This is trouble to the residents of our community. As it is we are already struggling with enough crime

Nawaal van der Schyff (Cape Town , 2023-10-25)

#11

I do not agree with creating another township in close proximity to Mitchell's Plain as it only creates chaos and mayhem when the residents will start protesting for whatever reason.. There must be other land available to re locate the people.
We do not welcome the relocation once again , like Siqalo, on our doorstep.

Sayed Dollie (Cape town, 2023-10-25)

#12

I do not agree to this Mitchell's plain is already hectic

Mariam Johnson (Mitchell's plain , 2023-10-25)

#14

It's going to be a big cause of electricity and water tarrifs and people waiting on houses

Mogammad sayed Rawood (Capetown , 2023-10-25)

#15

I don't agree with what the government is doing by putting people in housing structures that has illegally invaded the Langa Railway lines. To top it off there is hundreds of people within the Mitchell's Plain community that is waiting for houses that went through the proper channels and still after years did not get a house. I stand with what the NCC is doing because they are fighting for fairness and to give a voice to those people who are being ignored. What is this government saying to us? The only way we will get what we want/need is to go about doing things illegally? And throwing the law at those who speaks the truth, and they only using the law when it's suits them?

Gaynor Williams (Cape Towm, 2023-10-25)

#16

I want the trains to drive in Mitchell's plain

Grant Edson (Cape Town , 2023-10-25)

#20

Because the train it's the cheapest transport and we need our trains back

Darren Goliath ( Cape town, 2023-10-25)

#21

we have witnessed to many road closures when protests occurs in Mitchells Plain preventing us from going to work and when safety is of concern as we are barred from leaving in all directions. This will just add more to what we need to face everytime it happens. Many of the Mitchells Plain residents are still waiting for housing 20 years and more and while the City keeps them on a waiting list, illegal squatters get housing right infront of us while the list of residents get longer. This is bringing the value of property down. Mitchells Plain is being over populated and our Malls, Day hospitals and Hospitals cannot handle the amount of people as is. Causing more strain on a unsteady infrastructure. When people of the community tried to squat in protest of informal settlements being created in Woodlands a few years ago they were forcefully removed, that just showed who gets targeted.

Theola Peters (Cape Town, 2023-10-25)

#22

To stop the relocation from langa railway to phillipi

Juliana Lucas (Cape town , 2023-10-26)

#29

Mitchell's plain is already crime infested and if the people at Siqualo toitoi we stuck inside and cant get out so this will make it worse

Lyndall Flandorp (Cape Town , 2023-10-26)

#31

WE DONT WANT THE LANGA RAILWAY PEOPLE TO MOVE TO M.P..TOO MUCH CONGESTION ON THE ROADS..JUST TOO MUCH UNPLEASANTNESS FOR ALL..

Ruwaydah Raciet (Belhar, 2023-10-26)

#32

I am a resident in Mitchell's plain and also like many others have been waiting in the council waiting list for a house for 20 years

Nasief Johnson (Cape town, 2023-10-26)

#33

Because im from Mitchels plain and i believe that the people who are years on the housing list in michels plain should get first privileges for that housing...And most importantly we already deal with alot of nonsense from the informal settlement Siqalo already if they strike they hild us people of mitchels plain hostage

Damian Lambert (Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa, 2023-10-26)

#39

Mitchells plain is not a dumping group for homeless people. Provide houses to the people.

Fazloodien Abrahams (Cape Town , 2023-10-26)

#40

I dont want more people dumped off here in Mitchells Plain.

Randall Adams (Cape Town , 2023-10-26)

#41

I'm signing because I 2 sisters both are married and have children, they both with their families and my father lives in Mitchell's Plain, Beacon Valley, under the same roof.

They had been walking for houses but lost faith in getting a house.
Secondly I'm in the security industry and have seen people with living in shacks got houses, then they rent that house out to stay in a shack again and repeatedly get another house and do the same things.

Theirs no control of who is getting houses and does those things or selling the house that they got for free.

Lastly, about 15 years ago, when I was looking for a house to buy I've came across a few RDP houses that was on for sale, the prices ranged from R75 000-R300 000, my question is why do people get houses that does not need it.

There's a lot of people living in Mitchell's Plain as so called "back yard dwellers" why can't they get a house that they can call home

Ashley Raaff (Mitchell's Plain, 2023-10-26)

#42

What do they think mitchells plain is a dumping site where people can just b thrown in oh no go throw them in campsbay or sea point

Wallied Davids (capetown, 2023-10-26)

#44

Yet again the Mitchells plain community is being discriminated against and bring treated like second hand Citizens with no say to what happens in and around their communities. Again further being surrounded by black S/Africans to hold our movements in and out of our communities at randsom.

grant isreal (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

#45

You can't just move everyone into our area, we already struggle to go to work when siqualo protests... Our schools are full.. We as the coloured community and struggle to find good placement.. And we have our own coloured people in need to home.. Still apartheid.. Still moving people whereever you please.. As coloureds we can't live in a predominantly black community or township... We live amoungs black and Indians that actually do work their arsed off to be better... We pay rates and for water. While you moving people into our areas for free.. People that want a free life... GIVE THE COLOURED PEOPEL THE LANDYOU PUT THEM ON.. AND LET US LIVE IN PEACE

Nicole Fray (CAPE TOWN, 2023-10-26)

#46

I'm signing because Mitchell’s is not a dumping ground. Our people are suffering enough. Our schools have no space, there are no jobs, our sewerage system is terrible and now we need to accommodate illegal occupants!!! Place them SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

Malinda Okkers (Cape Town , 2023-10-26)

#47

Too much congestion and schools and malls already crowded

Granville Roman (Cape town, 2023-10-26)

#48

Mitchell's Plain is already overcrowded as it is and if there should be land given to people it has to be for the people of Mitchell's Plain and first.

Kevin Petersen (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

#49

I strongly object to the relocation of the illegal Langa railway squatters.
Mitchell's Plain is already grossly overpopulated.

Vanessa Warden (Cape Town , 2023-10-26)

#50

Against the relocation, why don't relocate these people to Constantia, to white areas, they talk about integration only into coloured areas? Why not to white areas?

Wilfred Gertsen (Cape Town , 2023-10-26)

Brian Warden (Motchells Plain, 2023-10-26)

#67

Mitchell's Plain is already overpopulated. Move those people to Constantia or Bishops Court. Displaced people are always relocated to Mitchell's Plain. Why do they get 1st privilege wrt housing when there are people who have been on the housing list for over 20 years already. This is just bullshit

Natalie Jacobs (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

#68

Mitchell's is already over populated as it is, why "import" more into our suburb?

Farhenaaz Apollis (Cape town, 2023-10-26)

#75

I'm against the relocation of the langa railway residents to the weltevreden wedge

Farzana Abdol (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

#77

Im opposed to the decision as its unfair and unjust. Coloured ppl are still back yard dwellers after do many decades and priority is being given to people who are not from the western cape. Secondly these people protest and create a problem to get access into Mitchells Plsin and to get out of Mitchells Plain.

Shamiela Abrahams (Lentegeur Mitchells Plain, 2023-10-26)

#79

There are people who have been on waiting lists for 30 years and longer and these people go and put up shacks on the railway line knowing they will have to be relocated at some point depending on government to give them housestake back to where they come from

I myself am a backyard dweller who has been on the waiting list since 2010 so if there is land available to relocate these people why not use the land to build houses for us who already live in Mitchell's plain.

Shehaam Eckard (Cape town , 2023-10-26)

#87

I'm signing because our areas are over populated already incl schools, hospitals etc we cannot take more people in our areas

Wendy Daniels (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

#88

The housing issue in Mitchell's Plain is already under strain due to back yarders waiting on housing. The infrastructure cannot accommodate another settlement. The Police Force is already understaffed in ill equipped and to add more people is more strain on them. Then there is also the traffic congestion on the only road leading out of Mitchell's Plain so I am absolutely against the relocation of the Langa Railway residents.

Ashika Ely (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

Informal settlements like Siqalo, Oasis and Egoli have been struggling without basic services like electricity for years because they are situated on private land and property owners refuse to give the City permission to provide those much-needed services. To move more people to the area is a recipe for conflict and disaster

Malika Vember (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

Deidre Fortune (Cape town, 2023-10-26)

#161

I feel it's very unfair towards our own people in our area that has been waiting for housing for years, our schools are already over populated due to students from outside our areas that attend,we can't even send our kids to a school of our choice in our area due to a certain % being kept aside for outsiders, our electricity & water bills increased drastically when the siqualo informal settlement was discovered as they receive the essentials for free but in actual fact we are paying to cover for them getting free services as nothing is free...the hijackings & theft of cars @ westgate mall is already a problem since siqualo was discovered,it will be even worst if another informal settlement must be placed there. We in Mitchell's plain already have to struggle to get to work & come home when siqualo's people decide to protest,it will be even worst as they will block the entry & exit thru varkensvlei if they should be placed there

Riefqa Meyer (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

#164

Why must it be here why not anywhere else in cape Town Mitchell's plain is already so congested by traffic poor communities as it is we are already struggling

Ruwayda Abrahams (Cape town, 2023-10-26)

#165

Residence of Mitchells Plain cannot be held hostage by protest to the level experienced with Siqalo informal settlement. It cost alot of tax payers money to repair infrastructure. Also vehicle hijackings have increased exponentially as well as smash and grabs on between Jakes Gerwel from Westgate mall to the R300.

Waheed Cassiem (Cape Town , 2023-10-26)

#168

Relocating the people of Langa railway will bring many problems for us in Mitchell's Plain and on the hand they built there illegally but now Government wants to give them homes which is unfair to many from Mitchell's Plain, thats been waiting for years for homes

Elrich Baatjes (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

This relocation will inconvenient people travelling Jakes Gerwel and Schaapkraal roads and will add to the existing crime in the vicinity.

Mogamat Khan (Cape Town , 2023-10-26)

#170

I am fearful that my freedom and rights will be embarked upon, Siqalo and Samora Machel, are already keeping me and my family, and community hostage whenever they feel like it, so what will make this any better, we have seen a rise in crime ,and this camps government is sending to my area, is even making matters worst, hijackers are rising, smash and grab,is at a all time high, we don't know of such crimes so plz don't send fresh teachers of these types schools

Dominic Tilling (Cape Town, 2023-10-26)

#171

I'm signing because we are fed up of being held hostage if this illegal squatters feel they need service delivery... Crime has escalated trimendously since siqalo has been erected... We are already surrounded by all these informal settlements. Our schools are overcrowded, crime is already out of control, more smash n grab incidents. Already no space for our children from Mitchells Plain. There are lots of land in the Northern & Southern suburbs. Seems like MP has become a dumping place for the powers that be. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

We have become the dumping ground of politicians promises to others. Promises we have to pay for with our personal safety and we'll being. There is wide expanses of land in Durbanville area, why not there? Why always far away from "them", this is still a separatist state.

To stop the relocation, it will cause chaos in the rush hour traffic, among other things

Lesley-Anne Losper (Cape Town, 2023-10-27)

I'm signing because I do not want the relocation to take place, Mitchell’s Plain is already unsafe and hugely affected by crime and gangsters! We do not need an increase in crime!!!
