Ridiculous to shut something down because one person complains. And 8:00 at night? Give me a break. Noise restrictions are 11:00 pm. People are allowed to make noise until then. This is putting one person ahead of the whole community of people who enjoy this fair.

This is not a way to "better" our community... what's next? a task force to incarcerate the berry pickers? bloody ridiculous!     Rick Dignard.

Quality Farms' Fall Fair is an annual event in our family household where we socialize and start our Xmas shopping. I am stunned at what has happened and is happening in our Community. We are loosing more and more of our "feel" of Community. They [Quality] observed the noise bylaws and were quiet by 11:00 more than I can say of neighbours but live and let live right? Annie Malone

We have very little space on the coast for outdoor venues and I think banning everything because of one complaint isn't fair. The majority of the events held there are to raise funds for different charities. So let's rethink out tiny little minds and look at the big picture.

I have been enjoying this event since it started! Do not want to lose it!

I cannot believe the intolerance shown to a few, short events being held on the Coast which unites a community and brings financial help to those who need it. Let us keep the Coast a fun place to live.

The fall fair is a wonderful community event!!
Perhaps the SCRD rules, regulations and administrators all need to be revamped. After all, this is the 21st century!

I am an artist and believe community events like this support everyone in the community and bring people together. It would be a shame to lose such an important local event.

Because Quality Farm is a great support to our Community. I have attended the Fall fair for years and also attended the maybe problem event. Way too much power for one complaint and I doubt they would want all events canceled.

One complaint should not be able to shut down an annual event that has taken place for over 15years!

I have been going for years and years. It showcases all our local
Talent and I locally buy my Xmas presents.
We are a farm and growing community where we rely on
People buying locally rather than Vancouver. We have a lot of talented
Local artists that need to support their livlihood!
Can you imagine salts spring shutting down their markets
Come on SCRD we need you to not be truly tunnelvisioned!
Thanks

I agree with keeping the town fun and not let one naysayer have this power.

The fall fair is a community event which enriches the lives of many. Perhaps a petition should be required to stop it.. Not the other way round..

Strange how one person complains and a community gets shut down. One day of louder sounds, it is absurd!!!

The annual Fall Fair at Quality Farm has been enjoyed by many and events held there give much to the community and to charities that also benefit many. To have one complaint be given precedence over the benefit of many is very unfair. Events are not happening on an all-time basis therefore the benefit to many should out-weigh the complaint of one.

It's ridiculous to stop a 14 yr old tradition of community because of a few sticks in the mud.

That's crazy, punishing all events there because of one complaint at one event. How can one neighbour have so much power? Not right.

I have been going to the Fall Fair for years. I love the ambiance at Quality Farms. Many of the participants would fall under agriculture and the event promotes local business and artisans.

I'm sure a solution can be found to ease the situation for the neighbors. Being in the ALR shouldn't be a reason, many farms on Vancouver Island hold Fairs.

The beer fest was held as a fund raiser for the Sunshine Coast Assoc for Community Living. As someone who has worked with fund raising projects on the coast (mostly for the homeless shelter), i know how hard it is to find a venue that holds enough people to make all the work worthwhile.
If we had governments that would properly fund the projects for people in need in our communities then we wouldn't have to rely on fundraisers such as these. Because that is not the case then i hope that people can find a place in their hearts to allow these events to take place in their neighborhoods.

It annoys me that one complaint seems to have such control especially when the Craft Fair is held during the day and their is little to no noise. I can understand possibly controlling the type of events in a neighborhood that would run into the evening.

These people should get a life...This Fall Fair is a great event.
