Upplösa SARS i Nigeria #EndSARS #Endpolicebrutality

SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) är säkerhetspolisen i Nigeria vars mandat är att bekämpa rån och organiserad brottslighet. Men istället exploaterar människor i samhället. SARS använder sin makt för att kränka människors rättigheter. Unga Nigerianer är måltavlor vilket oftast slutar i att SARS dödar ungdomarna om de inte har pengar att betala mutor. SARS taktik är att angripa unga vuxna på gator och anklagar dem för cyberbrott enbart på grund av utseende eller vilken bil eller mobiltelefon de äger. Även om den de anklagar inte är skyldig kräver de stora summor innan de släpper personen. Detta har resulterat i tortyr eller mord om personen inte uppfyllt kravet.

Information från säkra källor tyder på att denna särbehandling av unga vuxna Nigerianer är ett systematisk förtryckning och korruption från högt uppsatta polischefer. Enligt källan levererar SARS en viss procent av pengarna de tar från folk till sina chefer, till och med den högsta polischefen i Nigeria sägs få en del av pengarna. 

Befolkningen i Nigeria har fått nog nu och protesterar i hela landet. Nigerianska regeringens svar är att skicka ut militär för att skjuta på folk på gatorna. Detta är bissart och oacceptabelt.

Jag vill att Sverige agera mot EU för att genomföra sanktioner mot Nigeria regeringar. Och att Nigerias regering måste lyssna på befolkningens önskemål och göra det som befolkningen kräver. Befolkningen kräver att att fem viktiga punkter genomförs av regeringen. Dessa krav kan uppfyllas på kort tid, men regeringar lovar endast med ord och ingen handling. Utan sanktioner är det svårt att får Nigerianska regeringar uppmärksamhet.

SARS (Special Anti-Robbery Squad) is a unit of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) whose mandate is to fight robbery and organized crime. But instead, exploits people in society. SARS uses its power to violate human rights. Young Nigerians are targets, which often ends in SARS killing young people if they do not have the money to pay bribes. SARS's tactic is to approach young adults on the streets and accuse them of cybercrime solely because of their appearance or the car or mobile phone they own. Even if the person they are accusing is not guilty, they demand large sums before releasing the person. This has resulted in torture or murder in some cases if the person does not meet their requirements.

Information from reliable sources indicates that this youth profiling phenomenon against young adult Nigerians is a systematic repression and corruption by high-ranking police chiefs. According to the source, SARS personnels delivers a certain percentage of the money they take from people to their bosses, even the top police chief in Nigeria (IGP) is said to be receiving some of the money.

The people of Nigeria have had enough now and are protesting all over the country. The Nigerian government's response is to send out the military to shoot people in the streets. This is bizarre and unacceptable.

I want Sweden to work with the EU commission to impose sanctions on Nigeria's governments. And that the government of Nigeria must listen to the wishes of the people and do what the people demanded. The population demands that five important points be implemented by the government. These demands can be met in a short time, but governments promise only with words and no action. Sanctions seems to be the only way the international community can get Nigerian governments attention.
