This is already a good school, that has done so much good for the teenage male community in Philadelphia. I think they would be just as great for females

I feel that is a good extension on the original school (boyslatin) to help grow there base if operations. And expand more as a school.

This will be good for many reasons it will allow girls to get the same education that we as the boys at boys latin get. This will also make the school less prejudice

I have two children at BLMS and the school is okay. What BLMS is missing are diverse staff and experienced teachers. They also need textbooks and teachers who can teach from textbooks not papers printed from the internet. In addition the children need gym, art and music year round. While I signed the petition for the Girls Latin - they need to fix the many, many problems at BLMS.

I have 3 sona in Boys Latin, 11th grade, 10th grade and 6th grade and I highly recommend this school and would definitely suport a sister school. My 11th grader started in 9th grade and I can't begin to describe the support that I received from the staff. Mr. Pasquale (Vice Principal) is one of the best supportive administators ever. My sons came from a co-ed catholic school and the adjustment to an all boys school was tough however; the staff made the transition easier for them. The discipline is great and our girls in the city would definitely benefit from the academic structure. They have low tolerance for students who refuse to fall in line with the rules, while at the same time giving room for students to adjust to the strict regimen. I definitely support openng a Girls Latin of Philadelphia School.

I have family members that graduated from the boys Latin school and went on to do very well , so the idea of a Girl's Latin is just great ! This is a good thing for the children as well as the parents that want the best education for their kids.

I am a proud parent of a Boys Latin Middle School Warrior. I am confident that my son will grow up well prepared for the real world with all of the excellent teachings that are made available to the boys.

Obviously there is a serious lack of great education and great schools in Philadelphia. When young children, boys & girls do not receive a good education, support, learning, that foundation that prepares them for college and a career, they flounder, suffer, and the numbers show us they end up becoming victims or victimizers--a trouble on and for society. An education is their chance to become productive and constructive parts of society. And children are worthy, deserving of this opportunity and chance!

I am a proud mother of a Boys Latin Graduate class of 2012 ,I would recommend this school to everyone. my son is a Junior at Villanova University. Boys Latin's staff go above and beyond to prepare their students for a bright future. My other son started Boys Latin this year. And all I can say is "it takes a village to raise a child" Boys Latin upholds that.

I believe that Boys Latin is an awesome school. I am happy that they are now trying to offer the same opportunities to girls. I pray that this school is approved so that my daughters are offered the same opportunities as my son.

I have always thought the Boys Latin of Philadelphia program to be a God send for the young men in our city, however I couldn't help but to wonder why there wasn't a program like that for the young ladies here as well. It is my feeling that when this program of Girls Latin of Philadelphia opens it's doors to our young ladies, it will match the extraordinary results so many parents of the young men whom attend the Boys Charter.
