Validity of Saps psychometric test written in 2022 for applicants who underwent interviews and medicals

I am writing to respectfully request your consideration in a matter regarding the validity of psychometric tests written in 2022.

In 2022, I successfully completed the psychometric test for the South African Police Services recruitment process, followed by the physical assessment and interview in 2023. Despite my successful results, I was not among the candidates who were admitted to college due to the high volume of applicants. Undeterred, I continued to pursue my dream and in 2024, I was again called for the physical assessment of which I passed and interview of which I believe I did well.

I understand that the validity of the psychometric test is two years and unfortunately, my current test will expire before the second batch intake which is in January 2025. Given this timeline, I am concerned that I will again miss the opportunity to part of the 2025 intake, despite having passed all assessments twice without failure.

I do not wish to interfere with the recruitment process or instruct you on how to conduct it. My intention is solely to appeal to your understanding and compassion. I kindly request that you consider allowing applications of those that have their tests expiring this year to remain valid for the January 2025 intake, even if their test has technically expired. This consideration would recognise the consistent effort and dedication that they have demonstrated over the past two years.

In addition, i would like to also plead for those who are turning 35 this year, may they also be considered for the January 2025 intake if possible, even if their age has surpassed the limit. I understand that the age limit is an important factor at SAPS, but given the dedication, persistence and the will of those of us to serve and protect this country and all the hard work they demonstrated throughout all assessments without failure for two consecutive years, I hope you might consider an exception.

I want to emphasise that I do not intend this message to be a complaint, as I firmly believe that the recruitment process within the South African Police Services is handled fairly and professionally. The high standards of the assessment methods are a testament to the integrity of the process, and I appreciate the commitment that goes into ensuring this.

However, I would like to bring to your attention that in KwaZulu-Natal, specifically the Umkhanyakude district, there seemed to be a smaller number of call-ups compared to other districts in the same province. This observation has made it particularly challenging for applicants from our area to move forward in the recruitment process.

i understand that the SAPS have strict protocols to ensure a fair recruitment process, and I respect the need to maintain these standards. However, I hope that my request may be considered, given the unwavering commitment and dedication we as applicants have shown throughout the processes of becoming members of the South African Police Services.

Thank you for your time and consideration

Yours faithfully
