PRESERVE OUR HERITAGE AND SUPPORT OPTION 1 WITH ANGLE PARKING.

I live in the town and would like to leave what works for the tax payers meaning angle parking alone

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#202

As a property owner in Montague Township and frequent visitor to Smiths Falls I believe it is important to preserve unique ways of doing things - each different and quirky thing done in SF adds to its charm. Additionally, I am loathe to support any mayor and council who feels it appropriate to reverse decisions without public consultation. Enjoy your terms everyone....this subject has raised the passions of your townspeople and I suspect they will remember this when the next election rolls around.

(Cambridge, 2019-02-17)

#203

I'm signing because I want it to remain angle parking and preserve the heritage of our town.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#204

I disagree with removing angle parking.

(Smith's Falls , 2019-02-17)

#205

I believe that angle parking is the best option

(Smith's falls , 2019-02-17)

#206

I feel that angle parking is part of what makes Smiths Falls unique.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#207

Born and raised in Smiths Falls. Angle parking is part of Smiths Falls just like many other buildings we have preserved.
Not to mention the safety hazard of stopping transports on a main route through the town for parallel parking! Even Perth re-routed transports for their parallel parking

(Jasper, 2019-02-17)

#208

I shop work and used to live in smiths falls.

(Lombardy, 2019-02-17)

#210

I am concerned with the safety issues with the bike lane where children, elderly, and disabled people are concerned. I am also concerned with the cost of this project that is only to make certain councillors and the mayor make a name for themselves without the concern of future retribution on the town. I understand the infrastructure needs work, but leave the heritage of the street alone..

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-17)

#211

too many parking spaces will be lost......leave it as it is !!!

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#212

Im signing this because I work and shop in smiths falls, this plan will make parking a nightmare to find/park. It will take away so many spots. I feel the money could be better used elsewhere.

(Portland, 2019-02-17)

#213

I support keeping angle parking, as well council is not listening to the tax payers of Smith's falls

(Smiths falls , 2019-02-17)

#214

I’m signing this petition because I do not agree with the mayor and his councillors who have agreed to randomly change the decision made by the previous council on redevelopment of Beckwith Street and change it to parallel parking. I totally support angle parking to keep our beautiful heritage unique front street!!

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#215

Angle parking is a large part of our heritage. It is unique and it is something POSITIVE that Smiths Falls is known for. People enjoy the ease of access angle parking allows especially for those who have difficulty parallel parking. I also allows for MORE parking in the downtown core.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#216

I believe in saving the angle parking as part of our towns heritage.

(Perth, 2019-02-17)

#217

i am signing this petition for option #1 angled parking because i am not in favour of how the mayor and town council deceitfully recinded angle parking without declaring prior to this years municipal elections , that their intent was to recind angled parking .

(orleans, 2019-02-17)

#218

I am signing because I do not agree with Option 2. Not only do many people like parallel parking but it will have a negative effect on the stores in the downtown core. For the small number of cyclers that go downtown the change is not worth it. As well, as a taxpayer, I feel this is a waste of our tax dollars.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#219

Smiths Falls is my home town. My family still lives there. I’d hate to see angle parking go. It’s what makes smiths falls the town it is!!

(Kingston , 2019-02-17)

#220

I live, work and shop in Smiths Falls. The angled parking gives more spaces close to where we want to shop so that those that are elderly or people with disabilities can be close to the banks and shops they would like to use.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#221

I have lived here my entire life. I want to keep angle parking.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#222

Parallel parking will take up too much space

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#223

We have lost enough of our heritage Smith's Falls Beckwith st. Is unique keep it that way.

(Lombardy, 2019-02-17)

#224

I am signing because I support angled parking. I stand behind the protesters and what they are protesting. I shop in Smith's Falls

(Westport, 2019-02-17)

#225

Our heritage parking should be maintained.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#226

I completely agree to keep angle parking. For many obvious reasons

(Smiths falls , 2019-02-17)

#227

Keep angled parking

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-17)

#228

I think they should be left as they are!! cost factor ,?and there is no need to change sure dress up the down town core . But why change parking ?

(williamsburg, 2019-02-17)

#229

The people of Smiths Falls voice that they wanted to keep angle parking to the last council and they agreed with the people so why change something that the people of Smiths Falls wants to be left alone

(Smiths Fa;;s, 2019-02-17)

#230

I was born and raised in Smiths Falls and still live there on Percy Street. I frequent Beckwith often. The angled parking is best for me. I don’t feel that a bike lane on our Main Street (Which is also a highway) is a good idea. If tourism is the driving force for a bike lane, summer months do not warrant possible complications for year round residents.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#231

Leave the parking the way it is.. so much easier for elderly , & safer for children exciting cars..

(Smith's Falls , 2019-02-17)

#232

I grew up in SF and do all banking and shopping here. I want angled parking to stay, let’s keep what is unique to our town

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#233

Keep Angle Parking!!

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#234

I'm signing because this town truly needs to hold on to this parking for many reasons. I cannot see this town maintaining the main drag on a consistent basis going forward during the winter. I also do not see anyone maintaining patience during the winter for those who are attempting to parallel park (in any season), especially having a line up of transports behind them on the main drag (which is on a hill). The idea of parallel parking on a hill, will put a lot of people on the edge. With the redesign of the new town logo, it makes this town look like it has lost its heritage. Every surrounding town maintains their rich looking signs, heritage buildings and people gravitates towards these historical towns. We no longer look like that. If we lose this parking, we've lost our last stand against holding any heritage we have left. You can add bike lanes with angled parking, you'd just have to put that on the inside near the sidewalks or on the side streets. Parallel parking will also kill the remaining business we have left on the main drag with the construction. Let's face it - this town cannot complete anything in its time frame. Look at he bridge and when water mains break... you guys take forever. One business has already left because of the potential impact this construction will have - what other business will follow suite? Overall - I honestly think this town can invest in other green initiatives or invest back into making smiths falls look like it is apart of the historical towns surrounding us. It is not setting us back when we do this; it actually makes us more appealing when we do. We can be modern, but respect our past as well; not erase it.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#235

Angled parking makes sense. We need to keep the down town inviting NOT INTIMIDATING.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#236

I'm signing because I want to keep the angled parking. It doesn't make sense to change things that work well. There are other issues this council should be looking at fixing first, like water tower, bridge etc.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#239

I live in Lombardy, I do the majority of my shopping in Smiths Falls because I believe in shopping local and preserving the small town my friends and family live and work in. I am signing this petition because I believe that Canadian citizens have the right to ask for democracy and transparency of our government at any level, and that we all have the right to have our voices heard and not silenced.
First I would like to ask: is it legal to revisit or rescind the decision of a previous council?
On the grounds of, you didn’t like the final out come of the vote? The previous council voted. Option 1 was the winner.
I feel that the towns mayor and councillors have taken away the townspeople’s right to decide where their tax money is used. The tax payers had their say and they said “no to parallel parking and bike lanes”.
At no time during the towns election did Mr. Pankow or the towns councillors say they intended to rescind option one for option two. Why hasn't the town accepted what the people want? They accept the vote when they are voted in as mayor or as a councillor, why? because it benefits them. When the people that voted them in to represent their wishes say “we would like to keep our Main Street as historical as we can” or “we VOTE to keep angled parking” their representatives become deaf to their voices. Why? because it doesn’t benefit them at this moment. If present council and Mayor are allowed to vote and rescind the previous option then maybe the townspeople should be allowed to vote and rescind the positions that these people were voted into. We don’t live in a dictatorial town or country. That is what makes Canada a great country.
The solution is simple Mayor Pankow and Councillors, hold a referendum.
Do you vote for parallel parking on Beckwith Street? _____ yes _____no

Tally the results, accept the answer.
Or
Are you afraid to?

(Lombardy, 2019-02-17)

I lived in Smiths Falls for many years, and have family living there still. I view Smiths Falls as my home town. Angle parking on Beckwith and Main Sts. is far more than heritage based. It is functional and by far the best solution to accommodating vehicles driven by those shopping and supporting our downtown merchants. Bicycle lanes DO NOT belong on Beckwith St. They will not be used because of the traffic, the hill, and riders will avoid the inherent dangers. Maple St. is a much better choice for bike lanes, and will provide easy access to Beckwith St. every block.

I also have great concerns about the democratic process, specifically how it appears to have been abused by Mayor Pankow and many of the town councilors to serve less than transparent purposes.

(Stittsville, 2019-02-17)

#241

Heritage of Smiths Falls must be preserved . As well as proper function of municipal gov't with proper process involving residents .

(Milton Nova Scotia, 2019-02-17)

#243

I do all my shopping and plan to buy in town in next couple of years. I have a vested interest in protecting the towns heritage and protecting it for our youths generations to come. My father and mother in law own homes in town.

#244

I am a resident and a business owner in Smiths Falls.

(Smith's Falls, 2019-02-17)

#246

I support angled parking

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#247

I'm resident and business owner in Smiths Falls and i support Angled Parking!

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#248

Introducing parallel parking not only violates the historic charm of Beckwith st., but also does not make logistical sense. It is hard enough as is sometimes to find a parking spot on Beckwith st. with angled parking, losing 40% of the space will not help...

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#249

I feel the change is unwarranted with no benefit to the merchants of Beckwith Street and totally disagree with the council actions

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#250

I am against parallel parking and want a public meeting called by council

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#251

The angle parking is so convenient and actually looks beautiful on that unique and spacious Main Street. Parallel parking is so not convenient or user friendly. Smiths Falls is known for this Main Street. Do not destroy.

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-17)

#252

This decision affects me as a citizen of this town!

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-17)

#255

The counsil has betrayed and manipulated their way into changing something this whole town loves. They lied about the reason to close Victoria park and in all honesty they dont represent the peoples best interest just there own.

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-17)

#256

This is my home , and home town , and it is simply a bad choice , and not very well thought through , Heritage is what people come here for . If it is not broken , then why fix it?

(Kingston, 2019-02-17)

#257

I want to preserve our heritage and because of the underhanded way this was handled

(Lombardy, 2019-02-17)

#259

I am against removing angle parking.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#260

I think we should keep angle parking. We don't need bike lanes on Beckwith Street

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#261

I support keeping angled parking.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#262

We need to keep angle parking to preserve the history and uniqueness of Smiths Falls. I also feel it’s safer than parallel parking, and will keep the same number of parking spots. We do not need a bike lane on Beckwith Street!

(Mallorytown , 2019-02-17)

#263

The people of Smiths Falls do not want our down town parking changed it has had angle parking for many many years and we like it just the way it is

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#264

Do not want Parallel parking down town.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#265

I want to keep the heritage of our town with Beckwith street angle Parking

(Smiths Falls ont, 2019-02-17)

#266

I lived in SF for almost 20 years and am planning on returning hopefully within the next few months. When it comes to having to Parallel park I usually drive around till I can find angled parking so much easier and safer. If you want to parallel park you can still do that on all most if the side streets off if Beckwith!!!!

(Bay de Verde NL, 2019-02-17)

#267

Angle parking is the only way to go.

(SMITHS FALLS, 2019-02-17)

#268

I’m signing because this is what’s best for our town and we need to be heard!!

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-17)

#269

Keep Angle parking. Its safer and more effective.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#270

I grew up in Smiths Falls and most of my family still live there. I believe the angle parking adds a unique feature to Smiths Falls and should remain. I feel that bicycle lanes will be under utilized and by removing angle parking the amount of parking would be decreased significantly. Currently, anytime I am in Smiths Falls, I am still driving around the block to find parking. If half of the spaces are removed, this will create even more congestion. Bike lanes are only used a portion of the year, parking is year round. Please reconsider.

(Almonte, 2019-02-17)

#271

The way this vote was brought up and rescinded was very sneaky and definitely defied residents of their vote/voice

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#272

I want angle parking!

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#273

I think angle parking should stay.I own a house in Smiths Falls & have lived here for many years.

(Perth, 2019-02-17)

#274

I am angled parking.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#275

I’m signing because of the underhanded way council has gone behind taxpayers backs to get this passed! I live in Smiths Falls.

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-17)

#276

I am in favour of the pre-agreed upon angle parking the previous Council passed.

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-17)

#277

I live in smiths falls and use this road quite often I have a larger vehical so it makes it less convenient having to Parelell park as well as parking is very hard to get now for banks ect

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-17)

#278

Angle parking is safer and easier for people and I prefer angle parking ,it makes MORE sense.

(Smiths falls , 2019-02-17)

#279

I'm signing because my opinion as a citizen of Smith's Falls should matter to the mayor and the council members.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-17)

#281

l'm signing this because you can't get out of your car with on coming traffic & you can't get out on the right side with snow in the winter & bicyle's on the right side. Linda Bourne Bruce Bourne

(Smith's Fall's Ontario, 2019-02-17)

#282

I'm signing this because I disagree with the concept of bike lanes on our busiest street, and consider revisiting this issue unethical after the people of the town and the previous council rejected it

(smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#284

I would like to keep angled parking and preserve the unique heritage of the downtown of Smiths Falls.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#285

Brent Whiten

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#286

Because I think this mayor & some of the councillors ( 4) are F'in sneaky & under handed, tooo much back door shit

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#287

Angle parking makes complete sense. It allows more cars on the street in our down town area and merchants.

(Smith's falls , 2019-02-18)

#288

Although I don’t live in Smiths Falls, I grew up there, and lived in town for years before moving to Lombardy. I do all my shopping in Smiths Falls, my doctor, dentist, hairdresser, etc. is in Smiths Falls, and I support the restaurants. I was a nurse on maternity at the hospital for many, many years. I do not want to see Beckwith St. changed to parallel parking, and I don’t like the way town council went about rescinding Option 1.

(Lombardy, 2019-02-18)

#289

It’s a ridiculous idea Perth and Co have it and it makes it hell for older ppl to park and u lose a lot of space

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#290

I was born and raised in Smiths Falls. I think the mayor has been very underhanded.

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#292

Although I live in Lombardy, I worked in Smiths Falls for 25 years, and lived there for many years before moving to Lombardy. I do all my shopping in Smiths Falls, my doctors, dentists, etc. are all in SF. I support the Smiths Falls restuarants, etc. I do not want our main drag to change to parallel parking. And, I do not care for the way in which the new council rescinded the decision of the former council. AND, the main drag definitely does NOT require a bicycle path!

(Lombardy, 2019-02-18)

#293

I'm originally from the great town of Smiths Falls , angle parking is her History just as angle parking is part of Tillsonburgs History , it's very distinctive , you want safety?? Tell people to slow down , we do a max of 40 K going down or up Broadway. Plus parallel parking will take away customers from the downtown core.

(Tillsonburg, 2019-02-18)

#294

I do not want to see Beckwith St. changed to parallel parking. Furthermore, I don’t care for the way in which town council has handled all this. This subject was never brought up during the election, and then shortly after the new council was sworn in, they rescinded the decision made by the previous council.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#295

I am against parellel parking, but more than that, I am not fond of the way in which our town council brought all this about. The previous town council had approved option 1, and it was not a part of any of the election campaigning. Then, as soon as the new council was sworn in, they immediately rescinded what the previous council had approved.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#296

petition for option 1

(smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#297

To perserve Heritage and hold Town council and our Mayor accountabile for going back on their word.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#299

Preserve the heritage in Smiths Falls

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#300

Things should stay the way they are.

Angle parking is a pain in the *rump* and not as safe.

Parallel parking is part of Smith Falls heritage.

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#301

I think parallel parking will hurt our downtown business sector and in my opinion,a bike lane would not benefit bikers I think it would end up being a scooter lane and it would be dangerous for cars trying to get into parking spaces that will be reduced by quite a bit with the new plan.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#302

I am not at all happy with how the mayor and councilors have conducted themselves so far on council!! I don't think they should be able to rescind the previous councils ruling.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#305

I’m signing because I live in Smiths Falls, and would like my opinion to matter. I’m in favour of angled parking because I believe the wide streets are a nice heritage look for the down town core.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#307

I want angle parking left on Beckwith Street

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-18)

#308

I want to preserve our heritage and keep angle parking

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#309

I am in favour of option 1 as previously decided on. I request a public forum on this issue. I reside in Smiths Falls and believe heritage should be maintained and the voices of this community need to be heard.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#310

I want to keep angled parking on Beckwith

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#311

I support keeping the angled parking as it is. Disappointed in council.

(SMITHS FALLS, 2019-02-18)

#312

there are not enough bikes in town for a bike lane the most elderly people dont like parrell parking plus im putting my mother names on here pat swerbrick she dosnt have a computer

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#313

was Born and raised in this town and want to protect its Heritage.
Also had many safety issues with #2.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#314

The current mayor has chosen to introduce a Marxist version of democracy and do as he pleases. The towns people want to keep our heritage and not just create a legacy for the mayor.

(Smith Falls, 2019-02-18)

#315

Our population in the area makes parking difficult to begin with. If it is changed to parallel parking we will lose nearly half of the spots. Yet there are not enough parking spaces with angled parking.

(Jasper Ontario, 2019-02-18)

#316

I'm signing because its not right what council did or that mayor. And the street should stay the way it is. Its part of history. Please do not change the street or the parking

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#317

I oppose parallel parking, especially for the busy Beckwith St area... Angle parking works well and there are more spaces with it, and no one is having to open a door and step out of their car into traffic area... Angle is much safer

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#318

I am against parallel parking

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#319

I want the council and mayor to recind the new decision . I want transparency from our elected officials on all matters. I want the voices of the people to be heard.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#320

I want to keep angled parking

(Smith's falls, 2019-02-18)

#322

I don’t agree with this parallel parking, and want to see angle stay.

(Smiths falls , 2019-02-18)

#323

I am signing this to show my support for Angle Parking. I believe there was a reason we have kept our Angie Parking for many years as part of our Heritage. It has proven to be the best for our Downtown area for a speedy commute through our downtown street as well as ease of commute for downtown shoppers. It has been used many times for parades and festivals. It allows our service vehicles to travel with ease through Beckwith St to get to areas needed in a quick and easy manner. Angie parking allows visitors and residents to pull in and out of parking spaces much faster than Parallel parking and allows us more spaces to park than parallel parking. It looks much neater as well. Beckwith street is also a main highway as well so it is used by all frequently.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#324

I would like parking to remain the same why change it when it has been this way for years

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#325

I want to keep angled parking in Smiths Falls.

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#326

I signing this Angle parking is the way and is so unique for our town.

(Malua Bay, 2019-02-18)

#328

I don’t feel it is right that this is an issue again seeing as it was voted on and they are going against what the people of SF have voted for.

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#329

Leave our town the way it is alot of beautiful moments and memories

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#330

If the town changes to parallel parking it will irrevocably damage small businesses and take away the town’s beauty, history and uniqueness.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#331

I support keeping angled parking and democracy.

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#332

I am against parallel parking on Beckwith Street.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#333

Would like to support no change. Maintain angle parking.

(Smiths Falla, 2019-02-18)

#334

I want angle parking no to parrelle parking

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#335

I want to preserve Angled Parking

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#336

I grew up in SF, continue to shop and play sports there. Learned to drive, angle park on the main drag and parallel park on the side streets. I continue to have no issues or accidents with angle parking. I am in favour of angle parking, opposed to parallel parking for Beckwith street.

(Carleton Place , 2019-02-18)

#337

Angled parking is the way to go!! Already difficult finding parking, and who needs a bike lane for all of 2 bikes in town

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#338

I believe the downtown can be revitalized without the loss of angle parking. I feel it will be a huge mistake.

(Smith's Falls, 2019-02-18)

#339

The traffic is already too heavily congested, by making the street narrow will create delays, more difficult parking for some, and in my opinion make it more dangerous for bicycles. If heavy trucks and those that are merely passing through Smiths Falls took and alternative route, then angle parking could remain and bicycles wouldn't need a bike path. The air pollution alone on a busy street should tell the Mayor that a bike path is harmful, and should be discouraged. Council is on the wrong side of the street on this topic. Listen to the PEOPLE!

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#340

I live and shop in town and i feel we need to be heard...ANGLE PARKING for this town !!!!

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-18)

#341

I am signing because I grew up there and still have a large amount of family there. I shop there also. Not for long if they change the parking. Listen to the people of Smiths Falls, what a dirty way of going around the will of the people. They did a study that said no to this parking, they asked the people and they said no to this parking. It wasn't mentioned in election platform ? Surprise Surprise the mayor goes for it after being elected and the town council, that just tells me that they have there own agenda and aren't listing to the people and they need to go. So people remember this and hopefully the mayor and council will not win the next election. Shame on them for leaving the old bridge next to the war memorial to rot and fall apart. they want to spend money, spend it on that.

Born and raised in Smiths Falls.
Still shop, dine and support my hometown regularly.
I am opposed to the decisions and actions of the current council. Shady politics.

(Portland, 2019-02-18)

#343

I believe it is part of our heritage to have angle parking.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#345

I hate trying to parallel park

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#346

This decision was already made! The town voted NO! This decision is being made by a mayor who does not care what the people who live here want. He was such a respected man & now a very disrespected fool

Angled is better

(Smith's falls , 2019-02-18)

#348

I’m signing this petition because I am against angled parking and the way Pankow/council handled it. You can’t vote one way then change it because you won the election. Pankow needs to go and someone that cares about Smiths Falls heritage and it’s community needs to be elected as mayor

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-18)

#350

Keep angled parking

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#352

Angled parking is and has always been part of the SF downtown core.Smiths Falls is known for the angled parking and this should be left alone! There are other things in SF that can and should be fixed before worrying about our parking.

(Jasper, 2019-02-18)

#353

The decision had been made for angle parking to remain and should be respected.

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-18)

#354

I want to keep angled parking. I don't believe the tax payers should fund the $8-9 million + redesign. If there is no government fund to cover the entire cost, it should not be done. Stop over spending other peoples money on looks when we have a entire town that is over taxed and a entire town in need of major repairs elsewhere. If folks cannot afford to fix up these older homes, this town will start looking even worse. We have so much work to do, a redesign for the sake of tourists is way too risky and not smart.

(Toledo, 2019-02-18)

#356

Im signing because our angled parking needs to stay and not be changed. Its not broke...dont fix it.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#357

I'm signing to go with option 1 angle parking.
Keep our beautiful wide main St.
Maintain as many parking spots as possible.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#358

We have the best main street

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-18)

#359

Because I believe the town is better with angle parking, this is our heritage! Also..the sliminess of how this even happened after being voted against last year is mind boggling. I hope none of these people get voted in again for turning their backs on the people the way they did!

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

I lived here all my life. All my family are here. So aging and heratage

(OTTAWA, 2019-02-18)

#361

I have a business on beckwith street and I don't want to lose any parking spaces for our customers.....and some of our customers have already told us that they may have to go elsewhere if they take away angle parking.....if changed it Will affect many businesses in the downtown core

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#362

Parallel parking on a hill is not practical and it would eliminate parking spots on the Main Street. A bike lane down Beckwith is useless. As a cyclist I wouldn’t use it because of a) the hill and b) all the terrible red light running drivers that I see DAILY on Beckwith

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#363

I am signing because angled parking is the best solution for Beckwith St.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#365

It doesn’t make sense when the street functions perfectly now as is. I like angled parking

(Ottawa, 2019-02-18)

#366

I’m signing because I want to keep angled parking in Smiths Falls

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-18)

#368

I think parallel parking is more difficult for a lot of our citizens, will reduce parking spaces, and is absolutely unnecessary, and a waste of taxpayers’ money

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#370

It would be a shame to take away angle parking.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#371

I want to keep the angle parking up town

(Smith's falls, 2019-02-18)

#373

I disagree with Mayor Pankow’s arbitrary choice to rescind the original decision, which included public consultation, and move forward with the result of the new vote.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#374

I was born and raised in Smiths Falls. I work in Smiths Falls. Please dont change it.

(Westport, 2019-02-18)

#376

I love the angle parking.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#377

I shop in Smiths Falls and my family lives in the town and I live just outside town

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#378

I believe we need to preserve our historic downtown, I was born, raised, married and raised 4 children and worked 40 years in the Town of Smiths Falls! Don’t waste money on something that does not need to be changed.

(Addison,Ontario, 2019-02-18)

#380

The current council is not representing the residents of Smiths Falls as they were voted in to do.

(Smiths Falls , 2019-02-18)

#381

For no other reason than the fact that if the first thing people complain about the downtown is "not enough parking" they why in the world would we continue with an an option that reduces the number of parking spaces significantly!

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#382

I was raised in Smiths Falls, Ontario and both my parents still reside in the town. I fully support Option 1.

(Edmonton, 2019-02-18)

#383

Keep angled parking, maintain our heritage.

(battersea, 2019-02-18)

#384

What this Mayor and Council has done is sneaky and underhanded. This was voted and decided on, the majority spoke. Keep angle parking.

(NA, 2019-02-18)

#386

I am signing as I believe that taking the angle parking out of the downtown will hurt the business of the downtown core. With less parking comes less traffic as people get frustrated with the lack of parking. As a person who has lived in other towns that have gotten rid of the angle parking they have seen less traffic due to the lack of parking.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#387

I do believe in change but when the town does not have the money to spend I think we should let things be. We are a ageing community and parallel parking is really not an option, we also have a very busy community which means more traffic, with Tweed growth we will sure have the traffic on our Main Street. I would like to keep angle parking. This goes back to the saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

(Smiths falls, 2019-02-18)

#388

I was born and raised here in Smiths Falls and i believe in preserving our heritage and the angled parking in our downtown core is part of that.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#389

I’m signing this petition for 2 reasons:
1. To protect Smiths Falls’s unique heritage.
2. I abhor any government that would use this type of tactic, which contravenes the expressed wishes of it’s citizens.

(Stittsville , 2019-02-18)

#391

I prefer angle parking to parallel.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#392

I do not live in town of Smiths Falls but I live Rural Smiths Falls. I work in Smiths Falls and have been a member of the community for 55 years. ( Church, School, activities). I am signing to help keep angle parking. Lisa Brennan-Trudel

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#393

I want to keep our heritage the way it is. NO parelel parking and NO bike lanes on Beckwith St.

(Smiths Falls, 2019-02-18)

#395

It’s fine the way it is! Why waste money on something like this when you could be fixing pot holes or supporting local programs for youth!

(Kingston, 2019-02-18)

#397

I would like the parking to stay the way it is.

(Smith's falls , 2019-02-18)

#399

I don’t agree with changing the parking. We will loose valuable space! Not to mention the shadiness of council and the fact they are bringing this motion back! Ridiculous!
