical providers not only in NYC but across the counrty which the current Medicare Advantage Plan proposal WILL NOT!!!

I’m signing this because the City and Unions tried to force the Medicare Retirees into a Medicare Advantage Plan to save money for the City, Current employees and non Medicare Retirees at the expense of the Medicare Retirees. The Federal Government pays for Medicare Advantage Plans and the Company that runs the plan determines how the plan is managed and what is covered in accordance with Federal Regulations while making a profit. This savings is not be used to make a better plan for the Medicare Retirees but for the benefit of active employees benefits. The City and MLC not only support this plan but tried to force it on all Medicare Retirees. Their original plan was put all Medicare Retirees in the One new plan unless they opted-out properly in a SIX week timeframe with only ONE mailing announcing the change and the opt-out instructions. All retirees are unable to hold their Unions accountable for their actions. I wonder how many of the Unions informed and asked the active members for their opinions and support on restricting their future Medicare Retiree Coverage.

I am signing this petition because I faithfully served many patients and their families for 35 years in the City of New York. I was promised healthcare when I retired and should not be penalized by paying for my Senior Care Plan just because I want to stay with Traditional Medicare.

As a health care provider I spent many hours trying to get the proper care and treatments for some of my patients who were in managed care. MAPP especially when prior authorization is required may cause treatment delays which can lead to bad patient outcomes especially in the chronically ill person.

There is an article written by Shannon Firth, Washington Correspondent, MedPage Today, 2/11/2022. Please try to read this article because "A Third of Docs Saw a Patient Harmed by Prior Authorization--Treatment delays have led to permanent damage, disability, and even death."

Mitchell Dickman (Fords NJ, 2022-03-15)

#3488

I know that the original Medicare lays ghi senior care that we were given upon retirement is far superior to any managed care, which would be a step away from universal health care.

I am very concerned about change of medical benefits...it is a catastrophy.. this plan will have
detrimental affects on the lives of the retirees.
It is a private business that makes money by
holding back medical care.

The City is looking to save money by putting forth an inferior medical plan that many doctors and medical facilities know nothing about. It is ill-conceived and falls on the backs of hard-working employees who were assured that their plans would not change.
