We The People, Resolution 1-000001

 

By Majority, We Hereby Demand:

This Resolution, dated October 14, 2013, shall serve to notify the United States Government which shall include, but not be limited to, both Houses of Congress and the President of the United States.  Upon such a time as this petition shall reach a number of signatories greater than that of the majority of legally registered voters in the United States of America, this petition shall be legally served on our government leaders with the following actions demanded:

 

I.  Our government shall hold a national election on July 1, 2014, or as soon as thereinafter feasible, in which We The People shall have a due and fair say in the future of the following issues:

a)  The Affordable Care Act – Yes or No ?

b)  Balance the Budget – Yes or No ?

c)  Raise the Debt Ceiling – Yes or No ?

Thereinafter, an annual election shall be held each and every July 1, in which the American people shall vote on any number of issues approved for balloting.

II.  Ethics and Congressional Responsibilities.

a)  Ethics.  Our government leaders shall adhere to a strict code of ethics and professionalism in both their actions and managerial responsibilities or   be subject to immediate removal from office.  We The People demand the enforcement of the existing Congressional Code of Ethics.

b)  Voting Down Party Lines.  Our government leaders shall vote on legislation based on the merits of the legislation.  “Voting down party lines” and “back office deals” shall be deemed as “not in the best interest of the American people” and shall be grounds for termination of tenure.

c)  Fiscal Responsibilities.  Our government leaders will be required to maintain fiscal management responsibility.  Failure shall result in immediate termination of tenure.

c)  Priorities.  Our government leaders shall serve their constituency as their FIRST priority.  Failure shall be grounds for immediate termination and denial of tenure.

III.  Election Reform.

a)  Respect for other candidates.  Any candidate vying for a government position shall not allow any campaigning which shall be negative to another candidate regardless of party affiliations.  Any campaigning shall be done on the merits of their own candidate and their position on the issues.

b)  The Press and P.A.C.’s shall be restricted from airing negative advertisements.  Any Press or PAC engaging in such activity shall be fined and criminally prosecuted for attempted tampering with an election.

c)  Government Matching of Funds.  No government funds shall be given the any candidate to further their candidacy or used for elections, except for the actual holding of elections.

d)  In discussions, town hall forums and debates, all candidates shall provide a proactive solution to resolve issues presented to them by the moderators.  At no time, will one candidate be allowed to disrespect another candidate.

Note:  Serving as a government leader shall hereinafter be deemed as an honor and privilege.  Leaders shall respect their opponents, their oath of office and serve their constituency in the best interest of those they represent.

IV.  Simplify the Tax Code and End Double Taxation.

a)  Simplify the tax code.  This is a must !

b)  Double taxation shall be defined as the same dollar being taxed more than once by ANY, collectively, government entity, excluding taxes paid by the choice of the taxpayer (ie, cigarette tax.)

c)  The average American pays income tax, social security tax, fuel tax, property tax, luxury tax, sales tax, and finally, inheritance tax !
