I am a musician that composes original music from my spiritual connection with the universe. I expect it to be my property anywhere, any place, all the time. I do not believe that anyone has the right to expropriate my works or my rights to my works, partially or wholly. This is theft even if a law came out legitimising such theft. That law would be illegitimate and disrespectful and unfair and would take away the meaning of my life as a creative or at least reduce my rights to my own thoughts and feelings as expressed by me through my creative process. It would spur me on to become a non productive recluse not willing to share my thoughts and feelings with the public ..the poetry of the beautiful language of music belongs to the creator who should be able to control what happens to it in the public domain, without outside interference legislated to enable expropriation of my creative soul.
Sincerely,
Greg Georgiades (artist musician)

#3169

Due to unfairness to authors.

(Johannesburg, 2019-03-26)

#3171

Books are the intellectual property of tha authors. It is their job and the way they earn their living. Taking away copy right, is taking the food out their mouths.

(Bloemfontein , 2019-03-26)

#3172

People have a basic right to be paid for their ideas, the educational material they create or any works they develop. Everything is not for free. There are many Authors, Publishers, Editors and Developers making a living from the knowledge and skill they have gained over many years. Many many hours are spent creating ordered and structured learning material in a way that students can understand and grasp it. If this Bill is signed in a lot more will be lost than whatever it is this Bill sets out to gain.

(Cape Town, 2019-03-26)

This is not what I want to see become of the creative sector in our country. People work so hard for their works, it needs to be protected and they need to be compensated for it!

(Johannesburg , 2019-03-26)
