this is a disaster not an incident, homes and liveley hoods are at great risk of being non recoverable therefore we should have money just
like any other disaster zone.

This country should be looking after their own.

The UK boast about its wealth and sends financial aid abroad, therefore it has a duty to attend to people here who are in visably genuine need.

it is time to help our own - I don't see any of the other countries we have helped out over the years helping us - David Cameron needs to look into his own backyard and help the poor people whose lives have been devastated HERE

I cannot believe that we are still sending millions abroad to sometimes non-deserving countries. At the moment the needs are here in the UK.

Cameron doesn't care about us , only his rich friends and his standing on the world stage. Clegg and Milliband would be just as bad.

These floods have been a national disaster and therefore it is not unreasonable to use the foreign aid budget to help those whose lives and businesses have been ruined. Also, money needs to be spent on on various means to protect people in the future. The talking needs to stop and action needs to be taken as soon as the flood waters make it possible for work to start.

It would be good to see our National Government displaying a real will to act decisivelyy in the interests of our own people.

it is right to help and support countries in dire need and people who are poor and destitute, but not give the money to despotic dictators to use for their own ends or to countries who can support themselves.who else is going to support our thousands of flood victims? I don't hear of any other countries rushing to our aid.

Why send money abroad when your own people are in such a state of need. I have no problem with overseas aid, as people there are in desparate need too, but surley, like other coutries we should look after our own first, is that not why we pay our taxes to the British Government

The overseas money should be diverted to help floods.

I cannot understand why this country diverts so much of our money overseas when many of its own people are desperatly in need. Charity begins at home; not to countries who have wealth which is not distributed to their own poor folk.

I hope the PM does get money where its needed & re start the Dredging Programme, not only for Somerset, but also the Thames - we have heard idle knee jerk comments from Blair in the past in attempt to score political points.....then nothing happens

I do not see why our taxes should go to other countries, esp China, which is huge. I know they are now having problems but no one helps us when we are having trouble. Did any other country send us money when the countryside was flooded? No, more likely they are having a good laugh at us.

It is diabolical that the Govt doesn't do more to help. They should have known when it started flooding to think about what could be done at that time. Since then all they did was sitting and wringing their hands, if that, and now the damage is much larger than before. And why we need to send money to other countries is beyond my understanding. Especially countries which does not need it.

What about the £90m approved by the goverment for Somallai which goes to al-Quaeda.
This goverment is getting crazier.

Only in this country, in this time, could we rely upon 'our' chosen leaders to place the interests of the worlds most questionable governments over the needs of it's own electorate. I would be frustrated, if I hadn't witnessed this farce so many times before, to the point where, like so many others, I just shrug & resign myself to the fact that this is the price we are paying for putting a succession of spineless, self serving hypocrites in office in our country. Maybe we as a people could learn something from the Ukrainian people, who decided to change their future with such courage
Interestingly, we will soon witness more of our much needed finances being diverted to aid the Ukraine. Good luck to the people of Britain who have had their lives ruined by the floods. Perhaps you may be eligible to apply for international aid ?

Not some of, I would like all of foreign aid stopped and given first to the poor flood victims then to our own unfortunate people and to prevent this happening again work has to be started immediately.
Some of these countries have said they don't want our money why why why are we so stupid in realising that charity begins at home.

Send MPs expenses abroad for five years and that should look after a few million people. And the eleven billion pounds that goes abroad should be spent here on flood defences and healthcare etc.
