Marc Roggemans (OLV Waver, 2023-12-01)

#1010

Taking action to create a change for the better is cool! It’s genius!!

Amy Cluff (Saint George, 2023-12-01)

#1011

You are 100% right! What a genius idea!

Ruth Checkland (Ottawa, 2023-12-01)

#1018

I think people who wear glasses are cool

Bouvy Anne-Françoise (Charleroi, 2023-12-01)

#1019

Good job. Being smart shouldn’t be an insult but a compliment. Teddy proves this point with his actions.

Joel Ramsey (Ottawa, 2023-12-01)

#1021

Why not

Cannon Turkas ([object Object], 2023-12-01)

#1024

This is a lovely, thoughtful, considerate idea that I fully support. Kindness is simple & should be the default rather than casual cruelty. Why not make the world a nicer place? I can't think of any reason not to choose encouragement over derision. Good for you, Teddy!

Tisha Joy (Hamilton , 2023-12-01)

#1025

I’m signing because I too wear glasses and have as a child and it
I too find it offensive to have a ‘nerd’ emoji depicting all who wear glasses are nerds.

Lorri Mae (Lethbridge, 2023-12-01)

#1040

It is disgusting those emojis. They Hurt People. My friend dief on liver cirrose, he was whole yellow. These yellow colors are hatefull and racist against liver patients. Blackface is not ok, but yellowface also is not ok.

Koen Ceulemans (Brussels , 2023-12-01)

#1041

He's totally right.
Emoji's are not meant to insult people, aren't they ?
So Apple, Samsung and all the others : change this !!!

Marijke De Bal (Wetteren, 2023-12-01)

#1043

Teddy ís absolutely right!

Karen Vansteenwegen (Gent, 2023-12-01)

#1045

I completely agree that it is not right to have a 'nerd' emoji with glasses and buck teeth. Nerds are cool and this stereotype is just wrong.

Catherine Waterman (Chatham, 2023-12-01)

#1046

Well done Teddy. Keep acting on your beliefs and you can change the world, even if it’s a small piece at a time.

Deborah Cunliffe (Wrexham, 2023-12-01)

#1047

I am signing this because it's such a great idea ! People who wear glasses may be just short-sighted, not nerds .

Agnès Couvreur (Montignies-sur-Sambre, 2023-12-01)

#1050

I’m signing because I also find the emoji offensive and not cool. The teeth are also offinsive.

Anissa El Boussamaki (Antwerp, 2023-12-01)

#1051

I totally agree with the issues Teddy has raised, the Apple Nerd emoji can definitely be hurtful to both children and adults in its present form, both with its name and its appearance!

Lynda Daldry (Clacton on sea, 2023-12-01)

#1054

Sono d’accordo

Riccardo Schio (Spinea , 2023-12-01)

Matt Lewis (Barrie, 2023-12-01)

#1074

I am a teacher and my class and I agree with this petition

Holly King (Stowmarket, 2023-12-01)

#1076

For me is it also offensive

Patrick Van Hoogstraten-Van Geemen (Roosendaal, 2023-12-01)

#1077

I agree, Apple needs to react!

Nathan BEST (Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque, 2023-12-01)

#1079

I agree with you & love your new design, especially renaming it the genius emoji! Go you!!

Deb Laskey (Auckland , 2023-12-01)

#1080

As an individual who has worn glasses for over 40 years and being called a nerd during my childhood years, I don’t like the emoji either.

Tagan Lombardo (Port Dover , 2023-12-01)

#1081

I agree!!!

Zoe Klug (Richmond , 2023-12-01)

#1085

this is a gutsy action by a brave and wise lad

Michael Godfrey (Queenstown, 2023-12-01)

#1086

I'm signing because I have two sons who wear glasses and saw a piece about this petition on BBC Newsround. They both dislike this emoji too and agree it should be changed.

Lorraine Halford (London , 2023-12-01)

#1087

I wear glasses

Hayden Richmond (London, 2023-12-01)

#1090

Well done Teddy for standing up to silicone valley!
You are right it can be seen as offensive

Lyn Johnson (Timaru, 2023-12-01)

#1093

I have glasses and I also think the nerd emoji is unfair and rude

Brock Aldcroft (Aylesbury, 2023-12-01)

#1096

bro is the real genius here.

Evistix Nox (sceaux, 2023-12-01)

#1100

I feel that it's unfair that people with glasses should be portrayed as nerds. I think the genius emoji idea is genius!

Aiken Warner (Dartmouth, Devon, 2023-12-01)

#1104

I agree- the emoji is deragatory

Staycie Sena (Mission Viejo, 2023-12-01)

#1105

The emoji is needlessly offensive and racist (not in Google, now that they've made some fixes, but in other systems).

Steve Wardwell (Ossining, 2023-12-01)

#1106

This kid is brilliant and inclusive.

Kelly Allari (Aptos, 2023-12-01)

#1109

I want us to change the culture of judging people by their appearance - the nerd emoji is a very good place to start. Well done, Teddy!

Laura Warner (Dartmouth, 2023-12-01)

#1112

I wear glasses. Have for almost my whole life. So many beautiful eye glass frames out today that I feel sad for people who don’t wear glasses. Thank you Teddy! Way to represent!!!!

Dana Treitler (Long Beach, 2023-12-01)

#1115

I agree with the statements and never liked the emoji

Pim Melis (Leiden, 2023-12-01)

#1123

I support this petition because I always felt the same way about this emoji and also have a glasses-wearing child. It perpetuates a dated and offensive stereotype borne out of US movies.

C. P. (Auckland , 2023-12-01)

#1125

I agree with Teddy’s view!

Lynda Adams (Wellington , 2023-12-01)

#1132

Teddy's glasses make him look smart and intelligent!

Saar Belmans (Gent, 2023-12-01)

#1133

I love that your doing this. I wear glasses and not everyone who wears them are nerds.

Kent MacDonald (Penetanguishene, 2023-12-01)

#1136

Being smart is something that often is mocked. Changing the stereotype and the label helps everyone embrace who they are and to wear it with pride.

Sally Gault (Palmerston North , 2023-12-01)

#1140

I'm in full support!

Kseniya Kocherova (Tula, 2023-12-01)

I'm eye glasses person too

Artem Tolkachev (Prabuty, 2023-12-01)

it is just right - Revenge of the Nerds!

Frans Dijkstra (Muiden, 2023-12-01)

#1155

I fully agree

Joost Takens (Lisse, 2023-12-01)

#1168

This world needs to be caring and thoughtful to peoples feelings in particular children

Ann Tommey (Watford , 2023-12-01)

#1171

I agree with the petition

Rochelle Bargh (Auckland , 2023-12-01)

#1172

We can not accept people filing discriminating cause of teeth or glasses , so stop this Emoji

Kris Meeus (Tours, 2023-12-01)

#1173

I also where glasses.

Wendy Helderweirt (De Haan , 2023-12-01)

#1186

Fully support. Great work kid.

Andrew H (Wellington, 2023-12-01)

#1187

You're really correct Teddy! The nerd emoji was a stupid idea, and the genius emoji is amazing! ❌🤓

Jin Parker (London, 2023-12-01)

#1188

I have been short sighted all my life and I always felt like the nerdy kid at school, to the point where I would refuse to wear them. Wearing contact lenses from high school age then damaged my eyes. It is important to accept people as people no matter what they look like and no matter what they wear

Meg Hocking (Hamilton, 2023-12-01)

#1190

I'm signing because I have worn glasses since the age of 9 as I am short-sighted and I 100% agree with this boy that people who wear glasses deserve to be supported to feel that wearing glasses is a positive thing and to be treated inclusively, not marked out from normality by a cruel emoticon, like nerds or freaks in their society.

Robin Nicholls (Auckland, 2023-12-01)

#1194

I agree; the front teeth sticking out on the current nerd emoji, are horrible!

Wendy Davis (Coeur d Alene, 2023-12-01)
