I'm a writer and have had my work stolen from me before.

(Port Elizabeth, 2019-03-24)

#1843

I'm an upcoming artist myself and wholly disagree with the new terms being put up in this copyright act. It devalues the artist and their work, a complete utter disrespect to the creators and the creative industry.

#1851

This is absolutely 100000% censorship on a level never before seen and should not be passed or even be considered but here we are if you sign this it will literally kill Esports in South Africa and peoples livelihood.

(Johannesburg, 2019-03-24)

#1864

(Johannesburg, 2019-03-24)

I am an independent music artist/songwriter. Our careers depend largely on the money we make from our IP. Being stripped off the right of owning our IP would destroy our livelihood and industry, an industry that puts our country on the map and attracts international interests. We don't have much as young black South Africans, but we have managed to use our stories and creativity to better our lives and that of our families. This bill aims to steal our only way of improving ourselves as a previously disadvantaged group.

(Johannesburg, 2019-03-24)

#1882

Because AKA said so.

(Cape Town, 2019-03-24)

#1885

This bill is a threat and a setback to the creative industry as a whole and to the past, present and future content creators namely, authors, scriptwriters, music composers, fine artists, designers, songwriters etc. and South Africans at large, to say the least.

(Durban, 2019-03-25)

#1986

I want to protect our creatives who deserve recognition and compensation for their works. I do not want us to lose them as they add to our heritage and wealth of knowledge. Without them we will be subject to foreign works as our creatives stop creating. I also don’t understand how such a bill can be passed especially if it’s clearly not in the best interest of South Africa or it’s people. Not only will it hurt the creative industry but many jobs will be lost and billions will be lost as well. In our current economy how is that any good for the people? How does South Africa benefit from such a bill? This bill must not be signed period!

(Johannesburg , 2019-03-25)

#1991

I am both an author and a publisher, and I fear the amendments will undermine the stability of both. As an educator, I have not needed additional copying and so-called fair use, and I don't believe this justification has been sufficiently researched.

(Pretoria , 2019-03-25)

#1995

We need to considered and respected as creative cause we also have a say
