Traffic Calming Measures outside school.Poplar St Midrand.

o Whom It May Concern

As residents of Noordwyk in Ward 112 - and of Poplar Street in particular - we strongly recommend that traffic calming measures be installed along the downhill section of Poplar Street, particularly near Midrand Primary School.

Due to the growth in the area and the increasing number of cars using the road, we have all observed the danger being posed by speeding cars. This is a danger to the children walking to and from Midrand Primary School and to all the domestic animals in the area.

Drivers do not observe the Rules of The Road, resulting in them driving at excessively high speeds down this 400m stretch of road. This poses a serious crisis to all our residents, and places lives in danger. Traffic calming measures have been implemented on a section of the road, but on the dangerous downhill stretch - they are non-existent.

Do we have to wait for a child to be killed in order for action to be taken?

Act now. Save the lives of our children and our pets. It is in your hands.
