Why should we have to pay up front first.....then, the flight is full we decide to run over to another airline to get on their flight that is wide open......now we have to fight for the return of our money that is due to us.....as well as being a commuter how would that work, we list for coach, all the seats are full in coach, only thing the agent can accommodate us is First Class, but what do we do, we did not purchase a First Class seat......does this mean we will not get on the flight. Wow, who in there right mind is making these decisions? Obviously.......no one at American Airlines......little by little, this airline is losing its class and the respect that the general public had for and stood for the airline.

Why in the world would you stop an automatic payroll deduction for travel?! It makes no sense whatsoever! I question this silly decision and many more being made since the merger. We are supposed to be a world class leading edge airline. We are turning back to an archaic company. So sad.

Payroll deduct is easy and handy. Especially for those many last minute trips. The company is doing stellar financially, they do not need to earn interest off of us as well.
Stop upsetting your employees so they have something to smile about while on duty!!!

#104 Method of payment for staff travel (non-rev)

2015-06-11 17:33

It appears that what is being addressed is not whether staff travel and/or upgrade(s) is/are paid for in advance of travel.

What is being explored is the manner in which staff travel will be paid for after travel is complete (never before travel), either by payroll deduction or other electronic means.

Payroll deduction of staff travel (after travel is complete) for LAA seems to have been working quite well for the past umpteen years—why change it now?

We were told with merger, everything will get better and we will be treated most generously way. But instead, things get worse and worse, new management too greedy, treat employees like shit.

Why change a system that has worked for years. The only reason I see to change is that the company gets to hold on to your money and get the interest until they decide to give you a requested refund. Some will just leave the funds for future travel. A win for the company, a loss for the non rev traveler.

Because the system works fine as it is. What is the reason for change?

The reason why i like the payroll deductable is when you traveling and didnt make the flight that would br a lot of hastle do the prossesing for reinbursing and takes forever to get your money back..

AGAIN... WHY CHANGE SOMETHING THAT IS NOT BROKEN! it seems like all they want is our money. WHY THE HECK ARE WE GOING TO PAY FOR SOME THING THAT WE DON'T KNOW IF WE'RE GOING TO GET?????? And how about if we pay for first and then get bumped to coach at the last minute? Or worse... we pay for a flight to Asia or Europe and at the last minute we get bumped off the flight? How much more do we have to endure? PLEASE STOP!

The present ticketing is very smooth, easy and very functional. Changing it would be going backwards. It doesn't even make sense.

You keep taking and taking from us, please don't take the one perk we have left! It has always worked great with a payroll deduction! Please don't change a system that works!

This works great, going the other way is a waste of company resources, more problems more confusion.

It has been efficient way of handling and processing charges for years. Why must we change a system that works?
