STOP RZM2022-00039 STOP HIGH DENSITY IN HOG MOUNTAIN

This project doesn't fit the land, the intersection or the area in general. The property owner isn't asking for this rezoning-a speculative investment firm is requesting this rezoning. It will be sold to a builder who may or may not be required to adhere to the site plan given.

Darlyn Wilkerson (Buford, 2023-03-10)

#2

I'm signing because traffic is ridiculous as it is already. The developer argued that based on the GDOT vehicle counts for Gravel Springs/Auburn Rd, the development would only add a fraction of vehicles. That's a great selling point on paper, but blatantly ignores the congestion at the intersection of 2 state routes. It flagrantly disregards the dangerously difficult entry points onto Auburn Rd from subdivisions, commercial lots, side streets, schools, etc.

Hue Moua (Buford, 2023-03-10)

#8

Gwinnett is bringing in too many people! Traffic is terrible. Our roads can’t handle any more cars, construction vehicles etc.

Eddie Bell (Lawrenceville , 2023-03-11)

#10

Another high density housing development is not a good fit in this highly congested area. Existing homes in a quarter mile area of Auburn Road are gridlocked in entering and exiting onto this busy road. Safety has been diminished and proven by the fact there have been over 170 accidents with 3 fatalities just in the last year and a half in said area. This would highly diminish the quality of life in this area.

Laurie Dupree (Dacula, 2023-03-12)

#11

I am already frustrated with the traffic situation on 324/124 intersection and Gravel Springs/Auburn Rd. It will not help adding more homes to this mess until the roads have been widened or there is some kind of relief for the traffic flow with all the new developments that have popped up in the last year and the new exit off Gravel Springs that gravitates more traffic from Winder and Hamilton Mill to come towards this intersection.

Mona Ladha (Dacula, 2023-03-12)

#17

I live in this area that is already a mess

Adnana Dumitriu (Buford, 2023-03-12)

#18

I'm signing because the traffic in this area has become very dangerous and adding more housing and increasing the population will only add to the problem we already see. It is increasingly difficult to get out onto Braselton Highway in the area without taking risks to life and limb.

Anita Morris (Dacula, 2023-03-13)

#20

I commute from this area every morning and this intersection is already dangerous as is. I pass at least one car accident a week.

Mariam Alsuweydi (Buford, 2023-03-13)

#24

Because this is a dangerous intersection and the country has yet to do anything to help.

Georgiana Fields (Dacula , 2023-03-14)

#25

There will be way too much traffic and congestion. There is already too much traffic. It will put a strain on all of the infrastructure including schools.

Cecilia Engstrom (Dacula, 2023-03-15)

#26

I’m signing because I can.

Zainab Alsuweydi (Buford, 2023-03-15)

#28

I object to this not good development.
RZM2022-00039 STOP HIGH DENSITY IN HOG MOUNTAIN

Suaad Alkhafaji (Buford , 2023-03-15)

#30

I feel this would additional unnecessary traffic in an already busy area.

Stacy Jones (Dacula , 2023-03-15)

#32

I’m a resident in this area currently, and the population and traffic in this vicinity is already out of control. My husband and I have lived in the community since 2015 and in our current home since early 2017, and we loved where we lived when we moved in… but that has changed in the last few years, already, as a direct result of the growth and increasing traffic in this area. If this proposed development is approved, the stretch of roadway between the intersection of Gravel Springs/Braselton Hwy and Ft Daniel Elementary School would be a bigger nightmare than it already is - currently, at most times of the day, I have an impossible time turning in or out at the corner of Gravel Springs and Hog Mountain Church Road, which is in the same 4/10 of a mile where this new development will be adding a new neighborhood, with multiple access points for entry/exit to Gravel Springs Rd, and hundreds of new residents/vehicles adding to the existing traffic patterns. It would be unbearable, if not impossible, and I am adamantly opposed… praying that officials will not let this pass!

Katy Hong (Dacula, 2023-03-17)

#33

I’m opposed to the rezoning of this area as detailed above

Shir Ley (Dacula, 2023-03-17)

#34

I live in this area and it is already over populated

Jordan North (dacula, 2023-03-17)

#37

High Density in this area will just add to the safety issues that already exists. With existing neighborhoods, parents waiting directly on Braselton Highway to drop off and pickup their children at Twin Rivers
Middle School has at times made emergency vehicles drive quick quick little email to all the commissioner. Please listen I want to tell you how I’ll be honest with you yesterday we were doing this that makes me furious. I never would say anything about because Linda was there my friend County would come back on her fix it. Oh OK the other way to fix it is to get the driveway around the school OK right I picked up the phone and I called at department of traffic for Gwinnett County we were in the car because the traffic was they were backed up so far toward this direction and then people were going around on the berm to try to get around these damn parents a capo to talk to him precious children a ******* bus and now I think I found a house down there this year I never could get three because all them blah but I mean I was serious and it wouldn’t bother me at all to send an email to all these people instead of winning this revenue. Why don’t we get why don’t you get the school board to address the issue in the mornings and evenings of all this traffic back up on Braselton Highway in Auburn Road because this development what exit on Auburn Road, but both kids go to twin Rivers right when I leave I don’t know if Lily was the first class in our Osborne on the berm of Braselton. New building is not worth the new revenue that would replace our safety. Please consider this in your decision.

Mitchell Lavender (Buford, 2023-03-18)

#38

I live there and it is already nuts. Seems like there is already a lack of thought about the saturation of population…and there is thought to increase?

Robert Turner (Dacula, 2023-03-19)

#39

I feel that I put my family’s life in danger every day driving my children to Fort Daniel Elementary. The traffic is extreme and I have almost been hit several times by speeding cars. This is only going to get worse and we will undoubtedly see an increase in fatalities. City officials have neglected to do a traffic study, which would likely show several compelling factors against development. This is unacceptable! Community needs and safety should supersede the monetary gain of a developer who cares more about a bottom line than the safety of our children!

Cassin Cole-Straub (Dacula , 2023-03-19)

#40

Because anymore traffic on Auburn Road will make it unsafe to turn left from Hog Mountain Church Road when taking my child to school.

Karl Straub (Dacula , 2023-03-19)

#41

I am signing this petition because traffic in this area is terrible as it is not to mention overcrowded. Safety becomes a major issue when both factors are out of control.

Paul Saby (Dacula, 2023-03-20)

#42

I'm signing because the insurance in this area can't tolerate even more townhomes or apartments.

Elizabeth Kagansky (Dacula, 2023-03-20)

#43

We don't need more traffic on this already dangerous in intersection and because we are killed ng our state just like California has been by cutting down cutting down all these trees for new commercial buildings and housing projects!

Kate Ouimette (Buford, 2023-03-20)

#45

We don't need more residents bringing more traffic to 124/324 intersection

Carl Gardner (Dacula, 2023-03-20)

#47

I live less than a mile from this location and the traffic is already a nightmare. Please do not approve!

Donna Franz (Dacula, 2023-03-20)

#48

I do not believe this area has the proper infrastructure to support this development at this time.

Mary Beckstine (Dacula, 2023-03-21)

#49

Traffic in this area is unsafe and the roadways simply aren't built for the current level of traffic, never mind any additional traffic.

Phillip Hartley (Dacula, 2023-03-21)

#51

No additional homes need to be built in this area. Traffic is already horrible and the existing subdivisions are challenged with exiting onto Auburn Rd.

Chandra Daney (Dacula, 2023-03-21)

#52

Traffic congestion and safety concerns.

Samuel Pierce (Dacula, 2023-03-21)

#53

This is the WORST place for a neighborhood of any sort. Traffic is horrendous in this stretch and getting worse with all the building that’s been approved already. We can’t get out of our neighborhood as it is. It should only be a commercial spot with entrance on/off Braselton Hwy!

Angie Barrett (Dacula, 2023-03-21)

#55

There is too much traffic there already!!

Cassie Mullikin (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#57

I'm signing this because the building rate in Gwinnett County is out of control. This area is already so congested. The last thing this area needs is a high density development.

Mitchell Christensen (Hoschton, 2023-03-22)

#58

We don't need anymore traffic in this area. So many homes, cars and roads haven't been widened. We can't get out of our neighborhoods any time of the day.

Angela Ragon (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#61

There is way too much traffic on that road now. I can’t imagine more people living on the road. It can take 20 minutes to get out of Dacula oaks as it is. We do not need more people in the road unless there is some serious construction done to the road with added lights before any additional people live on that road.

Garry Gwaltney (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#62

The road is already too busy and dangerous. Too many wrecks already. We can’t tolerate more congestion!!!

Jessica Roberts (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#64

I oppose this all the way!!!

April W. (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#65

I beg the Board of Commissioners to DENY the request of RZM2022-00039.

This is not only a matter inconvenience due to traffic increase, it is a matter of safety and sometimes, life or death since there have been MANY, MANY accidents, some FATAL along the stretch of road from 324 and Auburn Rd intersection up to Jim Moore Rd/Auburn Rd intersection. With the new I-85 exit ramp now on Gravel Springs Rd and the additional construction along Gravel Springs Rd, it has increased traffic significantly, which is an understatement! With so many subdivision entry/exits along Auburn Rd, including Fort Daniels Elementary School (near the proposed townhouse development) it has become dangerous for those of us who live in this area to enter and exit our subdivisions. This is a quality of life issue and puts us in danger, as the high amount of accidents just in this past year have proven.

Again, I beg the Board of Commissioners to deny RZM2022-00039. Please don't put the financial profits of developers/builders over the safety of families who live in this area.

Thank you for your consideration.

Suzanne Gingras (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#67

I’m signing this because, traffic is already congested we need to solve the traffic issue first. School should not be overcrowded

Ysira Lopez (Dacula , 2023-03-22)

#68

The roads can't handle the traffic now. Gwinnett County need to think about our quality of life. It's so overcrowded now and the roads are dangerous in that area. Wreaks everyday, or every other day.

TINA VUICK (BUFORD, 2023-03-22)

#69

This area is already too crowded. No more building.

Nathan Oyer (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#70

It is crazy trying to get out of our subdivisions. There is way too much congestion. I was hit head on by a car in my turning lane as I tried to turn into my neighborhood, Dacula Oaks. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt! We have had fatalities on this stretch of road as well. It is just too much! This area was not built to handle this much traffic and adding another 100 homes will only exacerbate the problem!

Philip Owens (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#71

I live in Dacula Oaks and can't get out of my neighborhood as it is. This area has too much congestion and is extremely dangerous. We don't need any more fatalities!

Tammy Owens (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#72

Please deny this Rezoning request!!! Auburn Road is already too congested between Hwy 324 and Old Fountain Rd/Old Peachtree Rd. It is not safe and a traffic study needs to be done.

Elizabeth Jordan (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#73

There's too much high density building already going on in the area. No more is needed

Margo Meeks (Suwanee, 2023-03-22)

#74

I live on the little neighborhood in between where they plan on building the new homes. What I like to focus on more is the fact we NEED trees. Every year less and less trees appear. We need them to keep Earth alive!
Don’t forget the ecosystem and all the animals that will lose their habitat. It’s great to bring up these points because why build more houses where nature is teeming with life? It’s be much better to build such a neighborhood in a more dead area, so less harm is done.

Ace Freeze (Buford, 2023-03-22)

#75

This is ridiculous. Stop overcrowding this area

Chris Sherwood (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#76

Our roads are so incredibly overly crowded as it is. This would only ad to the issue. Quality of life decreases for everyone. No more housing without new roads to accommodate the increased traffic!

Chris Rieken (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#77

I live nearby and I will be terrible traffic around my place

Jacqueline Quintero (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#80

Auburn road is already to congested and more construction and houses would make it more difficult to exit our community and cause more accidents.

Amparo Soto (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#81

This area is already crowded and overfilled with traffic. Turning out of the neighborhood onto Auburn is already a severe risk and people have already died trying to turn out of here, and bringing more traffic to the area poses a huge safety risk. Turning out of our neighborhood is already labeled as “turn at your own risk.”

Tyler Kwiatkowski (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#83

Too congested

Jaime Soto (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#84

This area is does not have the infrastructure needed to support this plan. There are also numerous safety issues if this moves forward.

Kathi Avants (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#85

It directly affects me as it connects to my property. The traffic is already very bad. I can’t imagine the negative impact this will have.

Wayne Faulkner (Buford, 2023-03-22)

#89

Adding the proposed development will exacerbate an already untenable traffic situation, and will further crowd already overcrowded public schools in the surrounding area. Furthermore, a mixed apartment / townhome development is likely to drive down the property values of established, single family home neighborhoods adjacent to the proposed development.

MATTHEW DOWDALL (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#90

Rezoning these parcels to R-TH will decrease property values of subdivisions that border these properties. It would be a huge increase in density. This corner is already dangerously overburdened.

Larry Wilkerson (Buford, 2023-03-22)

#91

Im opposed

Elizabeth Rieken (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#95

Our area cannot handle the additional traffic that this development would bring.

Jason Drennen (Dacula, 2023-03-22)

#98

Too much traffic

Bonnie Ehmann (Dacula , 2023-03-22)

#100

To stop the building of townhouses at hwy 124 & 324 because of traffic congestion.

Scott Bullock (Dacula , 2023-03-23)

#101

There has been enough growth on 324 on both sides of 85. This section of 324 is already extremely dangerous and having more car dump into a 4 lane road makes the situation worst.

Shannon Heustess (Dacula, 2023-03-23)

#102

The development is not ready for the infrastructure in the surrounding area. The quality of life has greatly diminished in the local area with the increase of traffic and inability to pull out of any of the neighborhoods in the area without risking life and limb. The additional volume of a potential high density development would add another 800 in's and out's a day onto an already overwhelmed area. And the traffic accidents in the less than 1/2 mile area have skyrocketed in the last year, with 3 fatalities not to mention damage to property. It can handle no more!

David Dupree (Dacula, 2023-03-23)

#104

I do not agree with zoning to build additional townhomes at Hwy 124 & Hwy 324.

Diane Bullock (Dacula, 2023-03-23)

#106

I'm a Daniel Park resident, who his life and his family life impacted by the amount of enormous traffic going on GA324 due to opening the exit 118 on I85. and I'm opposing adding more residential neighborhoods on that route that will add to the catastrophic situation we are in right now

Ehab Mikhael (Dacula, 2023-03-23)

#107

It’s really scary for me to leave my neighborhood during high traffic hours . It take me a lengthy amount of time each time , it could take as much as 15 minutes to leave out onto gravel springs /auburn. There are barely breaks between lights that allow for many cars to get through and do so safely and feeling secure. Half the time I’m scared to death. The two lanes narrow to one at gravel springs shifting to auburn . People travel pretty fast. There is a lot of traffic. I don’t think the “neighborhood” is actually walkable, not anymore.

Trips that should only take me 2 minutes take me atleast 35 based on getting out of my neighborhood timely & without a light and with too many cars out in the road. There are already new subdivisions established & moving in to increase that traffic and density which will make families driving way less safe. Please don’t add any new subdivisions or builds.

Desiree Ross (Dacula, 2023-03-23)

#108

I oppose the rezoning of the parcel of land on the corner of 124 and 324.

Amanda Panos (Buford, 2023-03-23)

#109

I am opposed to more high density housing in this area as we already can’t get out of our neighborhood without a lengthy wait and risky dart into traffic.

Keith Barrett (Dacula, 2023-03-23)

#112

I'm signing because I am opposed to the proposed rezoning in my community. I want to live at peace and not have to worry about traffic safety.

Daphnee Renelus (Dacula, 2023-03-24)

#113

I am opposed to RZM2022-00039. There is too much traffic on Hwy 324 already. Adding these townhomes would be a disaster. Its a safety issue, a traffic issue, and a Quality of Life issue.

Keith Ward (Dacula, 2023-03-24)

#114

This request will increase traffic volume and student enrollment. In addition to being inconsistent (high-density) with the current zoning of this area.

Alan Davis (Dacula, 2023-03-24)

#116

I do not want more traffic or over crowding of schools. The traffic is at a very dangerous level, can not get out of our neighborhood.

Carole Mayne (Dacula, 2023-03-24)

#117

That intersection is already congested and traffic is so bad in the mornings and evenings that it take more than 10 to 20 minutes to just get to Auburn or the I85 exit from the intersection.. The number of head on collisions are just increasing.. Witnessed more than 3 in a span of 2 months.. We do not need more people instead widen the roads and make Auburn Road and Braselton Highway road 2 lanes each on either direction..

Sharon Enoch (Dacula, 2023-03-24)

#118

I say No to RZM2022-00039

Serea Williams (Dacula , 2023-03-24)

#119

Traffic at this intersection and area in general is already out of control and adding more residents would only worsen it. Emphasis should be on improving traffic in this congested area instead of building more housing or adding more businesses.

Rebecca McMurray (Dacula, 2023-03-24)

#120

I do not want this property to be zoned for the building of high density residential units.

Brigette Hall (Dacula, 2023-03-25)

#121

I agree with the above mentioned issues. I also don’t want more crime in my area and housing like this just brings more crime.

Misty Finnegan (Dacula, 2023-03-25)

#122

I’m signing because our area doesn’t need more congestion. Due to the current increase of traffic our area has increased in traffic and accidents.

Mia Massey (Dacula, 2023-03-25)

#123

This area is already extremely congested and the roads are dangerous if you blink you will get in an accident.
We do not need any more appointments in this area. 😡

Rosanna Mattioli (Dacula, 2023-03-25)

#124

traffic is already horrendous.

Elizabeth Ward (Dacula, 2023-03-25)

#130

I don’t want to add more traffic to the ridiculous amount we have already. Also safety reasons, and I believe we need to keep some forest

Carole Fleniken (Dacula, 2023-03-26)

#131

Too much traffic already. This will make it worse.

Gregory Fleniken (Dacula , 2023-03-26)

#132

I am signing because the additional high density development of this area is detrimental to the safety and quality of life of those of us that live and own property, and pay taxes in this area.

Chandra Hohn (Dacula, 2023-03-26)

#133

I am opposed to the rezoning.

Diane Logan (Buford, 2023-03-26)

#134

This is already a high traffic area. This will add even more to a congested traffic area with poor flow.

Chris Shekey (Buford, 2023-03-26)

#136

I do not want high density residential development on this land and it should not be change the present zoning of this land. The current zoning is the correct zoning RA-200 and C-1.

John Triano (Dacula, 2023-03-26)

#137

They must be stopped from putting in any more development that has an only 2 lane roads to enter & exit onto. The traffic in this area is out of control. Why is there no building moratorium or environmental impact studies done before the land can be built upon. All road work should be done before anything can be built. Lives are being put in danger by the recklessness and greediness of the Gwinnett County Commissioners in approving this. STOP BUILDING. You are ruining Gwinnett County!!!

Carolyn Shekey (Dacula, 2023-03-26)

#143

THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE

Nick Logan (Buford, 2023-03-26)

#144

There is way too much building going on in Gwinnett and has caused great damage to our woodlands and neighborhoods, not to mention the traffic and riff-raff of people and chaos along with it.

Sally Allen (Lawrenceville , 2023-03-26)

#146

I believe in responsible development.

Sara Hartley (Dacula, 2023-03-26)

#148

I am against the rezoning described in this petition

Edward Espy (Buford, 2023-03-26)

#149

I live in Marlowe Estates in proximity to 324 and 124 intersections.

Louis Pallotta (Buford, 2023-03-26)

#150

The opening of the 85 exit and the multiple other subdivisions built in our immediate area have impacted out quality of life and increased the traffic accidents in this area. We are about ten years behind in infrastructure.

Jennifer Carter (Dacula, 2023-03-26)

#153

It’s going to be to crowded and is going to make that intersection look unorganized and clustered

Mehek Jan (Dacula, 2023-03-26)

#156

This area does not need high density housing.

Elizabeth Nerren (Dacula, 2023-03-26)

#159

Poor infrastructure to support additional construction

YonKyong Kneafsey (Dacula , 2023-03-27)

#161

The traffic outside of our neighborhood is crazy. It sometimes takes 10 mins just turn safely make a left hand turn out of Daniel Park.

Nichole Schweitzer (Dacula, 2023-03-27)

#162

Too much congestion and traffic at that intersection already

Gail McCauley (Dacula, 2023-03-27)

#163

I do not want more traffic in an already dangerous area.

Jennifer Mitchell (Dacula , 2023-03-27)

#164

Of traffic safety concerns

Noel Rooney (Dacula, 2023-03-27)

#167

This area does not need any townhomes. The traffic at this intersection is bad enough as it is and this will just add more congestion to the area.

Lisa Rao (Buford, 2023-03-27)

#168

Because we live right around the corner. Traffic at Braselton Hwy , Gravel Springs and Highway 324 is already majorly congested and now the county wants to add more? I am ready to move out of Gwinnett County.

Debra Walker (Buford, 2023-03-27)

#169

I am against the building of townhomes in an area that is already extremely congested.

Charlie Perkins (Buford, 2023-03-27)

#170

There is too much traffic there already!

Whitney Renfroe (Lawrenceville , 2023-03-27)

#174

I’ve lived here 95 in the same neighborhood(minus 2 years for college). I understand the need for houses but 124 has become a nightmare during the morning and evening due to traffic. Add in the connector that has been planned it will only add to the congestion for everyone including the proposed new homes. And the residents/constituents that live near by.

Collin Moore (Buford, 2023-03-27)

#176

The area is highly congested already and dangerous. They have started the same type of project on Fence Rd near 324 intersection and we tried fighting that one to no avail. Gwinnett is taking what little green space we have left away. The traffic on 324 is a nightmare with all the high density housing and Warehouses going up!

James Lemons (Dacula, 2023-03-27)

#178

The roads are already too crowded as is. In the past week there was an accident just down the road near the Kroger. Adding more housing to this area will create more and more dangerous situations with traffic.

Charles Parker (Buford, 2023-03-27)

#179

The traffic in the area is already too crowded. The nearby schools bring so many people that it makes it difficult to get out of our nearby neighborhood. This neighborhood is also around a corner that causes it to be dangerous at times because traffic can not be seen when crossing traffic going towards the school. This area cannot sustain anymore traffic at this time.

Charles Parker (Buford, 2023-03-27)

#180

RZM2022-00039 is not a good idea especially in this corner. Adding 90+ homes would mean 90+ cars added to the road. The traffic during peak hours is already tough… it would also increase likelihood of accidents. We already have an influx of traffic from the new I-85 construction.

Togi Benji (Buford , 2023-03-28)

#181

Development is not a good fit for the property.

Jaime Rose (Buford , 2023-03-28)

#182

Traffic backs up past the middle school in the evening. In the morning, I have to time it just right to get out. The proposed exit to the development would be one of 5in a very short distance. Depending on the time of day, traffic can already be at a stand still in all directions. For safety and traffic control, please do not approve this proposal.

Rebecca Moore (Buford, 2023-03-28)

#183

Existing traffic in this area is already too heavy and hazardous. This development will have an highly detrimental effect of the ability of all residents to promptly and safely commute to / from or through this area. Additionally, this increase in traffic, in close proximity of Fort Daniel Elementary School and the large number of young children associated with this school, will dramatically increase the probability of traffic related injuries and fatalities to these and other youngsters. As such, this development is not only unnecessary, it is detrimental to all the current residents of the area. I believe that the Gwinnett Country Planning Commission had taken these and other factors into account when they denied the associated application for rezoning (a 7-1 vote against, I believe). I agree with their decision.

Bruce Moore (Buford, 2023-03-28)

#184

This area is already crowded and congested.

Jenn Delfin (Buford , 2023-03-28)
