Yes i have a nice collection of saws to dock those hands that attempt docking a dogs tail without anaesthesia and only for med reason.

As a fourth year vet student the thought that this might go ahead terrifies me. I can already imagine all the septic puppies I'll see from botched attempts. You'd have to do it 500 pups to prevent injury in 1; injury which is unlikely to be as serious as the number of septicaemic pups that this is going to result in. This petition is going around my class like wildfire we feel so strongly about it. This cannot be justified. Admittedly castrated ram lambs go through the same thing but there is a significant economic factor to that and the taint to the meat from the testosterones if this was left until later, along with other reasons, makes it necessary, even if I still don't agree. There is simply no need for this. Why should we allow the docking of tails of countless of puppies on the off chance one might end up as a hunting dog when, as vets, we won't allow each other dock the tail of a adult dog going into hunting because we consider it mutilation, and we'd have the pain relief and anaesthesia the to do it!

This has got to be some sick kind of joke. I have seen the results of badly docked tails and the pain caused is indescribable. Allowing this gives any idiot with a low IQ and a Stanley knife, the power  to wreak unimaginable suffering on poor defenseless animals. Its time for the people who are making these rules to wake up to what the general public think of this thoughtless and irresponsable decision.

Please don't allow tail docking & dew claw removal to be carried out by non vets. The awful suffering to dogs caused by botched removals is experienced in rescues all to frequently. Please say no to cosmetic docking. Dogs were given tails for a reason.

Tail docking is absolutely disgusting, owners want to alter the dogs appearance to make them look nicer? Sick

Please make an urgent change to stop this cruelty to innocent puppies. This country is in a bad enough way as it is - please stop allowing the cruelest of our society from doing as they please. There is no reason for any person to dock a tail or mutliate puppy claws. Make it stop

This is a barbaric and totally unneccessary practice done purely for the pleasure of humans and has nothing to do with the health of the animal!
