I was a 5 yr resident who owned 2 businesses on the main strip of Sousa. I now frequently return as a tourist. I have always felt and still do feel that the street being closed is ideal and best for businesses that want to work together and make a positive difference.

So tourists that come year year after year should not have a say?  And the busineeses that they support should not consider their opinion?   It would seem to me that a lot of the dollars that are being discussed here (and yes it is a business decision) come from tourists?

I feel much safer when the street is closed. Also, Sosua feels more festive without the traffic. There is a greater sense of community with an open public space. I was very sad to see that the street was opened to traffic.

Mucho más seguro con la calle cerrada. Much safer with the street closed. Don't go much with street open, went a lot with street closed.

Really?  I don't live in Sosua but I am there 5 times a week and I am there weekly on the closed street so I think not only people living in Sosua should have a say!

I am a tourist who spends money in Sosua and was GREATLY looking forward to not having my senses bombarded by vehicles while sitting downtown in the evenings.  I can't tell you how many times we have chosen to not go into town, due to the vehicles racing past all evening.  Hearing the street has been reopened to traffic in the evenings is a great disappointment!!!

Why would anyone want noise , fumes and speeding moto conches when you go out to dine and enjoy the local culture ? Opening the street is a major step backwards for Sosua....if people want to speed and endanger pedestrians they should go to Cabarete.....being able to have a conversation is very important...the tourists come to enjoy the excitement and the exotic life on Pedro Clisant.........THIS. Includes the GIRLS

After living in Sosua for many years it was such a different (pleasant) experience to come back into town after dark without the traffic. Much more relaxed, they need to bring this back, even if it's split between weekends and week days. At least this way people have a choice.

An opportunity was created to make Pedro Clisante a destinaton / attraction unto itself by differentiating it from just any other street in Sosua lined with bars and filled with loud cars and motos.  It was great to see the peple socializing and enjoyng the street, even the children.  I hope the street once again becomes closed to vehicle traffic

the municipality opened the street "aparently" at the request of some business owners. the only business owners I can imagine are the bar owners because the families who were walking through Pedro Clisante were not their kind of clients but in fact that is the majority of the residents and turists visiting Sosua. We can only hope that the petition gets a lot of attention and be heard by the authorities
