I am signing in because I have been visiting O'Reillys since 1965 and realize the importance of having this road open from Kerry to the Green Mountains for visitors and maybe even staff who live in the valley. Have been on walks years ago and the bus would pick the walkers up at the end of the day and drive up the Duck Creek Road.

Local people matter. Tourism and jobs matter.

People need to have fun, and getting a 4x4 out on the trails is one of the best things people could be doing to have that fun. There needs to be more support to this activity and so, more tracks open and, the closing of tracks needs to stop.

I miss not being able to drive to or from the mountain on a different scenic drive.

I’ve driven this road in the past. It’s a beautiful part of the country. There should be more than one road up to O’Reilly’s. Don’t let it languish in disrepair. Future generations should be able to enjoy travelling this road.

I'm signing because I believe this wonderful road needs to be opened up again properly for the public.

I live at Oreillys and run my bike tour out on 17V through Oreillys it would be a huge boost for tourism and a safety feature if the one and only other road got blocked for whatever reason, it will definitely increase potential buisness for myself and the region it has historic value and will just improve the local area with a little bit of hard work I’d do it myself if they’d let me

My family has been using Duck Creek Rd for many years; it's not only a faster route to historic O'Reilly's, it's a truly picturesque journey that showcases the unique local environment. Please reopen the road, we miss it and would visit O'Reilly's more often if it was open.

There is no reason for it to be closed

It’s the best way to see the landscape, and a reason to drive to Kerry and Beaudesert.
I’ve had some nice times with my family driving through the area.

The opening of this road will enhance the experience of this area and the benefit of having more access roads to the amazong bushwalking experiences. It will increase tourism visits.

Motorcycles do very little damage and generally stay on track. Need more places to ride nearer the Gold Coast.

O'Reilly's needs a second road not only to allow access from another direction for tourists and workers but also for an escape route in case of a natural disaster.

Bernard Girard (Wakerley, 2024-02-16)

I frequent that area very often. I have travelled that road in the past. Reopening the road will bring more people to O'Reillys and the area in general. The drive to O'Reillys can be a loop rather than the return trip. Free up traffic volume also. If rebuilt with safe side stops for scenic lookout oportunity, it will also attract more people.

I would like to road open. I love O’reillys and to have an off roasting option to access this beautiful part of the world would be fantastic

I frequently bring overseas visitors to Lamington and DCR is one of the best areas to see some unusual bird-species, however is currently impossible to visit.

This used to be my favourite way of getting to the guesthouse. Cut the drive time of wonderful people who work and preserve the O’reilly’s tradition!

A good initiative to help local jobs & offer travel options to visitors of this beautiful area, a great idea.

This is part of the whole O’Reillys experience and without it it’s like operating a bicycle with 1 leg. Not a great experience.

Steven Spurgin (TBA, 2024-02-16)

#557

I travel to O'Reillys for Birdweek and holidays - only having one road in takes much longer (way too long if travelling from interstate) and if there is a fire then we would be in BIG trouble

Tina Copland (OFFICER, 2024-02-16)

#558

It's a beautiful part of the Scenic Rim, to not be open for people to experience.

Danielle Vermeulen (Beaudesert , 2024-02-16)

Love the old dirt road

Duck Creek Road is a wonderful scenic drive through a beautiful part of Australia that everyone should be given an opportunity to view first hand. Just so many photo opportunities and places to stop and take in just how spectacular the Gold Coast hinterland is.

Karl Weinert (Brisbane, 2024-02-16)

My father and uncle were involved in building this road and it would be great to see it return to what it was.

Mechelle Fechner (Brisbane , 2024-02-16)

It was one of the main reasons to visit oreillys. A beautiful, easy going off road track.

Bob Butter (Loganlea, 2024-02-16)

It’s absurd that this road has been left unopened for years. Consideration for those affected must be addressed immediately. Imagine that you or your family lived there. How would you feel?? Not only that, it’s beautiful country that thousands more would explore if the access was provided.
