I have waited my entire life for these last few months of high school so that I could experience something that happens once in our life. My daughter has a progressive neurological disease which is robbing her of her ability to be able to walk for much longer. It’s so important to her and to us that she is able to walk during her ceremony but time is of the essence!

I feel it is important to allow the students the ability to physically be presented their diploma and awards in person. It is VERY possible for the schools to conduct these ceremonies in a safe manner. It will take planning and coordination but it can be done using social distancing and personal protective equipment, staging the groups of students and their parents in groups & of course cleaning & sanitizing. Speeches can be done virtually and sent out before the ceremony or streamed while students are waiting for their group to get their diplomas. Again, IT CAN BE DONE. PLEASE PLEASE make this happen for these students.
