Gabbi Muir (Perth, 2022-05-18)

Caves House is a fantastic community asset which adds enormously to my enjoyment of living in Yallingup. The hotel is run extremely well and provides employment for a wide range of local people in hospitality and entertainment. Neil and Libby Jilley are committed members of our local community and Caves House is flourishing under their stewardship.

Travis Bulbeck (Dunsborough, 2022-05-18)

Caves was there before the housing -end of story, thats the rules. You can’t move in then complain. Whew that was so hard to write without swearing…

Sean McArthur (Yallingup , 2022-05-18)

#244

This is like the Raffles Hotel all over again, or The Castle on TV. Why buy there?

Alice Stephenson (Kendenup, 2022-05-18)

#248

Caves House has been a source of high quality live music for more years than I can recall, they have supported local artists right through the pandemic when so much was shut down, and they continue to support and promote live music because they believe in doing so for all concerned. And we gain the benefits by having regular quality live music every day, available to us.

wendy slee (busselton, 2022-05-18)

Because our small town has lost enough to tourism already.
Start thinking of the locals before snobby tourists

Jarryd Lynch (Dunsborough , 2022-05-18)

#271

Musical performance venues are precious and deserve legal clarity so they can invest in the industry

Mike Bandurski (Bunbury, 2022-05-18)

#273

Music is imperitive to culture. People can live anywhere and to purchase a property near an existing music icon is just a little bit of a silly move. I don’t feel our greater community should miss out and suffer because of someone with enough money to shut this down.

Mandy Mills (Dunsborough, 2022-05-18)

#274

I’m signing because it has been this way for a century and anyone who has quarrels with it should have thought more about that before they allowed it to become a problem for them.

Kane Fitzpatrick (Karrinyup , 2022-05-18)

#276

Caves House was a live venue well before the apartments were constructed, buyer beware.

Vincent Stokes (Busselton, 2022-05-18)

Caves is an institution and one of the rare night time venues in the region. You cannot stop entertaining!

LISA FORNERIS (Shelley, 2022-05-18)

#288

People who don't appreciate live music should not move near a well established venue that does appreciate live music. Simple really.

David Parker (Margaret River, 2022-05-18)

#290

Caves House is a music venue . New neighbour should’ve known that when they bought their property.
The problem is the neighbour , not Caves House !

To allow a great venue to continue live music

Tim Rielly (Yallingup , 2022-05-18)

I am a musician who values live music spaces of which there are few in the south west. Caves house has a great reputation for being a live music venue and not just on weekends. The atmosphere is fantastic and the venue is beautiful. I hope to play music there one day.

Helen Rose (Manjimup, 2022-05-18)

#297

I can only assume any issues with live music at caves are being made by newbie kill joys… get over it or move

Tim Sadleir (Dunsborough, 2022-05-18)

#298

This venue has a historical connection to the local community that spans many peoples lifetimes. It has been providing entertainment to locals and visitors to the South West, bringing revenue into our community and providing a rare social space to gather for us all.
Musicians provide the community with a chance to gather together on sacred ground and embrace the community spirit. Please save our entertainment opportunities in our local area.

Rachel Jenkin (Dunsborough , 2022-05-18)

Kym Devenish (Perth, 2022-05-18)

#301

It would be just terrible to see live music unavailable from this venue in the future. It's always been there, it's a part of history.

Gen Kirkman (Perth , 2022-05-18)

#302

My grandparents, Andrew and Susan Baxter, ran Caves House (before the fire). My dad used to climb inside the roof to catch possums. Of course I honeymooned there and the music was part of the vibe.

#365

I wish to support Caves House

Gordon Wilson (Margaret River, 2022-05-19)

#369

Caves House is a fixture down south and the Jilley’s do an amazing job of supporting live music and maintaining a space for the community. From NYE celebrations all the way back to the 90’s or a drive down south just to go to a gig at Caves… it is an amazing venue and I think that they should be given the freedom to host events for the public and continue the role they have been doing so well for the last 119 years.

Tom Foss (Woodlands, 2022-05-19)

#370

I have enjoyed the ambiance of Caves House and live music there, over the last 40 years!!!! Well, who hasn’t at some time? The place has been an institution for 100 years!!!
It is criminal to think a privileged few, could buy property next to an institution such as Caves House and then try to muscle in their noise complaints - trying to silence the music.
The greater good of the community is at stake here. Perhaps some bylaws around buying nearby property would benefit Caves House and the extended West Australian community better ?
Please listen to the wishes of the wider community and support this local business and gathering place, where we can enjoy and support local and international artists, as we always have done.

Annie Winchcombe (Dunsborough , 2022-05-19)

#381

I love attending live music events. The more these functions are curtailed, the more people won’t attend and support hospitality businesses, which results in a flow on effect through the economy.

Rennae Whitney (Yallingup, 2022-05-19)

#383

I love live music and Caves House. It's been a long term venue for events where local and international artists perform. It's important that there be more venues like it so to maintain the live music opportunities for artists and music lovers. Live music is socially iconic for bringing people together, in a post Covid world, music venues like Cave house, are even more important for having a positive effect on the communities mental health. Let it alone.....

Donna Wolter (Margaret River, 2022-05-19)

#385

It would be very sad to see an iconic venue like caves loose live music! I think most people in the Southwest would agree that!

Jordan Cameron (Dunsborough , 2022-05-19)
