COVID vaccine Mandate

This Vaccine should be optional and not mandatory!!!

A close family member of mine received a recent booster and shortly later died of brain aneurisms. I recently received a mandated flu vaccine by BHS and was terribly sick for close to two weeks -leaving me unable to work my shifts for BMC.

Not to mention, but the CDC just recently released a no mask mandate for healthcare facilities where numbers are low. If we are now releasing mask mandates in healthcare facilities why are we still being forced to vaccinate.

I do not believe in the vaccine

Don't make them do anything!

Tyler Weaver (Washington , 2022-10-27)

#412

It is criminal to threaten peoples jobs and careers to force us to inject vaccines proven time and again to be ineffective, but that have shown greater than 10x the risk of any legal vaccine in causing serious hard, this is nothing short of criminal coercion!

I want a choice moving forward

Martha Rodriguez (North Adams , 2022-10-27)

#421

I am young, i want kids some day, i want a future not full of medical issues that weigh me down. There simply isn’t enough testing to make me feel safe about this in a long term sense.

Hope Mendez (North Adams, 2022-10-27)

#422

I didn’t want the first 2 COVID injections but I wanted my job. I don’t want the Booster but I feel as though I got the first 2 and I still don’t want to loose my job.

Jillian Naugle (Adams, 2022-10-27)

#423

Medical decisions are best made between a person and their health care provider, not an employer or politician. No mandates!!!!! Medical and Religious exemptions for COVID and Flu vaccines should be accepted by BMC. Great to see the push back.👍

Judith Zepka (Cheshire, 2022-10-27)

#426

Enough is Enough! I have taken both Phzir vaccines and now three booster shots! Working in the ED, we are exposed to Covid at all times, conducting searches and restraining patients, most times before even knowing the patient is positive. We put out health and life on the line daily for this hospital and this community. Now you return us to pre Covid sick time. So now if we contract Covid at BMC working, we are required to be off work for 5 days, and use our ET. And now you are mandating everyone to get the latest booster with No Proof it prevents infection of Covid!!! You say you are Committed to providing the best care and taking care of our community. Well, we as employees Are Your Community as well. Without us healthy and working you have no one to provide that care you promise the community. Take care of your hospital community First!

I feel this is a choice to receive vaccine and shouldn't be forced upon people!

Joseph Walton (Pittsfield, 2022-10-27)

#433

I don't appreciate being Bully, and when I received the Booster shot, I was totally sick from it

Julie A Gaylord (Pittsfield, 2022-10-27)

No one should be forced to take this vaccine everyone should have a choice.

Stefanie Koenig (49 Richmond ave, 2022-10-27)

#436

I DO NOT WANT THE VACCINE NOR DID I WANT THE FIRST ONE!

Do-Nadel Thiede (Dalton, 2022-10-27)

#438

im signing because i was very very sick the last time i got my covid booster. i lost 15lbs and have 0 appetite
this shouldnt be forced. we are already forced to vaccinated for the FLU and i have a bad reaction everytime but now this. its rediculous. if someone doesnt want it make them sign a form or something and wear extra PPE. CDC states the pandemic is over. and why now all of a sudden is it mandatory why wasnt it before? this doesnt make any sense to me

sarah gilman (Pittsfield, MA 01201, USA, 2022-10-27)

#444

I think this is totally unconstitutional to MANDATE ANY VACCINATIONS TO ANYONE! and then fire them for it! There will be lawsuits to follow.

Neil Thomas (Dalton, 2022-10-27)

#445

I am signing this petition because it is wrong to do this to your loyal employees and their families. They have been there when you and our community needed them. This is not just a paycheck to these employees, they put their hearts into what they do (and it shows in the care they provide). How can you force them to chose between supporting their families and being experimented on?

I am a patient and I have trusted BMC with the care of my family for decades. This mandate has me second guessing that.

But, as they say, follow the money: Are these facilities getting kickbacks to mandate these vaccines, providing Guinea pigs for the big drug companies and our government? Need over greed.

If all the staff walks away or is fired because of this ridiculous mandate, where does this leave the people in the community that rely on this facility? If BMC cares anything about their staff or their patients, they may want to rethink this before they have a hospital full of patients and no one to staff it.

Where is the union representation? Why are they doing nothing to protect their membership? All the employees need to contact their union representatives and demand to have a voice.

#455

This should be my choice

Melinda Nichlen (Pittsfield , 2022-10-27)

#459

It should be my decision to get a vaccine or not. So it hasn't proved to be effective.

Gerri Jakacky (Pittsfield, 2022-10-27)

#460

I'm signing because this vaccine/booster does nothing to prevent spread of covid, as per Pfizer's own words, and infection of covid only requires a mask for 10 days, as per the CDC's own words, therefore, whether or not an employee is vaccinated, has no effect on patients or other staff. The vaccine does not have enough data on long term effect. Two years is not enough data for a new technology to be forced into someone's body, which is MRNA. I say this as an unvaccinated patients with underlying comorbidities. Consent is important, and forcing a booster that will not affect the patients or other staff is just for show and has no real benefit towards the employees of BMC, nor the patients.

Kris Schaefer (Pittsfield , 2022-10-27)

#462

I’m am signing because I strongly agree with My Body, My Choice. Unfortunately I was wrongfully terminated due to not following BMC’s mandate in 2021. This should be a personal choice made by an individual and their doctor, not forced by an organization for their personal gain. It is and has been clear since the original mandate in 2021, that this vaccine does not reduce transmission or even stop the infection to begin with. Unvaccinated employees are not a threat to their patients.

Nicole Dyer (Plainfield, 2022-10-27)

#463

My body, my choice!

Kati Scheurer (Lee, 2022-10-27)

#466

No one should be forced to vaccinate

April White (Pittsfield, 2022-10-27)

#467

There is enough evidence to support that the vaccine does not prevent nor stop the spread of Covid. When the vaccine was first mandated at BMC, I was granted a medical exemption and within a couple months was pulled into a meeting with HR stating they were not granting medical or religious exemptions and if I didn’t get my vaccine within the day I was going to be terminated. Since I have a family I was left with no choice and received the first two mandatory doses of the vaccine. A month after the second dose I ended up getting Covid along with the rest of my household. I was the only one who was actually sick for days and the other 5 in my house were fine. There are so many things wrong with this mandate!

Cara Malloy (Cheshire, 2022-10-27)

#472

Do not want to get booster

Molly Majchrowski (Dalton, 2022-10-27)

#474

it’s crazy to me that I will lose the job that I love the most over a shot that isn’t going to change anything. We are still required to wear surgical masks and N95 masks especially in Covid-19 patients rooms. Staff members are still contracting and spreading Covid to other coworkers and even patients after everyone being vaccinated. I am one who can’t leave my job and it’s disappointing to me that I will be forced to get something that I don’t want in my body if I want to keep my job. I received 2 doses of the Moderna covid vaccine and just recently contracted covid from the hospital. I have never experienced a sickness so horrible to the point of being rushed to the ED because I couldn’t breath. I thought that being vaccinated was supposed to help the symptoms so that I wouldn’t have to come to the hospital for help. I really hope that they change their mind in mandating boosters because clearly the standard vaccine didn’t help me much.

lauren tremlett (Pittsfield, 2022-10-27)

#477

Like all medical decisions, they are based upon conversations between the patient and their doctor with the patient retaining full control over the final decision of treatment. Vaccines are no different. This unjust practice needs to stop.

Bartholomew Howes (Readsboro , 2022-10-27)

#483

I do not feel as though I wish to have this vaccination at this time, it should be my choice

Catherine Ross (Housatonic , 2022-10-27)

#490

I’m signing because the Covid 19 vaccine should have been a choice for our healthcare professionals. Many follow up studies have proved its effectiveness.

Casey Scott (West Halifax, 2022-10-27)

#491

I do not believe this vaccine should be mandated. We were not mandated to get the booster vaccines. Why this one?!

Jennifer Sumy (North Adams, 2022-10-27)

#492

I’m signing because I was wrongfully terminated. I was a new mom still breastfeeding and did not want to get the vaccine as I was unaware of long term effects for myself and my child. I worked through the worst of the pandemic and I believe it should have been my choice not to get the vaccine Instead of losing my job.

emily vaninwegen (stephentown , 2022-10-27)

#494

I’m signing because I have multiple family members and close friends who have been employed by BMC for years and have suffered side effects of the previous vaccine mandates.

It's important that people have a choice

Mary Kate Rodrigues (Elizaville , 2022-10-27)

I'm signing because I think it should be optional if I want it but not to be forced to take if I don't.

Joanne Taraskiewicz (Pittsfield, 2022-10-27)

#504

This is NOT a vaccine and does not prevent transmission. Bottom line is, MY BODY, MY CHOICE!

Laura C (Dalton, 2022-10-27)

#508

I do not feel that it should be mandatory they I have to get the booster shot when I am already fully vaccinated and wear a mask daily.

Josette Pavlick (Cheshire, 2022-10-27)

#510

I should have the option to wait and get a Covid booster if I Choose to, yearly

Saly LeBarnes (Hinsdale , 2022-10-27)

#512

Prior to accepting the previously mandated covid vaccines, I was a healthy 55 yr. Old female. Since my vaccination, I have been diagnosed with multiple auto immune related conditions that I feel are related to the vaccine. I am NOT a conspiracy theorist by any means but I DO feel strongly that I do not want to put any more of this into my body. I have spoken with many other folks, including medical personnel, who are seeing and hearing similar problems since being vaccinated. Please do not make me do this!

Joanne Wodecki (Lee, 2022-10-27)

#513

I do not believe in any forced vaccine that is not 100% effective

I’m signing because people have a freedom of choice

Domenic Negri (Chesh, 2022-10-27)

#518

I think it’s bad medicine to mandate medicine. I think education and informed consent should be enough, if it’s not, the last step should be incentive.

#521

We have rights! My body my choice

Jennifer Spagnuolo (Pittsfield , 2022-10-27)

It’s peoples choice what they do or what goes in their body’s. They should have their lively hood threatened because they don’t want a certain vaccine.

Amber Hertzberg (East Nassau, 2022-10-27)

#533

As the data and revelations continue to mount surrounding the COVID Vaccines, specifically the mRNA vaccines, I believe these vaccinations should not be deemed mandatory, and no staff should be terminated for refusing.

Joseph Solis (Dalton, 2022-10-27)

#534

I have followed with all the guidelines and gotten all of my vaccines, I have not yet gotten Covid. If I was to contract Covid I would have to use my personal/ sick time even after complying with all the regulations. I feel it is my right to decide.

Selenna Tremblay (Pittsfield, 2022-10-27)

#535

I’m signing because I believe everyone deserves the right to choose what they allow in their bodies. Allowed to be able to decided what goes into their child’s body. No one has the right to tell me what’s best for me. With how short staff our health care system is we should praise our men and women in the health field for all they do. Not terminated them for not following the government trying to control us.

Ashley Svoboda (Easthampton , 2022-10-27)

#541

In America we have a right to a second opinion when it comes to our health. We are all individuals that require different health care. Forcing an untested vaccine on everyone is dangerous for everyone's short term health and long term health. BMC's vaccine mandate is medical malpractice.

Timothy Billett (226 Cortland Ln, 2022-10-27)

#546

Mandated vaccination is wrong!

James Duryea (Dalton, 2022-10-28)

#548

It should be our right to choose what we do with our body ! I have multiple sclerosis, I’m on medication for it and who’s to say there won’t be an interference? This is not okay !

Amanda Lefebvre (Pittsfield, 2022-10-28)

#551

I have suffered noticeable cognitive and neurological deficits as well as a whole host of health issues as a result of the initial vaccine. Which I was not in favor of being mandated, but went against my core beliefs for the sake of stepping up when our country and health system(s) were taxed. I will not compromise my values or beliefs this time. For what? To end up with early-onset dementia? I have sacrificed blood, sweat, tears, sleep, time with my family, health, mental health, etc. for BHS and have not been appreciated for any of it. They can try and fill all the vacant medical positions with traveling nurses. But what are they going to do when 50% of the behavioral health clinicians and direct care staff resign over this? There's a reason every behavioral health unit under BHS is laughably understaffed. It's because there's no one to fill the vacant positions now! So we're going to close units that save lives every single day for a booster that has been proven to not reduce transmission? Sounds like a great plan!

Justin Winn (Pittsfield , 2022-10-28)

Jessica Bliss (Pittsfield , 2022-10-28)

#582

I do NOT believe in this vaccination mandate. They fed us with lies when it came out, supposedly it was to protect those who were elderly and with compromised immune systems....that was a lie! I recieved the first booster and came down with COVID two days later! The symptoms I had I thought was from the booster however I tested positive two short days later!
There are medications to surprwss the symptoms so why on earth fo we HAVE to be vaccinated! This is all a $$$ making scheme!!!

Kristina Cormier (Pittsfield, 2022-10-28)

#583

I had to leave a good job because would not get the vaccine...... I have seen people suffer after they've gotten it. I've seen Pfizers nine page list of side effects

Patrice Welch (Pittsfield , 2022-10-28)

#585

It should be a choice to get the booster, not mandated

Amber Quaker-Green (Pittsfield , 2022-10-28)

Near & dear to my ❤️ & soul! My exemption was denied in 2021 and that left me terminated from 17 years of service. FOR THE NOW BHS… Fairview Hospital! Never a missed day during the pandemic. I was never a risk and I knew it. This mandate is wrong and the SCIENCE DOES NOT BACK THE COVID -19 SHOT. THE PUBLIC IS UNAWARE OF WHAT WE HAVE ALL ENDURED. These mandates need to end and staff need their jobs back. In this together! 🙏🏻❤️

Jennifer Heath-Thomas (Great Barrington MA -FAIRVIEW HOSPITAL, 2022-10-28)

I have no problem with the booster, however, I don’t believe my coworkers should be forced to get it if they don’t want to. It’s their choice and I support their decisions.

Every American citizen, every tax pair every employee every human should be able to choose what they put in their body. No government should be able to dictate what we do to our bodies.

Christina D’Ascanio (Pittsfield, MA, 2022-10-28)

#596

Of all the above stated reasons! Mandating vaccines is about financial gain. I'm asking you to choose the value of your employees this time.

Stephanie Ramos (Dalton, 2022-10-28)

#599

I am totally against this mandate. Especially forcing the younger, child bearing generation to do this against their will, knowing full well they have little choice in the matter as they may own home, have children, etc. They need a paycheck and can’t easily move. These boosters have been tested on mice. Not enough data tested on humans. If boosters work so well, why are those boosted still getting Covid and spreading it to others.

Cheryl Bean (Becket, 2022-10-28)
