PETITION AGAINST THE PROPOSED RELOCATION OF THE SAFE SPACE FACILITY TO BOSTON, BELLVILLE

**PETITION AGAINST THE PROPOSED RELOCATION OF THE SAFE SPACE FACILITY TO BOSTON, BELLVILLE*

To Whom It May Concern,We, the undersigned residents of Boston, Bellville, hereby express our strong opposition to the proposed relocation of the Safe Space facility to the corner of Smal and Rhos Street as detailed in the recent public notice issued by the City.

Our community prides itself on a peaceful, safe, and family-friendly environment. The proposed relocation of the Safe Space facility poses significant concerns that threaten to disrupt the fabric of our neighborhood. The increase in pedestrian activity brought about by the Safe Space facility could lead to an escalation in traffic and potentially endanger the safety of residents, especially children. Moreover, there is a legitimate concern among community members that the facility may lead to an increase in crime, affecting the quality of life within our beloved neighborhood.

Crucially, we are also deeply concerned about the potential impact on property values. The introduction of a facility like Safe Space in our area may lead to a perceived decrease in neighborhood desirability, which could adversely affect property values. This not only impacts the current financial investments of homeowners but could also deter future residential and commercial investments in our area.

While we understand and support the need for Safe Space facilities and the vital services they provide, we firmly believe that the selection of a suitable location should not compromise the safety, security, well-being, and economic stability of existing residential communities. As stakeholders in this decision, we urge the City to consider alternative locations that fulfill the requirements of the Safe Space facility without adversely affecting Boston, Bellville in these various aspects.

In accordance with section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, we submit this petition as part of the public commentary process. We respectfully request that our concerns, including the potential negative impact on property values, be taken into consideration and that the proposed site at the corner of Smal and Rhos Street be removed from the list of potential locations for the Safe Space facility.

We invite the members of the City council and all concerned parties to engage with us in a constructive dialogue to find a solution that serves the best interests of all parties involved.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,[List of Signatures of the Undersigned Residents]
