Mr. S. Rountree is not only my uncle but he has been an influence in my life as an educator. Uncle Sam as he is affectionately known, has always been compassionate about his theatrical accomplishments. As a little girl, young adult and even as a mother, I have watched him be enthusiastic about what he loves and that is dancing and performing. To have the Booker T. Washington auditorium renamed after him and his auto will be a great dedication to all who he has touched in his 40 years. As an educator with Norfolk public schools myself now. I am proud to know that my uncle has been an influence to many people.
