as Dogs Vic to make our member grounds safer for us and our dogs

This is a important issue. Park should be used for members only and number recorded on entry into park via a scanner on gates to open.

Because members need to feel that they and their dogs are safe at all times.

because I want everyone to be able to use this amazing facility and be safe to do so.perhaps we can have a security action plan or install survelliance, that would be a more cost effective solution and would cover all areas.

Why pay all the fees if members cannot use the facilities safely? Melbourne has lack of dog exercising areas as it is and it should be a privilege for dogs vic members who pay fees!

I'm a regular at KCC and value having the opportunity to go down to a controlled environment with friends and fellow members.
if we are going to let anybody down there, what's the point in paying for a membership!!!!

Because being a member should provide a certain amount of privileges & dealing with moronic public is not one of them.

Because I've seen the general public using the off leash areas whilst they were already in use by a member. The public person also had small children in there with them.

Stop the Local councils telling the public that KCC in a public dog park. It's us members who pay for the area. Put boom gates up and have a key card to get in. I even witness people with dogs camping in their cars on the grounds

We the members pay to maintain and have this facility. There should be no free usage of the ground.

Because my dogs have been attacked several times by Non members dogs. The last serious attack was committed by 2 dogs that broke out of the off leash area. They attacked my ON-Leash dog while being walked at least 50 metres from the run. When I confronted the Non members, they told me their dogs were too dangerous to be walked in public…. Where's the duty of care for members, DogVic?

Excellent work Jenni. I hope they take this seriously as they don't seem to care what hapens to the general members. If this doesn't work maybe we can all chuck in our memberships and go there for free, let our dogs shit all over the place and not pick it up, abuse other people ( I had someone tell me "I am crazy and I will shoot you in the head" because they wanted to use a run I was in. Office staff "next time call the police". Not good enough. Are they waiting for someones dog to be killed or a serious accident to occur. I would really like to know if their insurance covers non member and if it does, does our membership fees contribute to this coverage. We shouldn't be paying for this. Good luck I will forward it on.

Seems this person has threatened a few people and one lady was escorted to her car by male member as she was too scared to walk there alone in broad daylight.

I feel we need a system whereby we members can enter the park and non members cannot, unless a public event is being held. I was there one Friday and a threatening non member was driving around and abusing a lady and her daughter. They were very frightened so another (male) member had to escort them back to their car. And I have seen a non member entering the free running area while other people were in there. AND being aggressive about it. I shouldn't have to be afraid to use the dog park it is not right.

It would be nice to see some of our membership money used for safety concerns to protect our members, our pets and families.

Is imperative as paying members both we and are dogs are safe at all times

KCC Park is a wonderful facility. It should only be used by members. You should have to carry your ID or leave the grounds.
Shows do not have to be policed- just users at non club events.
We pay to use these facilities. They are not public council facilities. They are private.

As a member of Dogs Victoria, I feel their failure to prevent the public from gaining access to Our (The Members) facilities is a gross failure. It has caused member's dogs to be attacked, vehicles to be broken into, and members to be abused. There should be a system in place, where by, only members can access the grounds on non event days.

Members of affiliated clubs should also be included with access (eg pet owners who are not VCA members but are members of a breed club) so affiliated clubs can continue to hold member events.

How about looking after Dogs Vic Members first ? We pay our Membership Fees, & DV also take a cut from our Entry Fees to Trials/Shows. We shouldn't need to worry about our Dogs or Us, being attacked by Non Members & their Dog's, who think they can come and use these Private Grounds when ever they feel like it !! Better Security is all we are asking for DV, and perhaps BIGGER Signage around the Grounds, advising Non Members that they are NOT Permitted to use the Grounds at any time !!!

Non members can join as a companion member and pay less fees. They can then use the grounds but not have voting rights.

This is important. The upkeep of the park is paid for by memberships and should be limited to be used by members ONLY.

I often travel from SA to attend KCC Park for events. I have been told to not leave anything in my car, not even my dogs as there are often car break-ins even with dogs in the car. I have also heard about young girls being harassed when using the toilet facilities. There needs to be visible security presence during events.
