My older cousin danced with Sam. I danced with Sam. My younger sister danced with Sam. As of May 2022, our ages are 53, 40, & 28. His influence has spanned decades. His legacy should live on.

Both of my daughters and my cousin danced with his dance companies…He is/was an awesome theater and dance director. His performances at BTW were always entertaining stellar performances.

All Mr.Roundtree ever wanted was for the students of the Academy of the Arts to be the best they can be ! I’m very grateful to him for all he has done. if you don’t sign this , I can’t believe you have the audacity & the unmitigated gall to not do so lol . He deserves it!

I see countless displays of Mr. S. L. Roundtree's students' success and poise as rawly talented individuals who are manifesting their dreams because of his guidance...

As I scroll through all the comments and see the countless words of praise, gratitude, and joy my heart is overjoyed. This is a beautiful way to honor the man that put his heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears into the arts. He lives his life continuing to show us all that people of color deserve access to the arts. Every black and brown student of the 757 can truly say that his words, jokes, nicknames, and love have touched us all. In my opinion, the school should be renamed Roundtree High School of Performing Arts, but the auditorium will do. :) WHEN this is completed, Mr. Roundtree will be "oversaturated with exuberance!"

Mr. Roundtree and that theater saved my life after some of the worst times I have ever gone through. He gave not only me but a lot of other students a safe space to be ourselves. He deserves this honor. An all of his students deserve this honor as a well.

I support this name change because Mr. Round tree has been an arts advocate. Mr. Roundtree has been around being awesome leader to my knowledge for over 16 years.. I support this decision .
