Voice of the Students: Uphold Prof. Jerry Kolo's Legacy at AUS

This Petition opposes Prof. Jerry Kolo's retirement because of the irreplaceable role he plays in our academic community. Prof. Kolo's retirement would represent a significant loss for the American University of Sharjah, who has devoted many years to the institution, and the Master of Urban Planning program has benefited immensely from his depth of knowledge and experience. His dynamic teaching style, and unwavering dedication to his students have made him a beloved figure within the MUP program and outside. Prof. Kolo's ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, provide invaluable mentorship, and foster a supportive learning environment are qualities that are not easily replaced.

We are deeply grateful for his years of service and commitment to his students, and we implore the administration of the American University of Sharjah to take action to retain him within the department and reconsider the decision to retire him. We believe that his continued presence is essential to the vitality of the Master of Urban Planning program and the academic community as a whole. We call upon decision-makers to recognize the immense value that Prof. Kolo brings to the University and, to ensure that his expertise and mentorship continue to benefit students for years to come.
