Im signing because as a humanitarian I subscribe and live by humanitarian principles. Independence and Neutrality are the foundations of our work. Secondly the safety and security of our colleagues is compromised when leadership is partisan. We must speak up for all people affected by conflict, rapid onset and protracted emergencies.

The ED has not respected the principles of WFP that we were asked to adhere to and jeopardise all of us who are working on the front lines to be in danger if the HG would consider us all with the same side of the ED's taken

I was shocked to learn that our office in the UNDP building in Gaza had been bombed and people killed. I had been there so many times. We had set up an emergency coordination center on several floors of the building and connected the underground bunker, where many families of UN staff sought refuge during repeated Israeli bombings. When the bombing happened, 2 weeks ago, UNDP issued a strong press statement. I did not see any communication from WFP.

Because the same ethical and code of conduct standards should apply to all staff, even more on the senior levels.

I truly beleive that all UN staff, independently of our status, position or power, we must adhere to the humanitarian principles

I would like to see the UN do more to stop this humanitarian crisis after almost 2 months of conflict.

As UN staff, we have an obligation to uphold the principles of the UN Charter and to demonstrate impartiality, neutrality, and humanity in all of our actions, both professional and personal. The actions of the Executive Director undermine our work as the United Nations at a time of growing global food insecurity and malnutrition and amidst catastrophic conflicts and disasters that require a principled and impartial humanitarian response.

I am against Genocide and ethnic cleansing, and Israel is not only commiting war crimes but by allowing this matter to go on, WFP image and values are being put underquestion by both internal and external stackeholders... After all, either all life matters or only the selected ones that certain countries deem valuable or not due to personal interests...

We owe our best professional efforts and empathy to the people we work with, and we work for. Let us all remind ourselves why we started our humanitarian work, and lead our lives accordingly.

Dear Colleagues

Following on a recent petition "Urgent Call to Strengthen WFP Advocacy for Humanitarian Ceasefire in Gaza and to Leverage WFP’s Influence to Prevent the Use of Hunger as a Weapon of War" and based on the new developments since then including the recent engagement of our ED, the response of senior management and the resignation of WFP RBC Goodwill Ambassador of 13 years after failing to make her voice heard at the highest level in WFP on the use of hunger as a weapon. We continue calling out for adhering to the WFP mandate and WFP’s historical stands in times of conflict. This petition will be raised to the Executive Director, Secretary General and the Executive Board.

Please join us to sign this petition and circulate it to only among WFP colleagues.

If possible, please sign the petition with either your wfp email or the same name as your WFP email to enable us to communicate to you further developments and/or results.

The actions of the ED put WFP’s staff integrity and accountability to our beneficiaries and people in need at risk. Her actions have negatively affected WFP’s reputation.
