BUDDY'S PETITION - New Glasgow NS Animal Control is Out of Control

Comments

#401

Animals are innocent til proven guilty. Free the innocent!!! This officer needs training on how to investigate and do his job. How nice that false claims and an overreaching officer determines who is right...obviously not an animal advocate.

Cathleen MacKinnon (Dartmouth, 2019-05-31)

#404

It's unfair the way this family and their dog are being treated. Because of one negative neighbor. I would be devastated to have to treat my family pet like that.

Kim Hanlan (Liverpool , 2019-05-31)

#410

this is just crazy...humans are soo mean

BJ Schofield (Berwick, 2019-05-31)

#411

This should have ended when the family was out of province when the dog was reported running around terrorizing the neighbours. This is just awful! The neighbour should be charged with harassment.

Amanda Wood (Sydney , 2019-05-31)

#412

This is absolutely ridiculous. I hope things get better for you and your sweet fur baby.

Jessica Elliott (Brookfield , 2019-05-31)

#415

Reading about what has happened to Buddy, an innocent dog, has me completely outraged. A neighbor is mad at Chris but is making the dog pay? Chris' story needs to be heard! Animals can't be punished like this, especially when there is no proof!! Karma will get that ignorant man!

Lauren Green (Westville, 2019-05-31)

#416

In support of buddy. Shame on animal control and the ass that is ruining people's and dogs lives...

Diane Dingle (Shortt's Lake , 2019-05-31)

#420

I’m signing because I don’t ever want MY dog to be accused of aggressive behaviour unjustly. Furthermore, the unfounded accusations could lead to euthanasia of a perfectly friendly, harmless animal and that is both terrifying and heartbreaking.

Amanda Hyldig (Westville, 2019-05-31)

#426

It’s unjustifiable to demand a muzzle due to an obvious nasty neighbor 1 person complaining? Wow

Paula Maclean (New Glasgow , 2019-05-31)

#427

I believe this man that his dog is not a threat to anyone and should have proof that he was a threat before being forced into a muzzle!

Theresa Welsh (Pictou, 2019-05-31)

#428

In this day and age it takes nothing for someone to record stuff on their phones for proof. Animal control needs to start requesting this before muzzling fur babies

Bobbi Mattinson (Hopewell, 2019-05-31)

#429

Animal control Should investigate before placing any muzzle orders and not just go on what someone claims without proof. Animal control (John Fillier) seems to take the less serious cases FAR more seriously than actual serious cases where a dog is proven aggressive and John Fillier does nothing about it.

Brittany Malloy (Pictou , 2019-05-31)

#431

This is not right dogs should not be punished like this without providing proof by video that dog is aggressive... An abuser has to be proven before locked up or only given a piece bound ......Ggggrrrrrr

Katrina Pettigrew (Amherst , 2019-05-31)

#432

I totally agree.

Carolanne White (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#433

There should be proof this is absolutely ridiculous. Every being should have a trial, no one's thrown in jail without given a free trial.

Mackenzie Forsyth (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#441

The town should have required some type of proof that Buddy was guilty of these offences considering the final complaint was made when the family were not even in the area . This dog shouldn't be disciplined because someone wants to make false accusations. The animal control officer should have at least talked to other neighbors on the street to try to validate if there was an issue .

Heather Baird (Pictou , 2019-05-31)

#442

This dog should not be muzzled

Cheryl Skinner (D'ESCOUSSE , 2019-05-31)

#445

Pets are family. And that's just wrong. I think the town should to their job and see what kind of a dog buddy really is. Instead of listening to the neighbors.

John Strickland (Halifax, 2019-05-31)

#451

It is not right that someone can have that much power with a phone call !

Karen McNamara-MacDougall (Sydney , 2019-05-31)

#452

This is completely ridiculous without proof !!!!!!!!!

Rhonda Langille (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#457

This is totally an unfounded case. There needs to be proof. Poor boy.

Trina Fancey (Calgary, 2019-05-31)

#459

I'm signing this because good dog owners and their dogs shouldn't have to put up with stupid people

David Young (St Thomas , 2019-05-31)

#460

Unless you can prove a dog is aggressive there is no need for a dog to be muzzled. There should be evidence. Not fear, but actual evidence. This animal control officer needs training on basic dog behaviour.

Colleen Havel (OTTAWA , 2019-05-31)

#466

It’s not fair to Buddy or his family.

Leona Richards (Halifax, 2019-05-31)

#471

There is no proof Buddy harmed anyone, including the neighbor.

Lindsey Dryden (Truro, 2019-05-31)

#478

This muzzle order is unfair without evidence to prove it's necessary .

Stacey Colborne (Truro, 2019-05-31)

#486

I agree strongly!

Steve Rose (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#487

Whose a good dog buddy is a good dog ....Whose a bad man John a bad man.

Andrew Spiesz (Dartmouth, 2019-05-31)

#489

Innocent until proven guilty

Greg Burrows (New glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#495

I’m signing because our animals need to have more rights against humans that are not animal lovers.

Tracey MacNeil (New Glasgow , 2019-05-31)

#497

I think this is wrong to muzzle a dog with no proof it is aggessive

Beverley Joan (New glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#498

I miss signing because no dog should be ordered to wear a muzzle when unnecessary. Also because the town of New Glasgow’s Animal Control needs to handle the wrongful complaints instead of forcing an INNOCENT DOG to wear an UNNECESSARY muzzle. Shameful.

Kelly MacKinnon (Halifax, 2019-05-31)

#499

This is bullshit! Poor puppers, I hope this gets fixed and animal control sorts their shit out!

Larissa Lauzon (Glace Bay, 2019-05-31)

#500

A golden retriever in a muzzle??? Absolutely nuts

Bailey Mackinnon (Halifax, 2019-05-31)

#506

Buddy is a good dog and this is a good family. Buddy should not have to be muzzled simply because this neighbor is angry. Muzzling Buddy will not make the neighbor shut up.

Michelle Chisholm ( Sackville, 2019-05-31)

#509

Without proof of bad behavior, no one should individually be able to mandate a muzzle order.

Becki Carpenter (Dartmouth , 2019-05-31)

#510

The town of New Glasgow need ti change their laws. They need to come see Buddy and stop listening to a grumpy lonely man. Dogs have rights too.

Tammy Slauenwhite (Lower five islands, 2019-05-31)

#511

It’s not fair at all to have to muzzle a dog every single time they go outside. The complaints are made by someone with a vengeance and the poor dog has to suffer. This is awful. Just awful.

Meghan Loggie (Halifax, 2019-05-31)

#513

Some people are crazy and they are clearly allowing a person who is off his rocker lead this ridiculous situation. Animal control is enforcing a muzzle without proof and that is wrong.

susan frizzell (charlottetown, 2019-05-31)

#516

It is not right to punish a dog on false accusations and no evidence. There should be behavioural testing before any animal is put under a muzzle ban by a certified dog behaviouralist, vet and dog trainer.

Melanie Andrecyk (Stellarton, 2019-05-31)

#517

This is absolutely ridiculous! Animals are living vocal beings. Expecting them to be silent all the time is ludicrous! Get a frigging life.

Mandy Killam (Glace Bay , 2019-05-31)

#524

no dog should have to have his face caged

heather lindsay (Halifax, 2019-05-31)

#526

It sounds like an axe of a neighbor being a bully and using city council to further abuse his neighbor. New Glasgow has many bigger social issues then this surely.

Rodd Whiteside (Middle sackville , 2019-05-31)

#527

I am signing this , because what iz being done is not only unjust it is a form of animal abuse .I thought we have gone forward when it comes to protecting animals .. This is going back to the dark ages. I truly hope the news gets ahold of this story and the person responsible for this is fired !

Nancy Graham (Truro, 2019-05-31)

#530

Shame on you New Glasgow animal control

Annette Daigle (Harrietsfield, 2019-05-31)

#533

This is outrageous. The neighbor needs to be investigated. What next?? Weapons?

Melinda Hewitt (Truro, 2019-05-31)

#535

This is tottally not right at all there should be more of investigation instead of it just being one sided unless there were other people complaining

Adam Roy (Westville, 2019-05-31)

#540

I am signing because Buddy is a wonderful dog. This neighbour is just being hard to manage.

Nicole Mackenzie (Dartmouth , 2019-05-31)

#546

I’m signing because this is ridiculous!! Animal control needs to look into animals that are being neglected and abused more, and listening to people abusing the system less!!! Take the muzzle off Buddy and put it on the trouble making neighbor!!!

Sandra Murray (Pictou, 2019-05-31)

#549

This is insane. Shame on the animal control in this neighborhood.

Nicole Evans (Liverpool, 2019-05-31)

#550

New Glasgow animal control Did not do their job !!!! Buddy should not be muzzled. This neighbor sounds like a complete ******* nut job !

Lynn MacEachern (New Glasgow , 2019-05-31)

#554

I do not believe that putting a muzzle on a perfectly good animal who hasn’t caused harm or wants to cause harm to anyone is right. It takes away from the animals quality of life when they have not done anything wrong. This muzzle will without a doubt cause pain and anguish to this animal because they will not understand why all of a sudden he is being punished for being a loving animal to his family.

Samantha Tarum (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#556

There is too much of this going on based on dramatics from people who are happier when they are unhappy. This needs to stop and the dogs need to have more consideration than they are given. This muzzling needlessly has a negative out come for the animal.

Debra Sterling (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#557

Need proof the dog is aggressive to be muzzled. Think the neighbor is just being an ass. And look into John not sure he is trained properly for his job

Jacqueline MacDonald (New Glasgow , 2019-05-31)

#560

The authorities need to speak to more than one person to draw a conclusion.... he already told you the guy was trying to make trouble for him since their friendship went sour! Golden retrievers are very docile and happy dogs!

Leona Shearer (Debert, 2019-05-31)

#561

I am a dog lover and this is absolutely heartbreaking to me.

Megan Humber (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#564

This dog and owner are being treated unfairly.

Candice Thorne (Pictou, 2019-05-31)

#566

The animal control bylaws need to change...Buddy is innocent until proven guilty

Shaun Bond (New Glasgow , 2019-05-31)

#573

That neighbour needs to get their asses kicked out of town.

Ken Grainger (Musquodoboit Harbour, 2019-05-31)

#577

Golden Retreiver.......come on people! Least likely breed to do any of the accusations......prove the accusations......freaking prove it! Poor dog......some people are pieces of shit and Chris's neighbour is one of them.......muzzle him for the rest of his days.......

Donna Johnson (Hazelbrook, PEI, 2019-05-31)

#578

This is not fair!!

Wendy Slaunwhite (Maitland, 2019-05-31)

#580

I am a dog lover and owner and I'm horrified by what has been done to poor Buddy.

Leigh Mac Beth (Kirkmount, 2019-05-31)

#581

My parents are from new Glasgow and have always brought my dogs to see my grandparents would hate to think they would not be welcomed. Over the years

Diane Diamond-Harnish (Dartmouth , 2019-05-31)

#582

I'm signing because of the fact unless the dog or dogs have physically attacked someone and that there is PHYSICAL damage and or proof no dog should be muzzled. This is outrageous. My late grandparents had a beagle named Sam on Trenton rd and she would just howl a d bark as everyone and she roamed during the day to mid 1980s...NOTHING was every said to them about Sam. Soo this soo called Aninal control officer needs training and education. This is insane!!!!

Kirsten Macdonald (Dartmouth, 2019-05-31)

#588

It might be the easy way to deal with an issue - to impose a muzzle order - rather than finding out what is really going on. But it is not the right way. New Glasgow residents deserve better than this.

Korie Marshall (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#591

I love animals.

Elizabeth MacKay (Surrey BC, 2019-05-31)

#594

My boys both passed away, but this breaks my heart. No dog should have to wear a muzzle for no reason other then one person making false accusations. When the animal is not physically in the province and they are making complaints, that proves 100% that they are a liar. Your Buddy is beautiful.

Royall Baker (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)

#598

I love animals and this owner should not have to muzzle Buddy.
The guys neighbors are nothing but Shit Disturbers and probably Welfare Cases that have nothing better to do.

Christopher McAloney (New Glasgow, 2019-05-31)
