Save The Trough!!

The positioning was integral to this persons business , many locals became accustomed to the convenience and familiarity of being able to go to the trough and grab a morning coffee and a snack before going on a beach walk.
The new car park design is horrible as well , you need a turntable or forklift to square the car into the parking spaces why would the parking spaces not have been at 45 deg ?

The space Kristine has created with her coffee trailer is an important community space where locals and the broader community can gather for not just a coffee but that connection and community spirit.
It's a crucial space and needs to be reinstated.

Great local business that is enjoyed by the majority in the neighbourhood

The Coffee trough is a much loved local business. I find it completely outrageous that the council would try and shut it down because of one person, especially when there has been no other complaints, plus it has no impact on this one neighbours life. The coffee trough also supports my small business by stocking my slices which helps me support and feed my children. When I do my delivery I park out the front for no more then 4 minutes, blocking no one.

I love the Coffee Trough! They make the best coffee & the lady that owns it is so lovely too. Support small business they say but then the local council do the complete opposite! Just ridiculous!

Onkaparinga council needs to support small businesses ☕️💪
We pay almost $1,800 to have a permit with the Onkaparinga council and what have they done to help out the food vendors?
I really hope The Coffee Trough gets to stay at 63 Tiller Rd, Seaford! Coffee vans & food vans bring the community together and help other small businesses in South Australia!
I wish you the best Christine and let's fight together! 💪☕️

Love Belle,
The Fresh Coffee of Belle-Air

Knowing people that live on this street that have no problem with the business. Should always support local business. At very least the council should have open communication with the business.

My work colleagues and I have been attending The Coffee Trough on Tiller since it started operating from there and have always received friendly, amazing service (and purchased great coffee) also giving us an opportunity to socialise with the greater community.
At no stage have I observed any levels of noise or amount of cars that would be considered an issue to any residents living next to or within the local area to this business.
We are saddened and at a loss to hear the news that The Coffee Trough has been directed to cease trading from here!!

Im signing because the Coffee Trough is an integral part of the community. It's a great place to meet people and have a friendly chat while I wait for my delicious hot chocolate. I think its vital that we support small businesses and the Coffee Trough should be allowed to trade from its home premises.

The Coffee Trough is one of the best businesses in my local community. I am a homeowner who lives off Corvette Rd, which runs perpendicular to Tiller Rd and Christine’s spot at the Coffee Trough.

On a weekly basis, I take my two young children and leashed dog for a walk down Corvette to visit “The Trough,” as my 3 year old calls it. I love this weekly ritual as it gets me, a stay at home mum, out of the house with two young children for exercise and an affordable child friendly activity. My daughter loves ordering the ice cream and swinging on the swings. She also builds up her confidence every week, learning to safely use the side walks and cross the street on our journey to and from “The Trough.” We also see other people on our walk down Corvette with coffee in their hands and stop for a quick hello, so it has been a great way to connect with neighbours we wouldn’t otherwise see.

As a stay at home mum, I love chatting to Christine and the other locals about the joys and challenges of raising children. Someone is always there with a smile and lifts my spirits no matter how tired I may feel. I get a kick of delicious caffeine to keep me going and positive reinforcement from the community. As a stay at home mum who doesn’t see a lot of people, this is one of the best activities we do as a family and is a positive in my post partum life.

We are saddened and disappointed to learn that one complaint has shut down this local business at such lovely spot. The energy The Coffee Trough brings to the community is priceless. Christine makes living in this area even more cool and desirable! As a homeowner, I love seeing entrepreneurs live Christine breathe life into this area. Bring back The Coffee Trough, please!!! In this economy we need good affordable coffee and friendly vibes. Such a small pleasure brings us locals so much joy!

This is a very important local treasure, fantastic community, so many people love and value this business, they should absolutely be permitted to trade from this location.

Nicole Lamprell (Aldinga, 2024-02-06)

The council should liaise with the owners of the business first before making any decisions. Anyone can put a complaint forward but there should be an investigation first before any decisions are taken.

I’m signing because this small business is a massive part of my morning routine and a massive part of my community.

Connor Bird (Adelaide, 2024-02-06)

#554

The coffee trough is an amazing little business, run by the most lovely people! My partner and I love spending our early morning grabbing a coffee on the way for our beach walks. The council should be applauding small businesses like this that help keep community connections alive and working together to sort out solutions for them to keep doing what they’re doing. We hope to see the coffee trough up and running again soon 🫶🏼

The coffee trough is a very valued and appreciated place in our local suburb. It would be a loss to Seaford if it was to close.

Sharee Duff (Adelaide, 2024-02-06)

I’m signing because the coffee is a beautify ran buissness that brings people and communities together and everyone should have an opportunity to share their craft with the world as a form of love doing what she loves !! If the neighbours aren’t happy they can go next door and have a formal conversation with her about that but that’s what you get living next too someone ! Shouldn’t need to shut down someone’s passion and dream

I love the coffee trough and this is actually ridiculous 🤬

Karen Galvin (Adelaide , 2024-02-06)

#575

The Coffee trough is a family & community minded business that brings people from all walks of life together. It is walking distance for a lot of the customers & it is even better that it creates a safe, secure place for our kids to play while we enjoy a cuppa. I do not often see a lot of cars there but when I have seen any, they are parking in the designated areas & not causing excessive noise

Karen Morrison (Moana, 2024-02-07)

I'm signing this because The coffee Trough has become a really happy place for us to go as a local in this area. We walk daily, I have a child who is homeschooling and sensory and feels very comfortable in this family friendly environment. He can happily order his milkshake from Christine and feels safe in this environment. She has a wonderful vibe and energy when you enter to get a coffee a beautiful spot she has created for the community. My son loves to lay on the swing she has provided and I get to have a moment of pure happiness sitting there, the sun shining down soft music playing and plenty of space for all the customers to sit. Everyone who goes there are friendly to one another, it the coffee trough brings a wonderful experience to this seaford community. I would be so disappointed 😞 to not be able to go sit and relax after or before my daily walk, which helps for mental health.

I support this business working from my street. It’s has allowed the community to get to know each other and its safety placed in a driveway not on the street.

Claire Ayres (Seaford, 2024-02-07)

#589

If council members attended this buisness you would see and understand no violations had been done. Everyone is respectful of street parking and follows all road rules ensuring a safe environment on the road. As for noise, it has not increased at all. Everytime I have gone for a lovely take away coffee, most people are quitely waiting to order or grab there coffee and leave, and for those that may take a seat and drink all talk at such a low volume the conversation can't be heard even 5 steps away.
This buisness is welcoming of all and has been a great asset to the community.

Laura Hue (Seaford, 2024-02-07)

We love the coffee trough and it’s despicable what the council have done and continue to do to make trading for these beautiful people so dam difficult
