I am a teacher and our education system has reached a critical point. It is time to revolutionize how we approach teaching and learning to properly reflect the needs of our 21st century children.

I am in school myself, graduating this year actually, and it's crazy. There's 20+ kids in every class I'm in this year the students that need the most help don't get it, more and more of my friends are developing depression and anxiety because of school and how stressful it is when you don't get the help that you need, I have a son that will also be going to school in this province and I want only the best for him! He shouldn't have to have 30+ kids in his class he should get the quality education that he will need and want, they are cutting our teachers making classes bigger but the rooms are the same size and there's only one adult there to help them learn everything they need and want to know, it's not easy it's not fair it's our lives they are screwing with the future of Newfoundland is what you're messing with, it's not right, we need to come together and make a stand. Worry about those who haven't started school yet, we need more teachers we need more space and we need more attention!!!

The government has to stop cutting costs in education. Our children are our future. The money should go here.

(St.John's, 2017-03-15)

#223

It is quite painful to watch students capable of great things fall through the cracks due to lack of support. We need a change!

(St. John's, 2017-03-15)

#225

We need another school in our community. My son is currently in grade 4 at St Bernard's Elementary and my daughter will be attending there in 5 short years. Our children deserve a full education. Schools are meant to help our kids succeed, not hold them back!!

(Witless Bay, 2017-03-15)

#229

I feel these issues are very important for the education of our youth. Too many students are slipping through the cracks and not getting supports they need. The system is NOT working

(Irishtown-Summerside, 2017-03-15)

My son struggles with ADHD and is not getting the necessary help at school because of cutbacks. It is affecting his class work.

(Gander, 2017-03-15)

#249

I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and the education system in this province is abysmal. It's the children who will suffer for government lack of foresight and ingenuity.

(Witless Bay , 2017-03-15)

#255

I am a teacher and I see first hand how smaller classes are more effective for a better and more adequate learning environment for the children of our province. Also providing the resources needed to facilitate the curriculum we teach would enhance learning.

(CBS, 2017-03-15)

#257

I support the matters addressed in the petition.

(Corner Brook, 2017-03-15)

#258

Concerned about the direction of education in this province and the myriad of inequalities beginning to manifest in the system regarding the class size of english/french immersion classes and the incorporation of "inclusive" educational policies.

(St. john's, 2017-03-15)

#260

As a mother and a teacher I want my child and every child Umi teach to have the best possible chance for a success educational experience.

#280

I believe our children deserve more than the current resources provide them with in our schools.

(Harricott, 2017-03-15)

#281

I believe in the potential of our students and in the inclusive model. However, the ideal can never be reached if we keep increasing numbers and decreasing instructors.

(St. John's, 2017-03-15)

#284

I am concerned about the negative effects of budget cuts in the education system and how this directly affects my three children

(York Harbour, 2017-03-15)

the educational system has failed students and teachers for 100 years now. I believe that's long enough. Evolve now or we will all fail sooner.

#306

I'm signing because the current state of our education system is not meeting the needs of TOO many of our students.

(St. John's , 2017-03-16)

#307

It is time to stop the cuts to our Education System. The schools are already suffering because of lack of resources and lack of personnel. We cannot afford further cuts because, as it is now, the system is stressed to the point children's right to a quality education is being impacted!

(La Scie, NL, 2017-03-16)

#311

Children need quality education and support which we are so lack in our education system here in our province...

(Grand Bank Newfoundland, 2017-03-16)

#313

Our children are our greatest gifts. When you are a parent of a child who needs extra help you feel alone and lost. Fortunately we were able to hire a tutor but we were told by the teacher that there was no extra help for a child who struggled with math. What happens to the child who's parent cannot afford a tutor? They slip through the cracks!! This incident happened many years ago but it has always haunted me as a parent.

(Deer Lake, 2017-03-16)

#317

I want for our children to have a better education system.

(Witless Bay, 2017-03-16)

#326

I have a child with a learning disability and the schools need funding in order to continue to provide extra support for my child to succeed.

(Gander, 2017-03-16)

#329

Our education system and its decision makers need to step up to the plate and realize that these children need a decent education and a place that is safe and adequate for them to learn. Im from Bay Bulls and our school system isnt handling our rapidly growing population and you the government wants to put another bandaid solution in place and waste tax payers dollars.

(Bay Bulls , 2017-03-16)

#330

I have a one year old who will be attending school in the future and I definitely think changes need to be made.

(Grandfalls Windsor, 2017-03-16)

#335

Our class rooms are busting at the seams. How can 1 teacher handle and adequately teach 30 students, with different rates of learning. They can not. It's impossible. Some Students are falling behind, others aren't being challenged. Class room sizes are too big.

(Tors Cove , 2017-03-16)

#336

I think our school system and administration of this system by our government is failing our children and something has to change in order to benefit everyone's future. We as a society our allowing the government to line their personal pockets rather than investing in our provinces future.

(Victoria , 2017-03-16)

#345

NL Education needs to be taken seriously. It is currently graduating slaves to the system instead of innovators and leaders for the province.

(Cartwright, 2017-03-16)

#346

By September 2017, I will have 3 kids, under the age of 10 attending Riverside Elementary. All we want is the best education possible.

I have 2 children and there education matters to me, to them and the future!

(Paradise, 2017-03-17)

#362

I have children in this school system and i am fed up with the over crowding at their school. The fact that we have to fight for a new school to this government is ridiculous. Shame on you all!

I' m signing this petition because I know the importance of a good education for the future of our children. I am a teacher who has taught 30 years in my own Province of NL. and this is my 16th year in different provinces of Canada. When things should be getting better for our students and teachers, it is regressing. Come on government officials, "wake up"
