GROSVENOR LANE CARPARK- COLES DA

I feel strongly sbout retaining the shops in the area, and do not want to have Coles' development to disadvantage family businesses. Why do we need another supermarket, parking is an issue and this could be developed and keeping our businesses and the open space, so important and could be something for the community to enjoy with parking underground!

It is important for these businesses to survive as they offer a diversity of services which the residents use. I buy their products and services.
Coles/Woolworths should not have a monopoly!

Ingrid Orth (Sydney, 2023-05-05)

Council MUST included small business in any DA in regards to Coles application.

Maureen Ayre (Neutral Bay, 2023-05-05)

#212

Local communities should support the small local businesses.

Ruth Colla (Cremorne , 2023-05-05)

Blue and White Dry Cleaners would severely and unfairly affected by closure of the car park during construction.

This is my suburb and we
Love our small business community. We can’t let one large corporation prosper at the expense of many other smaller businesses

Christina Arciuli (Neutral Bay, 2023-05-05)

#217

I do not agree with the car park being included in the DA. It will hurt the small business owners.

Hannah Hetherington (Sydney , 2023-05-05)

#219

I would like to support small businesses in the area.

Rachel Doherty (Sydney, 2023-05-05)

#222

We don't need this.
Coles can just use the current Woolworths space.
We need zero impact on the small businesses in the square.
Too much developments.

Mark Bragg (North Sydney, 2023-05-05)

Devastating for small business and total obstruction

Colin Magree (Sydney, 2023-05-05)

#226

Because Council didn’t consultation with dozens of small business owners directly affected, potentially abrogating their rights in law and contract, causing an irrevocable trading disadvantage.

Raffaela Di costanzo (Cremorne, 2023-05-05)

#228

It will destroy the business of all the small businesses in the lane way as people will not be so aware to visit these businesses. It is not right.

Veronica Rainbird (Sydney , 2023-05-05)

I’m against neutral bay village changing! We need this as a village to keep small businesses alive

Anna Fonte (Sydney , 2023-05-05)

#232

I want small business to be protected & continue to serve the community as they do now

Mac Jacob (Mosman, 2023-05-05)

I support the vendors.

#235

It doesn’t sound like a fair & due process for local businesses

Niki Draffen (Neutral Bay, 2023-05-05)

#238

The devastation to small businesses will be enormous.
If the closure of Young Street at Military Road is any indication of what is planned, it will be an eyesore and of no benefit to anyone young or elderly. The car park as is, is most convenient for everyone.

Colleen Hearne (Sydney, 2023-05-06)

#239

I love the Neutral Bay village as it is. Cannot imagine our lovely village vibe being consumed by the unimaginative monolith that is Coles!

Greeny Green (Neutral Bay , 2023-05-06)

#241

I believe that all the small businesses should be taken into account in this project. Especially Blue and White Dry cleaners. An outstanding business established for over 50years.

I do not want the "small" retailers to be disadvantaged by any change

David Greig (Greenwich , 2023-05-07)

Coles is strong-arming the Council into granting consent to include Grosvenor Lane carpark in its development application, before the Council has completed its Neutral Bay Town Centre Planning Study due for release in March 2024. This shows no regard for the small business owners in the area, whose livelihoods will be greatly affected, in favour of self-interested developers. The consent should be overturned.

Barbara Sullivan (Neutral Bay, 2023-05-07)

#245

I am opposed to one organisation having control of vital public space together with the fate of multiple family run businesses

Janine Youell (Sydney, 2023-05-07)

#247

Businesses in this area are vital to continue and meet community need and should be protected. This community does not need development of this nature. Further to this, the proposed development will utterly destroy the village feel of this community shopping area. I grew up in this area, I still live nearby, and I am a loyal supporter of the small businesses here. If this proposed and ill thought out development proceeds, I will no longer shop here. I most certainly will not be shopping at Coles. I don't know who the development is supposed to benefit, but it is certainly not the current community and businesses. What is being proposed is appalling and should be stopped.

Sarah Coventry (Cammeray, 2023-05-07)

#249

This space is safe and convenient for the elderly to park and do their shopping.

Ashley Trotter (Crows nest, 2023-05-07)

#252

Coles is not needed here

Gordon Park (Sydney , 2023-05-07)

#255

I do not want to see our local business,s disadvantaged. Consultation with all business should be take place.

Christine Barnes (Neutral Bay, 2023-05-07)

#256

I come to Neutral Bay a minimum of 4 times a week & support many small businesses. It is part of the charm of the village. If Coles take over the car park as well, it will ruin these many small businesses. It will make Neutral Bay unfriendly. I will no longer come here.

Lyndey Milan (Sydney, 2023-05-07)

#258

I'm concerned about access to the Blue and White Drycleaners, the chemist, fish shop, Bronzalious, the chicken shop. I regularly access these businesses. The open air car park allows quick and easy access to these businesses. The pick up zone outside Blue and White Drycleaners is essential!

Diane O'Neill (Sydney, 2023-05-08)

#259

The collection of small businesses around the Grosvenor Lane car park are the beating heart of the Neutral Bay shopping precinct. The proposed Cole's car park, to be built above the council-owned land, will destroy this area by dramatically reducing the open-air feeling that surrounds these shops. Major shops such as Cole's and Woolworths are important anchors on a retail precinct, but the can never provide the feeling of community that smaller, independent businesses do. To lose the shops, cafes and service businesses around the existing car park due to the massive overshadowing of the proposed new car park would be an unmitigated disaster!

I don’t agree with proposals

Peter Bourke (cremorne, 2023-05-08)

#266

I’m strongly in favour of Neural Bay as a thriving local business community. The North Sydney Council’s abrogation of the rights of citizens of small business to have a say is despicable as is their apparent favouring of Coles with favouring their demands, over concerned local business. The deal stinks.

Martin Williams (Kirribilli, 2023-05-08)

Small
Business we’re not consulted before hand

Raffaela Di costanzo (Cremorne, 2023-05-09)

#274

This area is a vibrant and important part of life in the area, I use the local businesses there all the time. We don’t need more supermarkets.

Rob Morris (Mosman, 2023-05-11)

#275

There has been no public consultation re the significant impact on the current small businesses and the community who value this car Park enormously

Best interest of local business owners and community

I don’t believe a council carpark should be turned over to a private developer.

I frequent most of the businesses that surround the carpark eg Bay Coffee Roasters, Bakers Delight, Mr Gordon’s Chicken, Bronzalicious, Blue and White, Cosmos Florist and Momoyama. I believe none of these businesses will survive the Coles development.

Further I believe it is not in Cole’s interest for them to survive. It will be a huge loss to the community.

Also, I like the convenience of the above ground carpark.

Tracey McGearey (Mosman, 2023-05-15)

#280

This decision will kill all the small businesses fronting the car park. Many of which I use regularly

Helen Gillespie (Sydney, 2023-05-16)

#283

I regularly shop there on my way home from work.

Maria Danieli (Narraweena , 2023-05-25)

#285

I am signing this because three Cole s proposal does not demonstrate how all the necessary community consultation has taken place

John Phillips (Sydney, 2023-06-09)

#286

Neutral Bay carpark and surrounding businesses are vital to the community, providing small business to thrive. Coles taking over this site, will definitely see an end to this. Another corporate take over!
