My kids will be out of school by the time this facility is built. Parents of small children who will go to Dodgen and Walton someday you will be stuck in traffic and regret not taking the time to sign this petition. I don't know how many people remember the traffic mess from the bridge work from Sewell Mill from last year but that's a taste of what this will be every day and not just for a while. Think of the year of construction impact on those poor neighborhoods. Think of the safety of the student drivers on Providence. Seniors and Juniors already have accidents on providence, this will add to their peril.

We should fight the rezoning. Remember it will also send people up Robinson Road and Canton (which is already a parking lot). I think neighborhoods should be neighborhoods and not multi story medical buildings. Let's not let our neighborhoods go commercial!

I support this petition because I agree with the residents of Providence Road that building the Wellstar facility will cause huge traffic jams in the area. Providence road cannot handle any more traffic congestion!

I hope that Wellstar will reconsider this proposal due to the fact that the Providence Rd and the other streets around can not handle the increase traffic.

The traffic in East Cobb is terrible already. I say no to Wellstar building a new facility.

Three of my grandchildren live with their parents in a quiet neighborhood off Providence Rd. Their parents are among those who work hard to help keep the area a safe, comfortable place to raise a family. Increasing traffic volume on Providence Rd. compromises the safety of all the residents traversing the roadway, especially the children.

#34 Wellstar Facility Providence

That intersection is already a problem because of its configuration (hard right turn uphill from westbound on Roswell Rd. which is supposed to yield to left turn from eastbound Roswell Road traffic). I've seen several "almosts" in the morning. The entrance or lack of entrance into the office condo complex is an issue too - people use it anyway violating the signage. Traffic already backs well past the first subdivision during school rush hour. That intersection does not need an or another entrance to a commercial facility and the traffic that goes with it.

#35 Please vote NO on the Wellstar development

Please vote No to this huge commercial facility proposed in a predominantly residential area. The added traffic  will be a detriment to the area surrounding Dodgen Middle and Walton High Schools. Thank you.

There is no excuse for such a large building in a neighborhood. Cobb comisioners do your job and reject this building.

We live right across the street from this land, it would be devastating to our family and neighborhood if this facility is build.

#39 Official & Updated Information on Project

Thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts on the WellStar East Cobb Health Park. WellStar has been working with a group of more than 40 neighbors, business owners and community leaders on this project since September 2010. We look forward to continuing this relationship to bring this valuable asset to East Cobb.

Please note that updated information on this project can be found at www.wellstar.org/eastcobbhealthpark, which will be regularly updated. I encourage you to visit this page periodically and share this web address with your neighbors who are also interested in the WellStar East Cobb Health Park.

#39: Joe Brywczynski - Official & Updated Information on Project

 Joe B.-

Thank you for commenting.

I/we have been looking for much information, and would LOVE to have more from Wellstar.  In a recent meeting with a planning commissioner as well as an ECCA board member, I was left with far more unanswered questions than answered.  You might hear from this group (ECCA) and others that there are many community members who are as concerned about the lack of assurances and information at this point as the perceived risks from the project as a whole.

In fact, the genesis of this petition was born out of the lack of outreach and information to this point.

We have noted your updates (3/7) to the website, but as a whole and given the EXTREME potential impact to us neighbors, it remains lacking.

Does anyone know what the land is zoned for??

Does wellstar need to have it rezoned?

#43: -

The land is zoned for residential use, and Wellstar is trying to go around the zoning by using the Hospital Authority as its cloak, to bypass the rezoning.  The spin doctors are trying to tell us this is a good thing, do not believe it, if it was Wellstar would be on the up and up, instead of fudging on studies and facts to get what they want.

#45: -

The first thing we can do is attend two upcoming meetings-

March 24th Joann Burrell has a town meeting.  At present, she has no real input because Wellstar does not intend to pursue normal zoning process.  But she should hear that her constituents are concerned.

March 30th is a meeting between ECCA and Wellstar, which is open to the public.  Attend this meeting to hear from Wellstar directly, and to voice your concerns.

As far as our rights in this, they appear to be minimal.  Any other business, a gas station, car dealer, office tower would have to go through the zoning process and then we could speak to people that we elected.  At present, the only people Wellstar HAS to consider at present is the Hospital Authority.

Commissioner Birrell's townhall meeting will not be dedicated to Wellstar questions. However, the ECCA (East Cobb Civic Association) will host an informational session at its March General Membership meeting on Wednesday, March 30th at the East Cobb Government Center (4400 Roswell Road) at 7pm. The speaker will be Joe Brywczynski, Senior VP & Helath Parks Administrator for Wellstar. He will be giving the community an update on the Wellstar East Cobb Health Park project planned for the intersection of Roswell Road & Providence Road, next to the Goddard School. Additional information concerning this project can be found at www.wellstar.org/eastcobbhealthpark.

You are receiving this email in an attempt to keep you up to date with the Wellstar plans for 3624 Providence Road.

IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL IMPACT OF WELLSTAR'S PLANS- PLEASE ATTEND THE MEETING LISTED BELOW ON MARCH 30TH, 2011, to listen and to be heard.

Wellstar Meeting on Providence Road development
Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 7pm.
East Cobb Government Center 4400 Lower Roswell Road Marietta GA 30068

Wellstar is moving into the design phase of their project. They anticipate having preliminary site drawings within the next 90 days. They will also be holding a meeting on March 30th open to the public, hosted by the East Cobb Civic Association (ECCA).

IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE POTENTIAL IMPACT OF WELLSTAR'S PLANS- PLEASE ATTEND THIS MEETING, to listen and to be heard.

Wellstar at this point will not be facing zoning process or county commissioners as they pursue their plans to develop a high intensity health facility. They have the discretion to develop the project under a Certificate of Need process, which bypasses much of what most every other business development would undertake. For this reason, it is important that they know what your concerns for the residential area around this lot may be.

If you are concerned for the safety of the schoolchildren and pedestrians on Providence Road, Please let Wellstar know.
If you are concerned about the traffic/safety impact of ANY entrance/exit onto Providence Road, Please let Wellstar know.
If you are concerned about your property values being affected by the rezoning of this property, Please let Wellstar know.
If you are concerned that without the traditional zoning process and input of our elected officials, that development may change without due consideration, Please let Wellstar know.
If you are concerned about the potential traffic impact of this facility, Please let Wellstar know.

PLEASE ATTEND THIS MEETING TO BECOME INFORMED AND TO VOICE YOUR CONCERNS !!!

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 7pm.

This will cause a great deal of traffic in a area that already has traffic problems on Roswell Road. This especially true when Walton High School and Dodgen middle-school let out and parents are picking up their children. A hospital located so close to these schools could even pose a danger to students who are walking nearby when ambulances, drivers trying to get to emergency services etc are speeding. There is no need for hospital facilities to be located so close to residential locations.
