STOP GAMING AND GAMBLING ADVERTISEMNTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

I am damn sure that, most of sensible citizen of India, must be worried about the ill effect of various social media. But, legally same as no censorship on OTT contents, Social media has also not much restrictions. But, this is the high time to start a movement through this petition, for sustainable, responsible and sensible use of social media.   Same as the time demands environment protection for unpolluted Air, Clean and enough water, Fertile land and availability of natural resources for next generation’s healthy leaving,  the time also demands the better characters of next  and present generation with unpolluted, healthy minds with morals and values. You all must agree to  the seriousness of Outer environment  and Inner environment both are of equal importance.   Social media is one of the most affecting factor for the young minds and future generation.  So, I am inspired to initiate this petition  to ‘STOP GAMING AND GAMBLING ADVERTISEMNTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA.’   Game of skill and Game of luck : In India all the gambling legislation has removed the Games of skill from the purview of gaming in India. There have been vast discussions regarding differentiating games of skill and games of luck, as games of luck can be considered in gambling as in game of luck a person's intellectual plays a very little role. Gambling can be understood in its 2 different forms in its traditional form as well as its modern avatar. In traditional gambling context it can be understood in brick, physical space and motor format, whereas in modern formats include internet, mobile phones etc. Unfortunately, now cricket and sports is also online gambling.   Unclear Legalities : Gambling Act also known as The Public Gambling Act,1867 is the law made to govern gambling in India. Gambling is a state subject, and only states in India are entitled to formulate laws for gambling activities within their respective states, Gambling laws as in India seem to be unclear and confusing. Judiciary had made an effort through case laws to provide transparency and clarity in laws of gambling, also considering recent technology changes in our society this has enabled more number of people to participate in this gaming activities. On line Gaming  and Gambling : Unfortunately the celebrity face of sports person and film Actor – Actresses are shown endorcing such games and gambling. Which, easily creates the impact that, the claims mentioned in advertisements are genuine and instigates the youth to follow, what their idol, models are telling in those advertisements.   Since, it’s online and programmed business module, naturally, the probability of loosing will be much more then the winning. This leads to loss of money for the players, but lucrative games instigates them to play double and finally the debts increases. There have been cases of suicide and crimes, due to financial loss through addiction of on line Gaming and Gambling. This is like termite, spreading fast and damaging badly to Youth and future generation of India. Usage or download of such games. Before it deteriorates our country, I request all to sign this petition and spread it as much as possible, so as to reach it to the concerned, draw their attention and force them to take some actions for these dangerous poisonous evils.
