I worked for NYC at lower wages for the lifetime free benefits. We deserve what we were promised.

Carolyn Huggins (Robesonia, 2022-03-19)

#5237

Everyone , including Mayor Adams, must realize how important it is for the people that retired live on a fixed income. It would create a hardship for many. Also our insurance has been a godsend for us. Why would anyone think its okay to change it

Barbara Bialek (Floral Park, 2022-03-19)

#5241

Leave our medical insurance
The way it is with no changes

Stop making decisions without the majority of members agreeing to do so

Lora Clowes (Dade city , 2022-03-19)

#5249

The plan already in place serves us well. It would cost each of us $2400 per year if we did not change to Medicare Advantage. That in itself speaks volumes.

Irene Sessa (Colts Neck, 2022-03-19)

#5252

I was an engaged and active UFT member all my working years. I admired and worked with Al Shanker for 21 years and then after he left continued to fight for the children and teachers of NYC till my retirement.
We ALWAYS gave up salary for retirement benefits which were to be free Medicare and free 20% supplement.
The attempted forcing of the Private Insurance betrayal called Medicare Advantage is unacceptable!!!
It is a betrayal of everything I ever fought for as a union/UFT Member since I started teaching at 19 years of age!!!

Marcia Robbins (Boca Raton, 2022-03-19)

#5258

My wife and I are 87 yrs old. I retired with vested interest. I cannot afford to pay the monthly fee to keep the health care I was promised for life.

Richard McBride (New York , 2022-03-19)

I'm signing this petition because the city's actions have been arbitrary, capricious, unlawful and will have an agregious negative impact on myself and all of the current retirees.

Against the thought of losing my guaranteed heatlth care that was promised as part of service to NYC for almost 26 years

The city should never have attempted to take away the healthcare that we were promised was part of our retirement package.

Janie Greenberg (Boca Raton, 2022-03-19)

#5270

I'm signing in because it's not fair for the retirees to be paying out of pocket ..... We shouldn't have allowed this to happen. The leaders should of have managed/pay attention to this better before it got to this point. Why they don't lower their salaries...

Lydia Cora (New York City, 2022-03-19)

LORETTA MAURI (Staten Island, 2022-03-20)

#5362

I am concerned that Advantage Plans are will be the downfall of Original Medicare. Then we will be left with a health care system whose goal is making a profit.

As the spouse of a retired NYC worker, I want the Mayor to allow us to keep the health benefits that were promised.

Philip MacDonald (Brooklyn, 2022-03-20)

#5377

My official retirement date is May 3. I am concerned for myself and the about-to-retire and future retirees who will not have the equitable healthcare that we were promised when joining the CUNY workforce. CUNY's healthcare plan with the city should have been a model of how other unions could move forward with equitable healthcare for all city residents. We should be addressing tax law to address tackle some of the many problems the city faces, including healthcare, food and shelter for all. Instead, we are moving backward. Let us stop this and make NYC the leader among cities caring for all its citizens, starting with those working for the city.

Judith Weiss (New York, 2022-03-20)

#5380

We MUST be able to keep the original retiree health care benefits we were promised we would have forever (WITHOUT financial penalty). WE MATTER! Our health matters. We will NOT be put into an inferior MAPP plan, which endangers our health, for the financial benefit of the City. This betrayal is obscene.

Judith Block (Bronx, 2022-03-20)

#5382

My family needs the full benefits for which they worked.

Margaret Duignan (Selden, 2022-03-20)

#5384

Dear Mr. Adams, In 2 month I will turn to 87. I’ll not be safe and able to get MA+P due to age and a line of health problems. Please do not confirm your agreement with this insurance. I Need to have my previous GHI Cinior Care Insurance without paying $191 p/m (my income is very low).
Sincerely,
Valentin

Valentin Golduber (San Francisco, 2022-03-20)

#5385

I believe they are trying to give retirees the royal shaft!! Cannot afford this Medicare Advantage Program!! Everything needs okays.....give me a break!

Nancy Fine (Lakewood NJ. , 2022-03-20)

#5386

The city of N.Y. Is changing an agreement made at our retirement.

Marion Manley (New York City, 2022-03-20)

#5388

I thought when I retired in 2008, I was set for life with Medicare and GHI. Many pensioners cannot afford an additional premium of $191 per person. My husband and I have health issues. I am afraid we will be denied with multiple pre-authorizations required by MAP if we need major surgeries or additional cancer treatments in the future. We don’t abuse the system, never have and never will. We have faced overwhelming anxiety and stress worrying about any changes to our plan. Our plan is not broken now so we don’t need to fix it.

Rose McT (New York, 2022-03-20)

#5390

The union leadership and the City of New York have been secretive in their contract negotiations and deceitful in their promotion of the the Medicare Advantage Plan (MAP). The move to the MAP will impose undue financial hardship on me.

Frank Devine (Staten Island, 2022-03-20)

#5392

I'm signing because I am appalled that NYC is so curtailing retirees healthcare that they were promised and have been counting on for years.

#5399
