RESOLVED!!! Change in IDAS setup on Isuzu DMAX

Comments

#208

The settings that are standard are, in my opinion, counterproductive and dangerous

Steve Andreasen (Sydney, 2021-04-29)

#209

I own a 21 Dmax

John Morris (Vale Park, 2021-04-29)

#210

I agree with the changes that are required

Peter Hancock (Mallacoota, 2021-04-29)

#212

I own one and the towing issues are frightening

Drew Stenfors (Brisbane , 2021-04-29)

#214

Its a saftey issue

Sebastian Tapia (Spring Farm, 2021-04-29)

#215

Provide safer towing

Darrel Caulfield (Camberwell , 2021-04-29)

#217

I agreed that the system should be able to be switched off on the move and or have standard settings that are not removed on start up

Matt Crow (Gosford, 2021-04-29)

#220

I own a new dmax and have had some close near accidents due to the idas on multi lane roadways

Lachlan Mccall (Yarrawonga , 2021-04-29)

#226

I 100% agree it needs to be changed please.

Deon Van Deventer (Bunbury , 2021-04-29)

#227

The request makes total sense and not sure why it hasn’t been rectified for towing purposes.

Carlos Hernandez (Townsville , 2021-04-30)

#232

I tow a caravan full time and quite often have forgotten to turn off the idas then have to find a place to pull over to do it

Michael Devlin (Cairns , 2021-04-30)

#233

This is the only thing that annoys me about the d-max

Jamie Badesso (Brisbane , 2021-04-30)

#240

I agree these items mentioned must be changed , great vehicle but this must be changed

Chris Boland (Melbourne , 2021-04-30)

#241

The driver needs more control over settings.

Ron Powell (Ningi, 2021-04-30)

#242

I’m signing because I agree with the author’s safety concerns.

Stephen Matters (MANSFIELD, 2021-04-30)

#244

I believe these reasons are valid

Emilio Cavuoto (Perth, 2021-04-30)

#246

Because I tow a trailer and it’s so annoying

Joshua Muscat (Cawdor , 2021-04-30)

#247

The IDAS system can be dangerous while towing large vans if left off after turning the vehicle on

Naveen Hira (Wollongong , 2021-04-30)

#252

These functions are dangerous and we should have a simple off switch

David Larkin (Perth, 2021-04-30)

#254

I agree with the petition statements

Sambo Willsy (Caloundra, 2021-04-30)

#256

I turn off IDAS and emergency braking every time I drive the car as they are dangerous in the environment I drive in.

Michael VanderSar (Kuranda, 2021-04-30)

#257

I have had multiple experiences with the afore mentioned system. It is dangerous and needs to have a simpler solution to deactivate it while the vehicle is in motion.

Joel Nikoloff (Glenorie, 2021-04-30)

#260

I'm signing because I agree with the issue and needs to be rectified.

Ashley Gemmill (Waurn Ponds, 2021-04-30)

#262

I fully agree with the some of these idas features needing to be turned off and remembered along with the options to turn off whole driving.

Adrian Barnett (Perth, 2021-04-30)

#267

I’m about to receive my dmax and will be towing a trailer daily for work which entails me getting in and out of the car 10-15x per day. I do not want to have to turn these features off every time as that is simply ridiculous.

Andrew Turner (Kellyville, 2021-04-30)

#269

This system almost put me under a truck on a narrow Regonal roads

Brian Moar (Horsham , 2021-04-30)

#270

I have delayed ordering a new D-max in the hope that a series 2 update will give you the mentioned options for the IDAS, I agree that these features are a great inclusion on the vehicle but in some circumstances they are simply unsafe.

Shane Carley (Stake Hill , 2021-04-30)

#276

This safety feature has if not reprogrammed to allow for disabling when towing can have dire results. It is a programming issue rather than a physical change

Peter McKill (CRANBOURNE, 2021-05-01)

#282

I'm signing because i have an Isuzu dmax 2021 and are having the same problems.

Jack Redcliffe (Wodonga, 2021-05-01)

#287

I am getting a DMAX for towing our caravan and the poor implementation of idas gives me great concern.

Brendon Staker (Perth, 2021-05-01)

#290

I don’t want to forget to turn off a safety feature, then have an accident that the safety feature I should have turn off (Isuzu advises you to) causes an accident. Towing up to 3.5t is dangerous enough without adding turning off many safety features through many menus. Make it quick and easy please.

Kev Wells (Canberra, 2021-05-02)

#291

I too am an Isuzu customer with the purchase of a MY21 D-Max, and have had incidents resulting from the intrusive IDAS that is not capable of making the right choices for me in every situation. I have experienced that the IDAS as it is stands right now is very dangerous in our dynamic Australian environment, especially country roads and outback travelling and do believe that this system will result in road incidents and fatalities. Once activated, the IDAS does not allow for human intervention necessary in a dynamic situation and will result in more chaos and tragedy than it prevents.

Scott Winning (Gold Coast, 2021-05-02)

#292

I own a New Dmax and have also experienced these issues when towing and during normal driving on poor / narrow roads. I also own a Hyundai I30N Performance which has lane keep assist and that system is totally different, non intrusive and can be turned on / off with a switch

Blake Gleeson (Kinross, 2021-05-02)

#294

Signing petition please

Craig Hines (Dysart, 2021-05-02)

#308

I’m signing because I’m sick of having to turn them off each morning to tow for work and it’s extremely dangerous

Will Lumsden (Geelong, 2021-05-03)

#311

If the Isuzu is aware of the safety problem they are obligated to fix.

Scott Covington (Coffs Harbour, 2021-05-03)

#313

I brought this issue up with Isuzu head office 5 months ago and after numerous emails felt they weren’t interested. I’ve now done 50000ks and feel I have a good basis to comment. I also found out that’s most insurance companies would cover you if you forget to turn the factory recommended setting off when towing.

Stephen Taylor (Whitebridge, 2021-05-03)

#317

I'm signing this due to a 6000km caravan trip. On two occasions where i had forgotten to disable IDAS functions it nearly caused head on collisions with trucks. This could have potentially been a family of 4 fatality. I have never held so much fear for my family's life.

Tim Fiegert (Canberra, 2021-05-04)

#320

Due to issues mentioned above

Gary Hoye (Lithgow , 2021-05-04)

#321

Isuzu dmax 2020 owner. The current system is way too troublesome and dangerous and should be fixed asap

Daniel Vodopianoff (Cheltenham, 2021-05-04)

#323

As listed above I have had similar experiences which have been very dangerous, especially when towing. Even not towing some of these features are way too sensitive and worry about when they activate when I know they are not needed.

David Hunt (Adelaide , 2021-05-05)

#324

I hate the systems.

Gil Slade (McLaren Vale, 2021-05-05)

#334

I have had multiple occasions where the AEB has activated for no reason, no cars, clear day wide verg on road side. Frightening and very, very dangerous.

Peter Tait (Corinella, Vic., 2021-05-06)

#345

I believe there should be an option to turn all IDAS features off permanently unless turned back on as I have had the car try to veer me off the road with the lane assist and had to come to a complete stop to avoid crashing.

Ashley Newton (Toowoomba, 2021-05-07)

#346

Faulty cruise that savagely applies brakes when there is nothing in front of the car.
It it happens when a loaded prime mover is following a Dmax or bt50 it will result in a fatality or multiple fatalities.

Kris Foster (Raglan, 2021-05-07)

#349

About to purchase but concerned with this issue.

Bevan Clark (Cairns, 2021-05-07)

#350

I too have had issues with the safety systems of this Ute and being I purchased it to tow long distances having to disable features multiple times a day is not only annoying but also dangerous if I forget to do it. I was also not told this had to be done by Isuzu when I bought the vehicle, I luckily discovered it online before a serious accident occurred.

Leigh Croft (North Wonthaggi , 2021-05-07)

#352

I also use a vehicle for towing heavy loads and any assist that interrupts with the chosen vehicle path/direction of load is very very dangerous in a heavy tow scenario

Jonathan Dennis (Bairnsdale, 2021-05-07)

#354

I have recently bought a new DMAX.
We have multiple issues, most of which are safety related, and most of which are electrical based.
ISUZU have NOT been able to resolve the issues, and don't even return our phone calls now.

Neil Findlay (Brisbane, 2021-05-08)

#358

As above the Idas system can cause unwanted and unneeded vehicle input causing dangerous situations. This is especially true when towing.

Brian Wilson (Thorneside , 2021-05-08)

#360

I have experienceed auto emergency braking activate twice while doing 100kph on a straight road with nothing in front of me other than shadows across road causing following traffic to take evasive actions. Also the constant lane assist on narrow country roads (with centre line) pushing you to shoulder

James Francis (Bonython, 2021-05-09)

#363

I am looking at buying a new MUX, and hope the situation is resolved or not installed in the new series. I tow a caravan

Brian Callaghan (Blacktown , 2021-05-09)

#367

I am sick of this crap system!!!!!

Ben Katip (Melbourne, 2021-05-10)

#374

There needs to be an software updated on this system that allows the driver to permanently switch of some of the IDAS settings

Ben Shaw (Wollongong, 2021-05-10)

#380

They should be optional addons, especially if they are causing danger to people. let us turn them off and leave them off.

Brett Riley (cooran, 2021-05-11)

#383

This is a dangerous feature that needs to be changed. It’s also very annoying!

Jordan West (Sydney, 2021-05-11)

#386

I feel this is a very necessary change for towing a d the safety of both my family and other road users

Anita King (Highfields, 2021-05-11)

#387

I agree with the request in this petitions and have had similar experiences.

Jason Graham (Adelaide, 2021-05-11)

#392

The IDAS is dangerous and poorly designed for a wide range of normal driving conditions.

Ben Straney (Sydney, 2021-05-12)

#394

I agree completely with the article. I have already brought it to moorooka isuzu/nissan attention about how dangerous the idas system is and need to be removed or allowed to be switched off by a button. They is to many scenarios where this system is dangerous driving on Australians narrow roads.

Simon Larsen (Collingwood park, 2021-05-14)

#396

the suggested changes would suite my requirements

Ian Sheldon (Medowie, 2021-05-14)

#398

I have daily occurrences where the safety system applies the brakes unnecessarily , causing vehicles behind me to brake unexpectedly

Brendan Lewis (Gosford, 2021-05-16)
